The hotel is located in a beautiful area and has preserved its early 19th-century atmosphere, though now in a modernized form. The reception and lounges are wonderful, and the staff is polite. The room, especially for such a low price, was large, spacious, comfortable, and clean with beautiful view on the hills. We are very glad we chose to stay there.🤩🥰

Great location opposite beach. Very clean and well decorated. Amazing buffet breakfast with coffee machine to suit all tastes. Warm but not hot at night . Free parking very close during months of November-March. Easy walk into town; around 15-20 mins stroll. Asked for sea view with bath which we got.

Not a big deal but there was no bottled water, fridge or tissues in the room. Being on a road there was some noise but it didn’t disturb us. Only one window opened, and only a few inches so it may be a bit warm in the summer. Mattress was not the most comfortable. Cracked sink. But none of this affected our stay- we would return.

My daughter and I love Eastbourne and we often stay at the Lansdowne Hotel. The staff are very friendly, the hotel is very comfortable, reasonably priced, and conveniently located opposite the sea front and within walking distance from the town centre, theatres, pier and bandstand. The hotel has lift access to all floors. Plenty of available parking on the sea front with free parking for blue badge holders. We stayed for breakfast which was excellent. There is plenty to do in the area which is perfect for disabled travellers. Would recommend.

Slight issues with the walk-in shower (Room 147). Water overflows from the shower tray leaving puddles on the bathroom floor. My daughter is disabled so I was worried about her slipping although there are handrails. There didn't appear to be an extractor fan or heated towel rail; therefore everything ended up wet and soggy. Fine for one night, but if we were staying for longer there were concerns that our room, and belongings, could become damp. The room was beautifully decorated with super comfy beds, although there was no proper wardrobe, just a wall unit with hooks to hang clothes on. Fridge needed a wipe out.

The view was stunning. Nothing better than to wake up or go to bed to with this windows full of sea. The room was big and comfy. The breakfast was wonderful and reasonable priced. Staff was very nice. It is very quiet since its location is a bit off from the touristy pier.

The bed was a bit squeaky whenever you move. Unfortunately the curtains don't draw out the entire light, it is very sunny early in the morning and also very warm since the sun was directly shining on my window. It does have a fan you can plug in, an aircon or better insulated windows would have been better. It is a bit far away from the pier, but in walkable distance (if you don't have heavy luggage). It would have been nice to have a fridge inside the room, if it is already so hot inside the room and there are no other means to have cool water

This is an older style seaside hotel - spotlessly clean and with old-fashioned service. The lounges were comfortable. The bedroom (sea view) was huge. There was no noise from the public areas at all in our room. It's a good location between the pier and the calmer western end of the resort. Not too bad for public transport.

Individually the staff were great, but they were badly managed - the restaurant was chaotic while the supervisors were there, and ran smoothly when they were missing! The pillows were hard which meant we slept poorly. Possibly a bit expensive for what it was - but probably in line with other local good hotels.

We booked a junior suite as a treat. A super (enormous) room with huge windows with a sea view. Really comfy and felt luxurious. A bathroom with freestanding bath plus a separate shower room. The staff were lovely and everyone we met was warm and welcoming. Great location and walking distance to all main attractions. Will definitely stay again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Perhaps more info about parking. We parked up in the car park behind the Towner Gallery which is just a five minute walk away as no spaces near the hotel.

The room was very spacious and overlooked the sea. There was a separate shower room as well as a bathroom - both a little dated but perfectly functional and clean. The bed was comfortable. Good choice of food for breakfast and items such as kippers and poached eggs could be ordered separately when you go in. Good coffee. I ate in for two of the three nights and again there was a good choice. I was on a walking break and had forgotten my walking stick - Reception sorted me out with one from lost property! Easy walk into town and to the Gallery showing Ravilious, and the Turner Prize.

One night I felt I was being guided towards the back of the restaurant where there were very few people. I declined and asked for the table I had the night before. The same night my choice of how my food was cooked - medium rare - was queried twice, and I ended up with a well done piece of steak. When I raised this it was sorted. The water tasted a little odd but maybe I'm not used to the local water - I raised this with Reception when I left.

Beautiful room, very tastefully decorated with a stunning sea view. Excellent shower and we also had a bath. Bed extremely comfortable and everything spotlessly clean. The lounges are elegant, comfortable and very inviting to relax in. Staff are all extremely professional, helpful and friendly. Last, but certainly not least, what’s the Magnificent breakfast which was extremely good and set us up for the day. Thank you for making our time so memorable. We wondered whether it would be worth the 2hour drive down for just one day but the hotel alone made it more than worthwhile.

The corridors leading to the bedrooms and the bedroom doors themselves really do bear no relationship to what lies behind the doors! The decor was tired and dull in the corridors and a bit like a two star bed and breakfast - but then you open the bedroom door and everything inside goes up to 5 star hotel! It’s a lovely surprise but we really did think the corridors let the feel of such a lovely hotel down. However everything else was lovely.

The room had very nice decor ( lovely curtains and painting on the wall). Good modern bathroom with mixer taps on the basin and shelves for wash bags etc. Comfortable beds and pillows. Very nice looking furniture ( wardrobe chest of drawers and bedside table) The room was compact but had everything needed and was nice. Helpful staff. Lovely general areas in the hotel.

Needed good reading lights and a shower one could adjust temperature wise. The shower was in the bath and came from the bath taps. It was impossible to get a reasonable temperature. If you turned up the hot it was boiling. Turn up the cold it was very cold. As a result one could not have a shower.
