Allison House 16, is near the bus stop and you can get to the city in no time. There are some cute cafès nearby where you can have breakfast or brunch. You can have some tea or coffee in the room as there is a water heater and teabags and instant coffee etc. The bed was really comfortable! We had a room directly into the garden ( ground floor). The staff was really friendly, we arrived before check in time, we left the suitcases that they took to our room. The day we checked out, we left our suitcases in the storage unit, so we had some time to have breakfast and took a stroll around .The room and bathroom were very clean, and there was no noise at any time

The room was clean and cosy; perfect for 1 person for a weekend away. Older home in a quiet neighborhood with high ceilings, great view out to the garden and lots of character. The bus system works well from 5 minutes out the door; great location if you are okay with a short commute or 30 minute walk to the Royal Mile. Also very quiet.

I was on the first floor and in the morning I could hear loud trampling out before me. Nothing major, and something you'll get at any hotel, but if you don't want to wake up early you might want to wear ear plugs.

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was lovely, comfortable and the whole place had a familiar atmosphere. The view from my room was particularly beautiful. The staff helped me with the luggage, and that`s something I really appreciate.

The room was beautiful but very small. I was on my own but i think it would have been a struggle for two persons to be there, with the suitcases and room in general. Bathroom was tiny and i would have liked to have a shelf for putting personal care items. And a lift!

The place is so peaceful and beautiful.. The location is so convenient to connect to City Centre and so close to it. Plenty of buses to connect all major spots. Self Check-in & Check-out is so easy.

I stayed here for 1 week. The Room and Shower area are too small for a couple with Kids.. The hot & cold water system fixed in the shower area is too confusing and difficult to use. There is no reception area at all, so I am not sure of any aspects in case there is an emergency during late night hours. Hence the security of this place might be a concern for a few, but I had absolutely no issues throughout my stay here. There is an emergency contact number mentioned inside the room notice board, though not sure of the effectiveness of the same as I never tried calling them for anything. I could see only the cleaner ladies that keep visiting the place everyday morning. Rest all are fine.. The place is so peaceful and beautiful..

The bed was very comfortable and the shower was new and pretty good. There are no cafes or shops in the surrounding area but there are beautiful old houses. It is a quiet and gorgeous neighborhood. The self check-in system at any time was very convenient. The self check-out before 10:30 a.m. was easy too.

I would have apreciated having a closet or dresser to store clothes. It would be nice if the carpet was cleaner. There was no shampoo in the shower. The key that opened the entrance also opened the room. Also, the locks on all the rooms looked the same and the door couldn't be closed from the inside. I was a little worried about security.

clean, comfortable and quiet room. The hotel is a bit far from the city center, but hey, it's a 25 min walk to the city center. I can understand, that not all hotels can be in the city center.

When I arrived, there was no one at reception, I know that the hours ended at 2:00 p.m. but they told me that my check-in time is at 2:00 p.m., if I had needed help, there was no one at reception to help me. There was only one toilet roll in my room, luckily I didn't have to use a second one, but I don't know where I could have found another, for my toilet.

Nice room with views over the rooftops of Edinburgh. Comfy bed and a kettle, hairdryer, ironing board etc. Nice, quiet neighbourhood, roughly a 20-30 min walk to the centre or a short bus ride. Easy self check-in. I hardly heard any neighbours and didn't hear the road at all.

I was in the top-floor south-facing room on a rare hot day, and it was pretty hot, so a fan might have been good in the summer - although this is unlikely to be an issue often!

We liked the location, we walked everywhere from there, and it was good not being in the noisy centrical streets. The instructions to find it and to reach everything were very clear and it was comfortable and very clean (they cleaned it daily the days we were there). The bed was very comfortable and we liked our view to a little green space.

The shower needed a little fix with the handle but nothing serious. We showered there everyday with no concerns.

Easy check in and allowed us to leave our big bags before the room was ready which was great. Very clean and comfortable. I'd book here again for sure

It's a tiny bit far from Princess St. But the bus goes straight there so not too bad. We were used to accomodations closer to the city centre so we were a bit spoiled that way. That being said we did a mix of bus and walking to get to the centre and back. Not a huge deal but plan on taking the bus or a quick uber from the tram or train if you have big bags with you. We ubered down to Princess St. on check out day as it was 430am and we didn't want to fuss with the bus. Ubered down to Waverly then took the 100 to the airport. Getting back and forth was super easy. Top floor was very very warm and beds was a wee bit short for me (6ft) but my partner was fine. That aside, comfy bed for sure.
