Location was fantastic, everyone in the Old Town whether knowing you or not were extremely friendly. All the staff at the Jenny Lind were wonderful, their warmth, friendliness, sense of humour and more made me wish I could have stayed longer. The room was superb, everywhere was spotless, the bed so comfortable. You would think that being over a pub it would be noisy but no, of course there is a murmur of noise and people calling out their goodbyes at the end of the evening but, it was all so happy and friendly. They did have a live band in the pub and quite frankly, they were fantastic too.

Hmm, the only think I did not like was going in to Hastings which seems worlds apart from the Old Town. There was so much fighting, drunks and those on drugs either laying on the street or trying to approach you as zombies. I would advise anyone, if you are going to stay at the Jenny Lind, then keep to the Old Town, all the facilities are there without having to go in to the main Hastings town center.

There wasn't any breakfast but I knew this before I booked. From the moment I booked in, there was genuine warmth from all the staff, they are totally incredible people. Everything you could have wanted in the room was there and oh, the place was spotless. One would think that rooms above a pub would be noisy but no! of course one would hear a hum of noise but, it was happy noise, laughter, everyone so cheery. Even when the pub was closing, people were calling out their goodbyes and they were happy, no problems. They had a live band there on the 2nd night and they were brilliant! Going to the old town Hastings is like being in a different world because of their genuine warmth and friendliness no matter if they knew you or not. I met the Manager of the Jenny Lind, she was great, so efficient and yet so genuine in her care for not just the patrons of the pub but the guests that were staying also. I could go on and on but all I will say is, if you need a relaxing break amongst the most genuine people I have met in a very long time, it HAS to be the Jenny Lind.

There was nothing about the Old Town or the Jenny Lind that I did not like but, what I did not like was having to go in to Hastings which was like walking in to another country, boarded up shops, fights, people laying on the ground drunk, drugged up people walking towards you like zombies...like a mini Beirut, Hastings was horrendous and so, Old Town it has to be if you want the perfect break, there is none of the problems that exist in main Hastings town centre in the Old Town.

The pub has character and is in the old part of Hastings. The bar area is a music venue, with community shanty singing on Thursday evenings, then other advertised regular misic with bands on other evenings. The rooms and ensuites are recently decorated to modern standards. Good shower (over the bath), with steady flow and temperature. We had a nice view over the town from the room window. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. I had asked on the phone about places for breakfast and a list written just for me was waiting at check-in.

We liked it all but there are things to bear in mind - the rooms are up a steep flight of stairs; you will hear the music on music nights; the pub doesn't do breakfast but there are some good cafés for this within a few minutes walk; no air-con but you wouldn't expect it in a room like this.

Really nice pub and the room was very homely. The staff were brilliant! Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay, less than a 5 minutes walk down to the beach as well!!! The room was amazing with a lovely view of the East Hill Cliff Railway/Cable Car, as well as having a kettle for making tea, coffee and hot chocolate which was all provided. They left complimentary glass bottled water in the mini fridge for us as well as leaving glasses in there to keep them cool and of course milk for the hot drinks.

Unfortunately the boiler broke during the night so there was no hot water when me and my partner woke up. However, after checking out, the staff phoned me and apologised for this and offered me 20% of the booking fee back which was very kind of them. It wasn't their fault what so ever, these things happen and for them to phone up and apologies was very appreciated. Also the WiFi wasn't the greatest but if you have an iPhone you can easily set up your hotspot to the TV so you can stream Netflix etc.

Our staff contact Seb was great at explaining the room and the safety requirements. He answered our questions very well. The Jenny Lind itself looked to be a great pub! Sadly we didn't grab a drink this time, but next time, for sure! The room was very clean and quiet, and the bathroom facilities were great–we had a bathtub!

The matress for the bed could have used a topper or something to have made it a bit more comfortable. Also, there was a local BT wifi but my friend and I couldn't use this on our phones. I was able to use it with my iPad, though.

By the time we got to the Jenny Lind we had stayed in several other inns so we were prepared for a tiny room with an even tinier bathroom. While the room was small, it had more space than almost every other place we'd stayed, and the bathroom was downright spacious. The staff was also very kind, leaving us a lovely card in our room when they learned it was our honeymoon trip. They were very responsive with answers to my parking questions and gave a great suggestion for a breakfast place in the next town. We ended up spending half the morning there!

The only tricky part of staying there was the parking for our rental car. The nearest lot is quite a walk. However, they had warned us about this ahead of time, and we were able to drop off our luggage before parking.

Great location. Walking distance to the Old Town in Hastings yet quiet at night. Friendly staff. Nice double room with tea and coffee making facilities and bottles of water in the small fridge. Close to our favourite fish restaurant: Webbe's.

No nearby parking. We used the Rock a Norre car park when we arrived on Saturday morning which is expensive at £13 for 24 hours. We then had to top that up another £9 to stay in the town on the Sunday.

Location was perfect! Rooms were cosy and very comfortable - extra pillows and blankets too! The room came with all the amenities you could need and was lovely and clean! Couldn't fault it ☺️ the staff were always really helpful, we arrived before check in and were able to pick up the keys and drop bags off so we didn't have to wait around too!

Was a little bit noisy at night but that's to be expected when staying at a pub, couldn't really fault it!

I had a fantastic one-night stay at this gem in the heart of Hastings Old Town. The pub offered a great selection of ales, fantastic live music, and friendly staff. The accommodations were clean, undisturbed, and well-equipped, with a separate entrance for convenience. The bar had reasonably priced beverages, and my room, with ample amenities, was spotless. Despite the lively pub atmosphere, it was surprisingly quiet for a peaceful night's sleep. Excellent value, prime location, and overall, a highly recommended experience in Hastings.

The Jenny Lind is a lovely characterful pub with friendly staff. The location on the old High Street means you are based in a really interesting area. It is a stones throw from the beach, restaurants and other features of Hastings. We travelled by train, so it was a straightforward walk from the station. The bedroom was lovely with big windows with views of the sea in the distance. Cosy court yard gardens are great to sit for a few hours. It was also very good value for money. We will definitely return.

Nothing. The accommodation was just as described in the text and photos. We enjoyed it just as it was.
