Clean and roomy in my room. Easy access late evening.

Room too hot during night and could not turn thermostat down. Did not open window as room on ground floor. I should of seeked help with thermostat but did not have time as busy arranging internment of my husbands ashes and visiting my brother who is on end of life. When booking with Booking.com a Spa Hotel I was not amused to find it costs extra for Spa. Having booked Hotels all over the world this is first time I have ever been asked to pay after initial booking for use of swimming pool. For this reason I shall never book with Bannatyne again.

We had dinner in the bar which was nice, most of the staff were friendly and very helpful. Good selection for breakfast. Lovely big bed, the shampoo and conditioner left for us in the bathroom was a nice touch . Woke up to the birds singing in the morning really nice.

We booked through a third party not on the hotels website so we had to pay extra for the Spa, which considering the room was quite expensive I thought that let the hotel down.

Breakfast very good, lots of choice. Lovely old building, lovely gardens. The room was warm and inviting. The front of house staff and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful.

Dinner very limited choice, had to ask for a side salad as not on the menu, and then charged £5 for a very small bowl. The waitress became grumpy and inpatient because we did not make our minds up quickly. We asked to see the bar menu as well. At that point, there was only one other table in the restaurant. The room was warm and inviting with everything you need, but the bed was uncomfortable, the door did not fit properly, so the light from the hallway came in. There was noise from the breakfast room below late at night and the pillows were really uncomfortable. I was glad to get up! This is where the hotel let itself down.

An intimate feel to the hotel like you're staying at a residential Manor house rather than a clinical hotel. A homely feel but with four star trimmings. I loved waking up early in the morning and walking out the front door for a run and being greeted by the reception staff warmly. Very comfortable, relaxed feel to the place, peaceful and serene. The gardens and patio are a wonderful place to give yourself some thinking time, or sit and socialise with friends and family. The place just flows with positive energy and non-intrusive staff who are never far away for service or help. The breakfasts and dinners are very good. I shall definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Hastings without a doubt.

Nothing.

Room, tea and coffee, private bathroom, helpful staff from booking through our stay. Clean, lovely garden. Breakfast lovely and evening lovely too! Lovely staff! Bar was bright and colourful and relaxing. Cocktails lovely and bar food excellent.

It was unusually hot for September temp up to 30 degrees. It was disappointing that there wasn't any saved availability for treatments at the spa for hotel guests. Luckily I able to book a spa day on line as the treatments had to be booked a month in advance as they where so busy with club members and general customers. Spa Staff excellent. It would be good if I could book a treatment when booking the room. The hotel decor looks tired on the outside needs some TLC.

Our room was lovely, staff left a card & treats in the room for my Husbands Birthday, a very nice surprise. Reception staff were very friendly & helpful.

Disappointed with the sandwiches we ordered at the bar, we ordered 2 they were both stale, we addressed this with the bar manager who assured us she would get 2 more specially made, when we received these they were like cardboard even staler than the first 2 sandwiches, at £8.50 a sandwiche I expected better quality, the bar manager was very embarrassed when I returned the 2nd plates back, so had to go out hungry to a wedding, Breakfast the next morning wasn’t much better, the buffet was not replenished had to ask 3 times for eggs, mushrooms & plates, each time I was told they were coming, the plates came 2 different times, gave up on having eggs in the end. That was disappointing.

For a standard room it was exceptional. Size of room And facilities were really good. All the staff were really pleasant and attentive. Breakfast choice was really good, would suit everyone. The gardens were lovely and well tended. The only downside we found were the bar meals, not very good for the price, only ate one night and put us off from using again. My husband had rabbit and bacon pie, filling was fine but pastry was so hard it was almost impossible to cut. Bar staff said she would let kitchen know but never heard anything back/. I had fish and chips, small fish that was a bit dry and French fries which again were a little overdone

Bar meals were the only thing that we found unsatisfactory which was a shame

The room was well appointed. The garden was beautiful and relaxing. Breakfast was varied and generally good quality. We ate evening meals in the bar, which offers a limited menu - the food was freshly prepared and of a high standard. Staff were polite and attentive. The setting of the hotel is excellent.

The room (Number 11) was located above an area where vehicles came and went early in the morning, which disturbed our sleep and was annoying. Although otherwise well appointed, the room had no drawers in which to store clothing. No Welcome Pack was provided, which we found frustrating as we could not find some information we needed. We noticed reference to an App when checking out - this was too late! The bathroom was beautifully finished, but when taking a bath, it was awkward to access the soap and gel dispensers - either further dispensers should be installed at a lower level or bars of soap should be provided.

The staff were friendly and helpful, it was clean very spacious. The food was tasty.

The rooms could do with some paint work done and make it look all fresh the hotel was way too hot and couldn't open the sash windows as there old , the menu was very limited and small I think this needs updating to offer a more selection. Shame I couldn't get in for spa treatments as I was looking forward to having this whilst I was there the pool area was good and clean enjoyed my swim apart from hitting my foot as it was a little shallow.

Our room was very comfortable and it was extra helpful being on the ground floor. Breakfast was excellent and dinner was good - service and cleanliness was excellent throughout our stay. Thanks to all the staff.

Our only problem, and not really a complaint was with regard to the evening dinner. As we are both or a certain age there are limits to what we could eat, and as we were staying for a full week the menu became a bit repetative, but this problem was solved by us going to get a meal in the bar on two occasions.
