This Inn is located perfectly for the Trumpington Park and Ride to both Addenbrookes Hospital and Cambridge city, and for the pretty area around Grantchester. The room (we were in room 8) was simple - basically a motel-style - but with a very large, very comfortable bed. Breakfast was included, and the cooked breakfast was done freshly to order, with good quality food. There's plenty of parking, and the staff are most welcoming and friendly. The bonus was a choice of quality real ales and ciders - plus good food - in the bar!

The bathroom is very basic. There is plenty of space, so the shower cubicle could have been less cramped, and even could be a walk-in wet room style. The shower flow itself was weak, and the fittings in the cubicle a little loose. The wash basin did not drain well. Also, whilst the cooked breakfast was excellent, there was a limited choice of the cold options, for example no fresh fruit and no natural yogurt.

The location was brilliant, and it was ideally situated for the bus to Cambridge as well as a stroll to Grantchester. Was also close to local amenities such as fuel station and shop as well as a fish and chip shop and an outstanding kebab van. The room was very clean and well equipped. Air conditioning was top knotch, and the water was lovely and hot. Supplied toiletries were top quality also. The bed was excellent and very big. The staff were excellent and very attractive to our wants and needs. The food was excellent and plentiful. The bar staff were excellent and knew their trade.

To be honest, I can not think of a single thing that we didn't like Even the weather was great.

Beautiful setting, chalets in pub garden. Really well furnished with aircon. Food and setting was amazing. There are around 8 chalets built in the gardens of a fantastic pub. The gardens were lovely. The pub is a low ceiling wood beamed friendly old place with plenty of very nice beers at London prices, and a good selection of very tasty food at very reasonable prices. Very laid back atmosphere although timings are very strict. Booking in is only from 16.00 as the pub only opens at that time. Breakfast again is strictly at the times given. The chalets are furnished with showers and aircon, as well as smart TV's and a reasonable selection of hot drinks, and facilities to make them. The furnishings are reasonably sparse but very functional and well maintained. Five minutes from Trumpington Park and ride and Watroise, 20 minutes from Grantchester (Walking). Good large car park.

The beds were incredibly uncomfortable. A foam mattress on a hard box bedframe. Really uncomfortable. Sleep was quite difficult. This was the only downside. Other than this the stay was perfect.

I was a little worried when we first arrived to have lunch before booking in later that day but Lunch was very nice and the team behind the bar were pleasant. When we arrived back later in the day the vibe had changed, the car park was full and booking in to our room was quick and easy, the evening team were really friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was basic but comfortable and clean and I had a really good night's sleep. This morning at breakfast the ladies who were taking our breakfast order were very nice, friendly and efficient.

Our air conditioning did not work, a team person/manager(? )Did try and fix the problem but it kept coming up as an error, however lucky for us it wasn't a really hot night and we had 2 windows so could get a through draft. Having said that it wouldn't stop me going back to stay there again.

The rooms are separate to the pub, on the ground floor. Good pub food served from 4.30pm. Beds are extremely comfortable, good sized TV. Ensuite clean. Ample car parking. Waitrose is round the corner. Easy reach of the American cemetary and visitors ' centre. A very good English breakfast served by lovely ladies. Excellent venue to see Cambridge, near the park and ride.

There are a few steps into the pub to watch out for if you are elderly or have any sight issues, however one bedroom is aimed for the customers with disabilities and has a slope into the room and a very good wet room.

The pub is just gorgeous! The rooms felt like a motel, I liked the fact that the doors led onto the garden. Breakfast was fantastic! A full English, toast, yoghurt and juice with tea. Really nicely cooked too. I ate a meal in the pub and that was lovely too. The room was spacious and the shower worked fine. It was warm enough too. Staff were lovely. The chap on the bar was very sweet and very helpful. The ladies at breakfast were also so welcoming.

We really don’t have any real complaints. The only things were the bathroom could do with a good scrub. It wasn’t unhygienic, just old and needs maintaining. The beds were lumpy too.

The staff were fantastic. Could not do enough to help out. And the food was plentiful and very tasty. Excellent breakfast. Also, a very hot evening meal. The bedrooms are in a separate annex, but there is a covered walkway from the main bar to the accommodation. Also a good sized car park.

The rooms were a bit tired and a bit basic. It did have a TV and kettle and tea/coffee making facilities, and whilst the furniture is pretty old it was certainly functional. Good that there was a table in the room, and the Lord Byron had helpfully provided information on local interests. The en-suite had seen better years, but it did include a shower.

Friendly staff. Nice room. Free parking. Massive bed and nice shower. Very easy to drive to Cambridge. We didn't try the food as we ate out in Cambridge but what other people were eating looked really nice.

Cooked breakfast could be bigger, but tasted really good. Bar closed at 10:30 with a 20 minute drinking up time (although it was a Sunday I guess) but we still thought that was early. A later checkout would also be nice. 10:30 is a little early, but we were aware of that when we booked. We asked for an extra 15 minutes but this was declined. No real complaints about this though.

Excellent location, very quiet. Good size room which was wonderfully warm when we arrived on a very cold day with snow and ice everywhere. The staff were very friendly, especially Alan who runs an excellent establishment. Fabulous atmosphere and good quality food on the menu. The breakfast was substantial and brought to us with a cheery smile each morning. Great biscuits supplied with tea, coffee and hot chocolate! Plenty of car parking available.

Nothing - except the shower cubicle is a bit on the small side.

Really friendly staff, right from check-in through to dinner and breakfast the next day. Everything about the room was comfortable, and an extra heater had been brought in as it was so cold outside. I'm aware other guests have commented in reviews on noise from the beer garden but this wasn't a problem in January (!). And great location in a quiet side street. Next time we'll take advantage of the Park'n' Ride into Cambridge though as parking in the city itself is a bit of a nightmare.

Nothing! We loved the Lord Byron - although it's straightforward pub accommodation it's a really high standard for the price we paid. We will definitely be back next time we're in Cambridge.
