Beautiful property set in the midst of a wonderful landscape and a quiet village. We had a refreshing view of the hills covered with clouds from our window. The room was clean, ample space and the toiletries were excellent. The staff was very helpful. Breakfast was fresh and delicious with lots of options. The food at the restaurant was great as well. All in all a very peaceful and relaxing stay.
There isn’t proper ventilation in the bathroom. On one of the nights the room was uncomfortably too warm causing disruption with our sleep, this was eased by opening the windows, which might need a bit of repair as they were a bit hard to open. The shelf in the bathroom is angled in a way that when we tried to keep the shower and shampoo bottles they kept sliding off and falling on the floor.

The location of the hotel is close to amenities but the grounds around the hotel make it feel very rural. The view from our room is spectacular and the room is spacious with a huge comfortable bed. We stayed in a superior room, The staff are lovely and very friendly, especially George in the bar, who makes friends with every dog, Dog friendly everywhere except the dining room.
Although the bathroom was very bright and clean, the shower had a rain shower head, which I personally do not like, I would prefer a hand held shower attachment, or bath.

The rooms were lovely. I think we had an unasked for upgrade as we were given a four poster room. The water was hot and the shower was very good. Breakfast service was outstanding. The food was very good. The dining room and bar are really grand and felt like a much more expensive hotel. I love that this hotel still has it's character.
The only thing I could see that would have been an improvement would have been if the bar staff had turned the radio off when live music was playing and if the staff had kept the bar open a little longer (It shut quite promptly with no warning.) I wish I could enjoy a longer stay.

Booked this hotel as a stop off on the way to Ullapool for ferry, the night we stayed was during a weather warning with rain, and lord did it rain, from check in to check out it was great. We left early to catch ferry mainly for any issues on the roads with the rain and snow was expected. so I can't comment on breakfast as we missed it due to weather, but personally I would say its well worth the money, and the bar staff was amazing, my grandson wanted a mars bar what they didn't sell, she came back with a selection box, I will always remember this hotel as its the first place I managed to split the G (if you know you know) overall great stay and I would recommend and I would go back

Friendly staff. Bedroom well equipped, spacious, clean and comfortable. Bath with rains however over. Dinner was very good, and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good, self-service buffet. In the evening we ordered some sandwiches to take away after breakfast. In the morning they gave us two packed-lunches (sandwiches, crisps, chocolate bar, apple & a drink). All for £13 - absolute bargain 😃. Would definitely stay again, and would consider using other hotels owned by this group.
Nothing to complain about

Welcoming staff, very clean comfortable room. Decor a little dated but at the price I wasn't bothered and it was perfect for my needs. Decent size for single room, even had bath in the bathroom which was a bonus. Quiet in the evening, very restful (thought I'd be woken by creaky floors but never heard any other guests noise).
Radiators could use thermostats as had to open a window and feel that's a waste. Mattress very firm which I like but others may not. Otherwise it was great.

What a lovely place! We had a superior twin room and it was just that, superior. It was clean, comfortable and had an amazing rain shower. We had evening meal and breakfast which was excellent. Beautiful gardens to walk our dogs who were also made to feel welcome. But most of all the staff, the owners should be very proud of them, all the staff we met were so friendly, helpful and professional, they made our stay perfect. Great value for money and we are already planning our next stay.

Great location for local walks with spectacular views. A tip, leave by the hotel's side access and keep walking uphill (road turns into a path between two fields), to the stone maze, then round the hill, and over the 'Cat's back', the views are stunning (wear waterproof boots if it has been wet recently, the path can get muddy and a bit overgrown out of season). The hotel's side exit is a bit hidden but it saves you going down the hotel's drive and back up the road at the side of the hotel. The hotel itself is a nice old hotel building in a beautiful town. The staff were very nice. Next time I might take my mountain bike, it looks like the old railway line to Dingwall is now a several km path.
I was there out of season so not everything was open in town. But in season more than enough just in Strathpeffer for a weekend/long weekend break.

The hotel was a proper old fashioned Scottish hotel. It was a bit tired in places but was full of charm and little nooks to sit in. The rooms were big and had all the amenities we needed. Breakfast was good and the porridge was great. As we stayed for a few days, we had a volume of dinners and the food was tasty and well presented. Mae was a great waitress and always made sure we had everything we needed.

It's a handsome looking hotel inside and out. I arrived late in the evening and after a brief conversation with Jolanta when I said I'd be leaving before breakfast I was offered a packed lunch which was gratefully accepted. When I made my reservation I knew I'd be working late and leaving early so I took no notice of breakfast availability and can't say if it was included in my room rate. I then went up to my room where I was very pleased to see a spacious and well appointed resting place. I'd be happy to return at another time but on a leisure basis to enjoy what the Ben Wyvis has to offer.
Just the noisy guest next door who had a very loud voice when making her phone call!
