Parking outside front door is always a good start. Reception in a little termoil as changes underway to accommodate some new features. The blackout curtails are a nice feature. room was spacious. Amusing feature was the directions to bedrooms on the first floor with rooms 3 to 10 to the left and rooms 11 onwards to the right, I was in room 2 ... where?
The double glazing in the bedroom was defective and it needed an excessive amount of central heating to balance the draught from the window defect.

A very traditional hotel, which was well presented. Friendly and helpful staff. Everything was fine, but little stood out as being exceptional. The room allocated to me was a very large and spacious bedroom with sufficient comfortable chairs, workspace and also another table for coffee etc. The en-suite bathroom was a bit dated, but totally satisfactory with bathtub (as I requested) and a shower over it. I did not partake in any food at the hotel, as I had made other arrangements, and hence my decision was not based what I saw at the hotel. The off street parking was adequate and easy to use.
On arrival, reception was not staffed, and there was a bell which was inadequate in that it alerted nobody to the fact that I had arrived. I had to go and find a member of staff in the bar. As far as I could see there were no bedrooms which were accessible without climbing stairs etc. The key to room 2 was difficult to insert and use easily. Lighting in the bedroom was abysmal. The hotel was still in 'Covid' mode as far as the bedroom was concerned, with disposable cups (bad for the environment) and flimsy plastic glasses. As the hand sanitiser at the entrance of the hotel wasn't working, the hotel was not generally taking the Covid risk that seriously.

The management team were excellent and very welcoming.
The cooked breakfast could have been better. The sausage was dry and the scrambled eggs the same. This comment should be taken in the spirit intended. Honest feedback for Will and his team to improve their service. I know that is their aim. Thanks team.

Staff was wonderful, room was spacious and on-site parking was a nice surprise. Shower and bathrooms were nice.
So-so Wi-Fi, shower could have used instructions or a label for the switch (didn't know we needed to use the red switch except by trial and error), the phone didn't work (not a huge deal) and the beds were AWFUL. It felt like we were sleeping on a box spring and not a mattress. I would have given a higher rating but for the beds - there's a lot of things I can overlook when it comes to accommodations, but priority #1 should always be to good quality mattresses!

We had a large, interesting room with a lot of character. Big windows and nice tartan theme. Very convenient to restaurants and shops, plus ruins of an old priory. Comfy bed. Lively bar on premises but room very quiet.
We stayed 3 days and had to get the door cards reprogrammed on the 2nd day because they weren't programmed correctly the first time.

The character of the place, the wonderful, welcoming, hard working helpful staff with great suggestions of where to visit, pub with a great selection for the end of the night, great location to use as a base for exploring the Highlands, everything is available as the hotel is on the mainstreet and ample parking.
Although the food is good, not too many local dishes on the menu, as a local hotel I would suggest having a more locally based menu, traditional but well executed and well presented local dishes with the best produce the Highlands have to offer :)

The staff were very friendly, restaurant nice and room very comfortable and convenient as we were travelling with a dog.
The presence of a touring party meant using the restaurant was restricted and while we were warned in the first night, on the second we were not.

What a great hotel! The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We only spent the one night so we didn't have a chance to eat at the restaurant.
My only complain was that they didn't have an elevator, but staff did help us with our bags since we weren't on the first floor.

Good traditional hotel and family run. Very traditional, great staff, very welcoming, good food at dinner and breakfast. Nice open fires and traditional decorations.
Our room was small and the ensuite was tiny - really tiny. Very difficult to sit on the toilet as the sink was in the way and at the other side you had to squeeeze past the sink to get in and out of the shower. Not possible to bend over the sink to shave unless you open the door - get the picture - really small.
