Beautiful character house hotel, nicely styled room at the top of the stairs under the roof with good bedding. We had a lovely breakfast the following morning served by one of the young staff.

If you have bigger luggage, the stairs may be a challenge (no lift facilities). The room looked lovely but there were a couple of maintenance issues - I was almost too scared to use the vanity sink tap as one side was broken/missing and the other side was very unstable. We had a great dinner but they seemed a little under-staffed, we were served by a young waiter who did a great job trying to keep up (the maître-de didn’t follow up on things very well and the young staff did the best they could).

The staff was friendly and very helpful. Great view from our window, the bed was comfortable, and everything was extremely clean. Nice complimentary cookies and coffee/tea/water in the room. Breakfast was yummy.

No elevator so had to carry to suitcases to the third floor. Shower hard to get in and out of. Neither of these are dealbreakers though.

Great location in Kingussie and also close enough to Aviemore. Sarah was very friendly and was always ready to make recommendations on places to visit both in Kingussie and further afield in Scotland. The family room had two seperate bedrooms which was ideal for giving everyone a little more space. The breakfast was delicious and portions were huge. We ate in the restaurant due to not much being open in town in February - would defiantly recommend it.

We were just there for one night. The accommodation was well positioned in the village, the room was good and the hotel was tastefully decorated. We were welcomed by Peter who was friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the evening and met Liz, the chef. The food was excellent and she was a delight. Good menu and excellent range of gins. Breakfast was exceptional (again down to Liz). It was freshly cooked and care had been taken over the choices available. Netflix and Prime were available, which was an unexpected bonus.

There is no lift. This could be difficult for people with mobility issues.

Robert , the chef was delightful. And helpful with his advice of local things to do. So was the new trainee (who VERY KINDLY helped us with our luggage, bless him ) and the girls at the bar.. .Restaurant great. Room nice with good bed and beddings and towelsBUT...

NO elevator and it should be said. Bathroom small and with no space or place toput things. The shower had ittle water and uncontrollable temperature The second day the room was NOT serviced, and this, honestly, is a bit strange. When questioned, Peter said "we never do it the first day"!

Super Hotel. Staff were first class and worked extremely hard to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Great location for exploring the Cairngorms. Brilliant room with space to relax during our 4 night stay. Breakfast and restaurant food were all excellent. Many thanks to the McKinnes team.

Nothing to dislike.

It is a beautiful building and grounds are lovely. The bedroom was a great size and had lots of character. The view out the window looking over towards the hills with all the autumnal colours was a perfect way to start the day relaxing with my coffee. It is located within 5 minute walk of the train station and near all the local shops and cafes.

I had no complaints at all.

great staff, beautiful surroundings, delicious food; we visited 30.12-2.1. and joined the local NY celebrations with candle-lit procession. We woke up to a winter wonderland - everything covered with snow. We built a snowman, went for a hike along a trail adorned with Christmas ornaments & did some sledding. Our stay was epic. Thank you !!!

We arrived right after Christmas and had an emergency situation on the evening of our arrival. From the first moment the staff were excellent and went above and beyond what I would have expected. They were extremely helpful and kind in this stressful situation and tried to help in every way they could. We are very grateful for everything. Thank you so much once again, Peter and colleagues! Our rooms were spotlessly clean and spacious and the beds very comfy. Breakfast was ordered the evening before and was fabulous. Dinner had good options as well.

The hotel is in a beautiful spot and is decorated superbly. Staff were superb, albeit run off their feet. Food was tasty and the bar well stocked.

The price when dinners and breakfasts were added fair crept up, though this was all made clear and the quality was good. Could maybe have used another staff member in busy periods as took a while to place orders etc.
