Normally I don't write many reviews but I started this one before I'd even left the hotel. Really brilliant stay. The owners and the staff really do go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and make sure you're having a nice time, I felt really taken care of. I kept having to move my check in time back and they were so accommodating and understanding. I have dietary requirements (vegan) and they ensured that I was taken care of in that regard too. Plenty of options. Breakfast was great (cooked) and included which was fantastic with generous portions. The room was cosy, comfortable and well decorated and overall I felt I had everything I needed. The room and the hotel in general felt very 'homely'. The bar is great, many delicious beer options. Again the bar was very homely and I was worried that as a female solo traveller I would feel intimiated drinking/eating alone in a pub but the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. I wish every hotel stay I have could be like this, I'll definitely be back soon with my partner this time. Glad to have found this hidden gem. Special shout out again to the owners and the staff whose hospitality and kindness really made my whole stay a wonderful experience.

Cozy homey atmosphere. Staff were super nice and helpful. Very good restaurant with fun quotes and decorations on the walls. Comfortable king size bed with nice heavy covers. Large bathroom with plenty of shelves and counters to put your things on (most hotels have nothing). Lots of furniture like an armoire, a desk, and a sitting chair with a small table, all that made it a bit crowded, but it was nice to have.

* the location, just off the A9, was perfect for us on our house hunting trip. * spacious room with very comfortable bed and quality down duvet and pillows. Large en suite shower room with very powerful electric shower. * excellent cooked breakfast. * delicious, generous portions of quality bar food. * really friendly, helpful staff. * spotlessly clean. * competitively priced accomodation.

* the decor and furnishing in parts of the hotel is a little bit dated (though ongoing modernisation).

We made a last minute booking while travelling. As it was a Monday, the restaurant was closing early and although we’d noted it in the welcome email, Chris took the time to call us and make sure we knew so we could stop on the way. Appreciated that! Breakfast was lovely and staff very friendly. Room was super clean and comfy, exactly what we needed!

The Glen Hotel is a nice pub/hotel on the main road through Newtonmore, landlord was very friendly and helpful, and the room was fine. Plenty of parking space. We had a good supper in the restaurant, and a good breakfast the following day. Some lovely local beers served in the bar, and although it shut mid evening there was another pub just over the road which the landlord had recommended. A good place for a stopover while touring Scotland.

Room was very comfortable, large double bed with all normal facilities. Shower over the bath. Breakfast selection was good, but as adaptable as you would wish. All served with a smile. Ate in the bar on both nights, again excellent, attentive service. Food was presented well and very tasty. A good selection of Beer's, (Cairngorm Brewery offering particularly good) Wines and Spirits.

Our room (9) was spacious and cozy warm despite the frigid conditions outside and it was full of thoughtful touches and a great place to while away a winter evening. Dinner was delicious, crafted from quality local produce, as was breakfast replete with tasty sausages, black pudding and haggis! The staff are all exceptionally welcoming and helpful, adding a layer of gilt to this perfect stay.

This hotel is a hidden gem. first, we were driving for hours and booked this hotel literally 20 minutes before we checked in. The moment we entered, I knew we had made an excellent choice. Though the restaurant closes at 19:30 and it was nearly 19:30, the owner was absolutely superb. They told us we can for sure order food. Tjis is a family run hotel. The food was delicious and the service was too. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Situated on a quiet street, the hotel offers parking. Breakfast was excellent. overall, it was a wonderful stay and we loved it. we cannot wait to be back.

There is nothing to dislike. This is a wonderful hotel.

I was led to believe they did not have king beds available, but we had one. The food in the dining room was quite good, and the Letterbox was closed that weekend so there appeared to be no other option. The bathroom was large.

I’m not fond of tub/shower combinations but at least there was a shower curtain so the water wasn’t everywhere. Nice they are closer to the train station.
