The room was basic but perfectly adequate and had everything we needed - a single bed each, a nice long desk and a chair. There was a TV on the desk, which we only used once, but because it was a long desk there was plenty of room. There was an en-suite bathroom which was perfectly adequate too, though not that well-ventilated (so I guess they need to dry it out now and again). The parking bays are a generous size, and the design of the blocks are like an American motel. It's near the main bus and rail station and a very easy walk into the city centre and old town, with plenty of places to eat and drink In the other direction, it is easy to get up Beverley Road or across to Princes Avenue on foot. The staff are excellent, cheerful and really helpful - I left my keys in the room and was able to fetch them from the reception desk later after I had checked out; also on the second evening, a man had a fall in the car park and when I led him into the reception and asked for first aid they dealt with him quickly and skilfully and got him patched up with the minimum of fuss. The cleaning staff were all very friendly and cheerful and accommodating. The whole place has a very pleasant atmosphere.

I think they are doing up their restaurant facilities, so there's not much available there as I write, but I suspect that will change soon. They did warn us of this in the emails beforehand. They have shutters on the windows, but the pole-and-crank device inside the room to open and close these is not in every room, and that included ours. The manager happened to be there when I queried this and he apologised and said he would get that looked at - I was buying a coffee at the time and they let me have it for free as a gesture, which was nice. Of course, its great that they have any shutters at all, not many places do, and again I suspect the missing ones will be addressed soon.

Very central location with large secure car park - I was pleasantly surprised as I stayed here a long time ago and have since read some bad reports of problems at the Hotel - I was greeted in reception by friendly and helpful staff and my room was located on the top floor roadside which can be a bit noisy but after all this is a very central location on a busy junction - The room had been re-decorated and was spotless - Clean fresh white linen on the bed with both pillow and mattress protectors - Fresh white towels and a very clean bathroom recently re-painted with clean fittings and tiling - All the lights worked and the kettle was spotless (Free tea/coffee/sugar etc provided) - Yes the hotel is now dated and harks back to the layout and interior of the original Campanile Hotels when they first came to the UK - The exterior needs a repaint and the external floor covering and stairways are in urgent need of refurbishment - But no problem at all with my stay and I would go again - I did not use the bar or restaurant so can't comment on those - I expect that in the not too distant future this site will be re-developed but currently if nothing else a bit of original Campanile nostalgia.

External areas looking tired and staircases and walkways in urgent need or refurbishment - Noise on the roadside rooms is a problem but this is a very central location on a busy city centre junction - Requirement for photo id is a little unusual in the UK but I think this is due to past problems at the Hotel with it's 'motel' type layout - I did not experience any problems - The car park requires number plate entry on the system and if you forget the fines are excessive.

Myself and mu husband stopped here aa we were going to see She'd seven at Hull city hall. Perfect location as 10 minute walk to venue. Guy on reception really helpful and lovely. Room was toasty warm and very clean. Last minute booking and an absolute bargain.

Having to pay for the hotel car park on top of the room fee but tbf it was only £3.20. Also our room (14) faced the main road but we were so tired after the gig we didn't really notice the traffic noise.

spacious room, spacious bathroom. great location. i loved the fact that the windows had shutters so you could completely shut yourself in from the out side world, great for wanting to blackout your room.

only thing i didnt realise till after was the the cleaner had put hand santizer in the shower hair and body wash aswell as above the sink. so i would just recommend to double check before using as sadly i broke out in a skin reaction. otherwise fantastic all round.

The location of the hotel is excellent, with it being in the city centre, and really just a few minutes walk to the main retail areas. The hotel has lodge style rooms, with most, if not all, having their own front door access to outside. The rooms are very well set up, with ensuite bathrooms, and laptop friendly workspaces. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful as well.

There was nothing much unlikeable about the hotel at all.

Convenient for all that Hull has to offer, security assured by round the clock camera surveillance, Easy walking distance to nearest pub The Station (a cracking pint of Newark Castle in traditional surroundings) and an Asda a 2 minute bus rideaway; can't recomend enough all day rider ticket £4.50 by East Yorkshire Transport. This

This part of Yorkshire has now become a fully multiethnic community if you don't like it don't go,surrounding countryside remainsfirmly white. Cheapest haircut I've had in a long time.

I like the design of the place, two storey blocks with separate entrances to the rooms and a further block for restaurant and reception. The staff were friendly and helpful, sorting out a non-working television with a smile. The room was functional and comfortable.

I got the impression that the bar and restaurant were not top of priorities and, when returning at 10.45 fancying a pint, was disappointed to find the reception block shut up.

Was very clean and rooms was nice and warm comfy bed aswell, also like to add that this hotel has parking free of charge which some of the hotels near by didn’t have parking included in your stay and the location of this hotel is central 5mins walk to the centre of hull staff was amazing and check out time was very good some hotels want you out by 10.00 for your stay here you don’t have to be out till 12:00 which is fab. Deffo worth staying here for the price hopefully see you again soon for another stay

Campanile Hull is well located a short walk from Hull Interchange so is convenient for both bus and train travel. Although we were travelling by train there is a large car park for those arriving by car. Neither a plus or minus but useful for travellers to understand is that, unlike some other Campanile hotels, the rooms are in the style of an American motel with access directly from the outside.

Sadly the restaurant is closed but customers are allowed to order in takeaway food and a range of local takeaway menus is provided. However having enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at another Campanile we stayed in recently, i.e. in Washington, Tyne and Wear, the lack of on site catering was a touch disappointing. There was only one bedside table in the room but we were able to improvise a second using a chair and a removable shelf from a cupboard, which we put back in place before leaving.

The best thing about this hotel is that it offers free parking and is only a short walk from Hull city centre. The rooms are clean and functional and everything worked fine. We were facing the main road but weren't disturbed by the traffic noise with the windows and doors closed.

No real complaints - just be aware that the £15 dog charge is per night, not per stay. Also in warm weather I wouldn't want to stay there and have to have the windows open at night.
