The room was very clean. Breakfast was delicious and plenty. We also used the swimming pool and steam room. Easy access to local amenities. Pleasant green surroundings .

The shower screen is only half the size it should be.

Our experience at Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel had a lot of positives, but unfortunately, the service from the receptionist fell short. Starting with the good: the hotel’s communication before our stay was excellent. I received multiple emails leading up to our visit, which made me feel welcomed and excited. The hotel itself is spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained. Our room was clean, and when we had an issue with the heating, the staff were incredibly responsive. After calling the operator, a kind lady from the staff arrived promptly to fix the problem. She was professional and quick, ensuring that everything was working well, which was a relief since my husband, who is recovering from a stroke, needed to stay warm while I attended a wedding. Her efficiency and care really stood out. Now, for the not-so-good part: our experience with the receptionist was disappointing. We arrived at 2 pm, knowing check-in was at 3 pm, but I thought I’d ask if the room was ready. The receptionist was not welcoming and flatly told me check-in was at 3 pm. I accepted this, but was frustrated when I saw another guest being checked in before 3 pm while I was told to wait. It left me feeling confused about the inconsistency. Additionally, when we were finally checked in, the receptionist failed to provide basic information like the time and location of breakfast. This lack of communication felt like poor service, especially for such a large and otherwise well-run hotel. In conclusion, while the hotel itself and the rest of the staff were fantastic, the experience with the receptionist unfortunately took away from what could have been a flawless stay. With some improvements to reception service, Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel has the potential to be a top choice for travelers.

We booked very last minute and were able to get a privilege double room. On arrival the young lady that greeted us (I can’t remember her name) was lovely, really welcoming and got us sorted quickly. The room itself was large, very spacious and warm. The bed was very comfortable and definitely bigger than a standard double. Large window letting in plenty of light for getting ready. Tea and coffee facilities were great and an ironing board and iron there ready to use. The soaps, shampoo, conditioner etc and the hair dryer all great quality. Plenty of hangers available which was handy. The pool / health facilities were good, little worn and dated with an odd smell in the changing rooms but nothing too major. The kids swimming lesson took a bit out of our ‘relaxing vibe’ but hey it is what it is, we’re parents too. We didn’t have breakfast as had to leave too early but the checkout process was simple. Plenty of parking available and had no problem even when we returned very late in the evening.

If I was being picky I’d have to say the TV was very small considering the size of the room and how far the bed is. Luckily we didn’t need to use it other than background noise while getting ready but if I was staying longer it would have been annoying. The rooms are a little dated, clean but do have bits of paint missing and a few leather patches missing from furniture.

The hotel was very clean and looked very nice and welcoming. We went during christmas season and the decorations and christmas trees were beautiful. The staff were very friendly and got us checked in quickly. There were events taking place during our stay which we werent a part of which they checked with us and ensured our room was on the other side of the hotel so we werent disturbed by these which was fantastic and we appreciated that.

The bathroom decor was a bit old fashioned but apart from that, everything was all very good quality

Hotel was easy to find. Big car park. Cheerful efficient check in. Nice, modern air-conditioned, ground floor bar and restaurant area. Relaxed atmosphere, we felt at home straight away. Room big with huge, comfy bed. Pretty view of hotel garden with big trees and twinkley lights with inviting looking tables and chairs. Staff were very kind and helpful.

Room was nice and big but a bit bare looking. Bathroom had everything we needed but needed redecorating/updating. Hotel only provides 2 normal teabags, 2 other teabags, and a few coffee sachets. We were given all we needed on request. But come on guys, folks need more than 1 cup of tea each for 24 hours!!!!

Very friendly and helpful staff, could not fault them. Comfortable beds and clean rooms that were well equipped. Nice to have use of swimming pool included. Food at dinner was really well cooked (though very slow in arriving)

Noise from TV in room backing onto ours coming through thin wall. Shower is overhead and impossible to shower without soaking hair. Cost of breakfast exorbitant on top of room cost. Dinner service was very very slow ..1 +hour from ordering to arrival with no explanation or apology from the only member of staff serving. The restaurant was not busy either. These are only little things and (apart from the tv) did not spoil a really good stay in the hotel.

Its a nice place to stay, clean and tidy, no room issues. Location is very close to Castle Hill Hospital for appointments (one of the reasons we stated here) and quite close to Bridlington for a seaside day out (the other reason) The pool is nice and you can also use the gym The price of last min non-refundabke room was very good Overall a nice hotel

TBH, (and yes i know its a hotel so hotel prices) somethings are just plane taking the mick, like breakfast, £36 for 2 people...having stayed in many many hotels, this is just plan awaful for what was available (and we dont eat cooked breakfasts either) Evening meal was a very limited menu choice, and cost us £107 £13odd for a pint of cider and a glass of wine in the bar For those on a tight buget, there are other 'alternatives' to eat at within or close to walking distance Overall, it seems to be set up for reps with company credit cards, or make money from weddings Nice hotel, drop the food/bar prices a littke, and you would sell more and thus make more money, just a thought?

Spacious. The family room was lovely and large sized. The amenities were great. Even received a free drink when we arrived as our room wasn’t quite ready. By the time we sat fine with our drinks we were informed that our room was ready. Staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough to help. Travelled with a toddler who was upset at dinner time, didn’t catch the member of staffs name on shift last night but she was absolutely brilliant, tried to help and get the little one other food/drink and even let us take some of the cereal from the breakfast set up to take to the room (which the little one ate as soon as we got up there). Lovely place and would definitely recommend!

Only slight downside would be that the bathroom in our room was slightly dated, however everywhere was clean and couldn’t fault it

The property is very clean and located not too far from the City Centre. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The choice of breakfast was very good, continental and also cooked, which was cooked perfectly. The room was clean, presented well. The garden is well maintained and was beautiful to sit outside in the morning and see the wildlife that resides there.

The hotel could really do with an upgrade, it is outdated for a four star hotel. The room (107) had a hair dryer that did not work, it wasn’t much of a big deal, I’m sure it would have been replaced had I asked. The pool was quite cold, the steam room was over heated to the point of condensation droplets leaking onto the skin which was extremely hot and the jacuzzi was out of order, this was the most dissatisfying part of the stay, as I had purposely booked the hotel for this reason, so it was a huge shame about this. It would have been nice to have been informed about this via the website prior. Had I paid more for the room, I may have asked to be compensated based on this reason.

Our stay was pleasant. We enjoyed the hotel's swimming pool and appreciated its proximity to the shopping park and other attractions. The area is really nice, and the delicious English breakfast served each morning was a highlight.

We were unhappy to find a spider in our room on the first night. As someone who is very afraid of spiders, this made me extremely anxious. Additionally, after using the swimming pool in the evening, we were unable to open the door to our room. This was very upsetting, as we were wet and tired, and had to go down from the 2nd floor to the reception to ask for help.
