Great location, and the room was bigger than anticipated. The doorman was very lovely forgot his name, but he was the most welcoming and attentive of all the staff we came across. The reception staff came across as though everything was a bother for them, dismissive and not very welcoming, got that impression from check-in hence why we didn’t bother complaining about our room not being sufficiently clean. Breakfast was a long wait for it to come out, and when it did the food was cold. We’d ordered tea which didn’t arrive and was forgotten about until the end of our breakfast.
The room wasn’t very clean, looked like housekeeping did a rush job as there was previous guests hair everywhere mainly on the bed and bathroom and some dust and crumbs on some of the surfaces and floor.

Somehow the Dakota has managed to create an exclusive, high quality and luxury feel, whilst still maintaining an air of familiarity and inclusiveness. Often when staying in up market hotels there can be some pretension, this was not the case here. This is in no small way due to the staff. From check-in to check out we were treated with kindness and genuine friendliness, the reception staff chatted with us about our plans and could not have been more accomodating. Our bags were taken to our rooms whilst we were out as we arrived early and did not return until late. The standard room was immaculately presented we have travelled extensively, staying in top rated hotels all over the UK and wider world and The Dakota is probably the cleanest, most beautiful and comfortable standard room we have stayed in. No detail has been missed, from the artwork to the immaculate bathroom and perfect nights' sleep in an amazing bed.
Nothing.

I loved that we arrived almost an hour early to check in and our room was already ready. also as we walked in we had our bags taken from us and delivered up to our room so that we didn’t have to carry anything which i thought was a lovely touch. I also tend to check cautiously before using cutlery and drinking from cups especially from hotels and I was amazed to see that the cups were spotless as were the mugs and cutlery. the bed was incredibly comfy. as soon as I sat down on it I was amazed by how much I sunk into it because most hotels I’ve stayed in the mattress has been hard and cheap. having Sky in the hotel was something I had never ever seen before and it was amazing because we actually could make use of what was on and actually relax without having to watch programs I didn’t like. the shower was incredible and am actually quite gutted my shower isn’t like the hotels. I love that there was a dual shower head that you could both have on at the same time. also the temperature control was perfect. there was nothing about this hotel that I didn’t like. even the tea, coffee and hot chocolate tasted divine. if I never stay at this hotel again I will be devastated.

Lovely welcome from the reception team 🙌🏽 We stayed here for one night for an Elton John concert at Leeds Direct, banging location for going out and only a short walk to the Arena. Beds are super comfy and the room is lovely and spacious and bathroom facilities are brilliant! Also, the one and only Nigel Olsson was standing behind us upon arrival, so staying here when you are going to see a concert could have you running into the stars themselves!
Value for money is generally good, but I think breakfast should have been included for what we paid. But not a biggie!

The reception staff were very friendly and accommodating (a credit to the hotel). The room was spectacular with lovely bed linen… comfiest hotel beds in Leeds! Very spacious and more than enough room to relax. Cocktails were great and we loved the heated outdoor area. Lovely touch of chocolates in the room ok arrival for our birthday celebrations. Air conditioning was fantastic. Great selection of toiletries in the bathroom from The White Company. Sky TV was also a bonus! If you are looking for a hotel that is close to the bars and restaurants, then this is the place for you. We dined in Tattu which is just a stones throw away and the hotels rear entrance leads straight onto the infamous Greek Street with a fabulous choice of bars.
The staff in the bar were not great, unsure if they were just having an off night… however I heard other guests complaining about the speed and service they received in the bar area. We sat outside at the end of our evening to finish with a few cocktails, however a larger table behind us who were eating got all the service from the waiter, they got their drinks served in a timely manner… We were approached by another member of staff to ask if we wanted drinks - I explained that we had ordered about 25 minutes ago but I think the staff were too busy waiting on the table that was spending more money on food. This needs to be improved in order to keep customers in your bar! We could have had more drinks but the slow service meant we ended up getting tired.

Our go-to hotel when visiting Leeds, excellent city centre location, fabulous reception staff are always so helpful. Lovely peaceful room with stunning decor.
Dakota Leeds is still a fantastic place to stay but we felt standards were not quite as high as they were on our last visit. Side dish not delivered in restaurant - even after mentioning it to the waiter and him coming back to check which dish it was. Wine added to our bill that we hadn't ordered; charged for a double in the bar when we'd had a single, both drinks issues were rectified quickly and efficiently but we've never experienced any issues during previous stays so I'm maybe being a bit oversensitive about three in one evening.

This is a stylish place with a cool crowd. I liked the sexy aesthetic and level of comfort. Good bedrooms and comfortable bed. It's in a great location and very convenient for the city and getting around
Parking is a bit of an issue, but not a deal breaker. I was not made aware that breakfast was available in the hotel and no one advised me of this at check in. Every morning I went out to get fresh coffee (even in the rain) to a small coffee shop which was actually recommended by the very uninterested receptionist. I am very annoyed that this was NEVER expressed at check in. My partner is asthmatic and suffered a bit as we could not open the windows in the room, which are oversubscribed with far too much feather cushions, hairy and wooly throes etc. Notwithstanding that, the room and facilities I was aware of were good and what I expected. The breakfast issue was completely ridiculous and I am extremely annoyed about it.

Location was perfect, central and a short walk from the train station.
We have eaten in the restaurant previously and found it excellent. That is the reason we booked two rooms at the hotel for my daughter’s graduation and a meal the night before. I have to say on this occasion we were disappointed with the food. The staff were lovely and couldn’t be faulted. My daughter, who was graduating asked us not to complain. We probably will stay again but not eat dinner.

I liked pretty much everything, it’s in the center, modern, stylish, tastefully decorated. moodily lit. first class. The staff as you would expect in Yorkshire and super friendly and chatty. 10/10
There’s nothing to dislike. if I were pushed to find something, I’d say the menu is a little ‘try hard’. Chef is clearly one of those who subscribes to the notion each dish must have at least one ingredient the punter has never heard of or if he/she has, still doesn’t know what it is. And why don’t we? because we don’t like the sound of it or don’t want to take a chance, and order it….and yet it still important to put it on the menu 😵💫. the foods great by the way, so I’d say chef should be more confident with that and tone down the menu (I was told they were about to change it so let’s see.).

The staff were very good. Reception, bar, the guys on the door, the cleaners were all very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is very smart and well located and our room was very nice.
Small niggles really but these little things annoy me when it’s an otherwise great hotel. One of the towel hooks was missing in the bathroom and the other had the rawplug hanging out of the wall and was just hanging on. The illuminated shaving mirror didn’t work and the walk-in shower glass wasn’t long enough so I had to put a towel down to prevent a flood. I also felt that the bar closed too early. I wouldn’t expect it to stay open all night but this seemed to close around 23:30.
