I had a lovely stay in The YHA Liverpool, My first in a YHA facility. I met wonderful people. I have one anxiety and it was an anxiety whilst cooking in the kitchen. I know ye probably have the gas cookers for safety reasons, as I have given this some thought and the only conclusion I came to, was that if a visitor was using electric hobs and the hob rings were hot when a young teenager/child wanted to use the cooker, well it’s easy to put your hand on a hot ring not realising it was just turned off and still burning hot. However, the smell of gas on a couple of occasions when myself and another lady I was sharing a room with Cheryl, walked into the kitchen when some younger visitors where doing there best to feed themselves , was crazy. The gas knobs! were not turned off completely after use and the kitchen reeked off gas. A Nightmare situation!!!… A large clear sign ordering people who are using the gas cookers, to make sure the gas knobs were turned off properly after use. Other wise, this problem is a major incident waiting to happen. The clear sign in English and a few other languages should be placed on the cooker back drop ie on the wall behind the cooker, bid enough for the younger visitors too see and pay attention too!… Kind Regards Celina Heneghan.

Everything was super clean, the staff was extremely helpful, smiling, chatting and creating the great welcoming atmosphere this place has. Perfect location for a M&S Bank arena concert that I attended, but also for a weekend sightseeing - everything in walking distance. Very central, but silent and safe area, with big hotels nearby.

It was a bit hot in those very warm nights (28C) and the windows could not be fully opened. The staff explained their resons for limiting the windows (kids) and even offered a fan, so the problem was be resolved.

Great price for the UK Amazing friendly personnel The breakfast -for an additional price- is actually quite good It has the vibes of a family on a budget option kind of hostel, not a backpacker kind of hostel like you would expect from YHA, which makes it a bit of a different experience, a change of air

Not necessarily didn’t like but it is something to point out. This hostel -unlike most- accepts children In my case there was some kind of school excursion with about 80 kids that were quite noisy after 00:00, and some guests complained about it. Nevertheless, it is a hostel and you have to learn to deal with the cons that come with the big pro that is the price

"Thank you, YT Youth Hostel Liverpool L1 8, for being a safe haven during my stay in Liverpool! I was grateful to have a comfortable place to rest and recharge, especially when I was feeling lost and alone. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I even got a pleasant surprise when I accidentally left my phone on the table and found it in the same place after 10 min, outside on the court! It's little moments like these that make a big difference in a traveler's journey. Thank you for taking care of me, and I wish you all the best!"

Great staff, super clean, nice location, amazing breakfast! Super value @ £35 for my 3 person private room. Free parking was included!

My room was quite empty (aside from a bed, wardrobe and small cabinet). The windows were single glazed, so allowed in quite a bit of road noise - especially when emergency vehicles went past throughout the night. More furniture in the room or pictures on the wall, would help absorb sound (it was quite echoy). Recommend earplugs, and it would be much better! Maybe rooms on the other side to where I was, are not as noisy :) I would still stay again though, it was so cheap!

It exceeded my expectations, as I had never stayed in a hostel with two children. The staff were friendly, the bed linen and towels were really clean, and the bathrooms were clean. The best part was the shower, it's perfect, you can choose the water temperature you like. The room was nice and warm.

What could be improved is the cleanliness of the windows and curtains. It didn't affect our stay, but it would have been more pleasant. And the price of breakfast, which I found a little expensive for my pocket, is almost £10 per person. However, it was optional, so we went somewhere else to eat, and it was fine.

Everything, particularly the venue, if travelling by train book a ticket to Liverpool James Street, there is only one way out, note the wetherspoons right across the road for really cheap good good food and drink, turn right towards the sea front, turn left at the lights and 10 minutes straight head, left hand side is the venue. If going by bus, take one to Liverpool One and follow as if got off at James Street.

All good.. save keep the inner main door at night for warmth thanks. Other than that all all fab.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. As a female solo traveller I felt safe due to good security measures and the opportunity to book a female only room. The facilities were clean and the beds were comfy, so I had a good night rest. Even though the hostel was busy and filled with people, it was quiet during the night. The location was fantastic as it was near the Royal Albert Dock and the shopping centre.

The WiFi signal was a bit weak in my room, but it is a minor problem in comparison to all the good things the hostel is offering.

Nice hostel despite the wifi problem. Kitchen was big and well stocked. Beds were comfortable enough and the hostel was clean. The best bit was that the hostel was 100m from a grocery store. Convenient to get to Albert dock for all the tourist attractions. Liverpool public transport seems hopeless though so the Liverpool lime street station was a good 20 min walk away with no way to shorten the journey even with big bags. Nice safe area.

The wifi was UNUSABLE. This place would have been perfect if not for the fact that the wifi was completely broken. For all the days I was here it couldn’t hold a connection. I told the front desk numerous times and they tried resetting the modem. Please fix the internet!

It's a very affordable accomodation at a walking distance form all the main things to see and do in Liverpool. There is a free car park on site, which is convenient, but I notice the car parks around the area do get really cheap. Staff is friendly and the structure very nice.

There was a problem with the shower in the room, and cold water was coming. One of the people I was sharing the room with said she mentioned it to reception and that unfortunately it is a know issue. Other communal showers were working better, it's just a bit inconvenient that it's not the one in the room.
