Friendly staff, the hostel is open around the clock. Very good location, there were two subway stations within walking distance (under 10 minutes). Also the bus stopes were near and you could easily get everywhere from the hostel. There were different cafes/pubs, McDonalds, KFC and souvenir shops nearby. The breakfast buffet was good (boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, sausages, beans, fruits (apple, orange, banana), cereal, muffins, nutella, toasts (+toaster), croissants, butter, jams, hams, tomatoes and cucumber, coffee, tea, milk, juice, water). There was a TV, table, closet and kettle with cups (+ coffee, tea and sugar packets) in the room. Good value for the price!

Rooms are small and stuffy (in the summer). No AC but we had a fan in our room that helped. The beds were quite small, double beds for two people were only 52 inch/147 cm wide. Very small bathroom (one shower head was leaking). Our rooms were on the second and third floor and the stairs were quite narrow. The wifi was not very reliable but it worked alright at some places and at some times. The bed sheets were not changed during our 6-night stay. The staff took our used towels from the bathroom, did not change them and folded them onto the bed each morning getting them mixed up (there was no "do not disturb/clean" sign), bins were emptied every day, though. Building had thin windows and old frames that would definitely let cold in in winter.

To begin with, we found the location most convenient and suitable for our plans. Situated in a not-so-busy street between Paddington Station and Hyde Park, we were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to, including the City and Southbank. Our room on the 3rd floor was just large enough for the two of us, but how much time do you spend in your room when in London? Our expectations were utterly exceeded by the breakfast which, although the room wasn't so large, was rather substantial and offered a great variety.

There is not so much to mention - the room might have been a little larger, but for the little time we spent there it was OK. As for certain guests, you cannot hold the hotel staff responsible, can you?

There was 4 of us. The room was good fit. It's not fancy or anything, but it had everything we needed and location is great. Paddington station is few minutes away, on the other side is Hyde park. Shower and toilet is quite small, but you could use them just fine. Room had fridge and microwave. Breakfast was also nice, area was a little tight. On the last day we had to leave early, before hotel breakfast. When we asked, we got ourselves breakfast the night before, which was very nice.

The only thing that comes to mind, there aren't too many surfeses to put stuff. There isn't elevator. We requested beforehand and got the room on the first floor.

Firstly, all the stuff were amazingly helpful and respectful, the rooms were being cleaned daily, the breakfast was all you can eat buffet that was suitable with various diet conditions. The cleanness and breakfast were the best parts of our stay. We have stayed in a twin room and even though the room was considered as small, the storage was more than enough, there were lots of different plug sockets such as usb etc. And the equipment in the rooms were also enogh, we had 2 fans to keep the room chill. Plus, on the flat screen tv we had netflix and other kinds of entertainment platforms ready to the guests' use. I think these features of the hotel should be pointed out, they were amazing! Additionally, I have dropped my ring into the sink but with the stuff's help they managed to give it to me the other day before we check out. I will be staying at the same place for my next London holiday.

The bed was comfortable. The breakfasts were better than I expected - there was a good choice of buffet items including scrambled egg, baked beans, hash browns, cereals and salad vegetables. The location was good, within walking distance of Hyde Park and 4 minutes from Paddington Station.

The carpets and decor were starting to look a bit tired. The en suite bathroom was a bit cramped but manageable for a couple of days.

Brilliant location 5 mins from Lancaster Gate tube Kensington Gardens over from the tube There is a traditional pub and Chinese 2 mins and a choice of pub Italian Indian chippy opposite way The room was clean got everything needed, plenty of storage, bed was comfy did book early and requested a room with balcony , shower room was small but practical Was allowed to leave my luggage as was early even for a couple of hrs after checked out

Wish had earplugs can hear everything, traffic as well has the room above want ideal late at night The breakfast continental wasn't great scrambled egg and bean cold hash browns solid and hot dog sausage instead of proper , for the 2nd morning we found a nice cafe up the road

The team of the Piccolino Hyde Park Hotel was exceptional friendly and kind.They we’re always there for questions or tiny demands.We could choose a room and they helped us out with other things around our trip.I was there with my daughter and we felt comfortable and the rooms were not huge but very nicely decorated and it felt like home for the time of our stay.We will for sure come back.

Great location, wonderful old building but that comes with its trials & tribulations ie plumbing, ability to keep spotless etc. Staff very friendly.

Cleanliness wasn't really up to scratch - there were cracked tiles in the en suite and mold was appearing - quite badly in some spots. No AC but that was understandable given the age of the building. Dining room wasn't big enough. A couple of times we couldn't get a table, so had to wait.

The staff is very helpful, the room should have at least a bottled water for the guests to have, the toilet extractor should be on before the guests arrive. the area is nice when you get around it, you will find a lot of things to do.

The bedding of the bed, it should be a lighter colour and plain to brighten the room, check all the lamps if the lights are working. Small details means a lot.

The staff were helpful and friendly - the receptionist said that our room was at the very top of the hotel (94 steps, I think it was!), but he offered to carry our luggage up for us, as there were no lifts - nice touch! The bed was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good.

The shower turned from cold to hot and back again too much, which was irritating first thing in the morning. There was no plug in the basin, which made hand shaving and washing rather tedious. As with so many budget hotels, the shower issue had been mentioned in previous reviews I saw, but they somehow aren't always bothered with fixing these kind of problems, probably depending on high turnover of guests? The room was rather small for the price we paid...
