1 block away from the Gloucester Metro tube. 2 blocks away from 2 museums. you can walk to the Kensington Gardens and the Royal Albert Hall. 1 train ride - Piccadilly- from airport to Gloucester station. quiet and safe surrounding area big room high ceiling bathroom is modern and clean dining room staff are superb

our breakfast was supposedly “included”, well…. it was just the continental breakfast and brewed coffee BUT there is a premium to pay for eggs and bacon and “special coffee” (latte, caps), the fruit section is minimal and sad . (the breakfast staff are all wonderful - it’s the actual breakfast that is just so and so)!

a suite would have been nice with 2 adjoined rooms but that didn’t seem to be an option

Excellent location and highly professional and attentive staff. Lovely check-in people. Superb breakfast room with glorious high ceiling and large windows letting in plenty of daylight. Very spacious room and comfy bed with good thread count linens.

Pillows were not as soft as I’d like and a little money needs to be spent touching up the paintwork on the pillars outside the front door of the hotel. Also material on the blind in the bedroom was a little frayed with detracts very slightly from the otherwise overall charm of the place. Just basic wear and tear which I’m sure they’ll get to now that covid is in the past and revenues back up.

I really enjoyed my stay and have always felt the staff are very friendly and go the extra mile. Having done a bit of hospitality myself in the past, as a student, I know that it's not always straightforward. I'll be definitely be back at some point in the future. I have selected the top rating for every question as I've always felt the level of service at the hotel is exceptional. It's now my hotel of choice whenever I'm in London for work or leisure.

The staff at the Strathmore is really kind and helpful. The location is perfect to get around London. Easy access to different tube stations and many places can be reached by foot - if you are used to walking at a fast pace. Also, I requested an additional duvet, as I get cold all the time, and that was not a problem and my wish was granted.

I was a bit disappointed that the drinking glasses in the room were not changed on a daily basis. In fact, during my entire stay they were not exchanged for clean ones at all! Even though I left a note - then the glasses were wiped a bit more , but still the same - I could see the residue of my lipstick. I mean, how often do people eat and drink from the same dishes ?? - That is unhygienic and unsafe. Very disappointing.

This is a great hotel, a favourite of ours when staying in London. The location is brilliant, just round the corner from the underground station and Pauls patisserie which is great for a lovely croissant and coffee for breakfast. The hotel is a lovely old building, rooms are spacious and beds comfortable. The bathroom is a bit tired and could do with replacing but the shower was great. Everything really clean and the staff are all lovely.

The only thing that could do with changing is the ashtray next to the front steps. Don't really know who this is for but when someone stands there smoking the whole hallway gets filled with the smell of cigarette smoke - horrible.

The location. The hotel is very close to Gloucester Station, which is a convenient station to visit central London and also is not so far from Heathrow Airport by Piccadilly line. Also the style of this hotel (both interior and how it looks from outside) is great if you are particularly looking for something very English.

Please consider to install air conditioners, particularly for rooms located in higher floors. Our room was in the fourth floor and at night it was warm and not so easy to sleep.

Very helpful, friendly staff. Good location for the museums and the Royal Albert Hall. Our room was very quiet and clean. The shower was excellent. Although there was no air con, they had provided a fan which was in when we arrived. The restaurant was good value for money for dinner and the breakfast was plentiful. We were able to leave our bags with reception on both days, before and after booking in and out.

The twin room was quite small and the bed too hard for my liking. The hinge on the kettle cabinet was insecure.

The Strathmore is beautiful, historic, and comfortable. It made my dreams come true to stay in a place that made feel like I’d gone back in time to a Georgette Heyer novel. The staff were extremely attentive. The location is excellent. I walked to Hyde Park, to the Natural History Museum, and just around the area. It was safe and clean. There are restaurants and pubs just around the corner. A tube station is there too, and we caught a hop-on- hop-off bus there as well.

A hotel with a lot of history, great location for the natural history museum which we went too.close to the restaurant we were booked into that evening walking distance from hyde park knightsbridge etc so good location all together.

You can imagine that the house would have been very glamorous when the late queens grandfather owned it..unfortunately as a hotel its lost a bit of glamorous charm and was quite tired looking...the bar area was very limited no gym and our bedroom was quite cold we had to fiddle around with the radiator to warm the room up
