When we arrived, we were given a room with a non-working air-con. It was 32C outside, At first, the staff tried to fix the problem, but the facility team was not around and can't fix the aircon. Staff rejected to move us to the other room, saying that there are no other rooms available. Once I showed that avaiblity at Booking.com, they finally moved us to the other room with working aircon and let us stay there till the end of our stay. This was pleasing but it took some efforts to make them fix the issue. It should be easier if you pay 300+ GBP per night.

The room was big enough for us with my two children. The design was elegant and the toiletries from Rituals was amazing. It’s walking distance to Kensington and Hyde park. Too many restaurants and cafes nearby. Also near to underground station in Gloucester as well as bus stop. We went everywhere by bus which is more faster than taxi and cheaper too. They have a nice restaurant also for breakfast or for a quick bite or have a cup of tea or coffee that serves vegan dishes also. I’d like to point out that all the staff were amazing from the reception to the restaurant and to the housekeeping, they were all very accommodating and make our stay wonderful! I’d love to come and stay here again. Also the place is not crowded. The ambience was great 😊

The room is not soundproof. We can hear some guests talking loudly at night in the corridor but that was for one night only. The floor was a bit light and the carpet was ordinary that we can hear the sound from up. Everything else is great. It’s a quiet and cozy hotel.

Where do I even begin? Beautiful and comfortable room. Exceptional room and bathroom amenities. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast spread. Perfect location - tube station is just a 1-minute walk away, lovely cafes and restaurants nearby, walking distance to the Natural History Museum, V&A Museum, Imperial College London and the Royal Albert Hall (would recommend for those coming for their graduation). Will definitely come back again.

Price was quite steep but this was probably due to the coronation weekend. Lift was quite slow. Experienced faulty room keycards on the 2nd day of our stay but this was rectified immediately by the staff.

The extra touches. The male member of staff (I didn’t catch his name) went out of his way to make sure that we had a special stay. I was there as part of an 80th birthday treat for my dad whilst we attended the Royal Geographical Society celebrating the 70th anniversary of the first summit of Everest. He left a small cake and candle for my dad, which was a nice touch

Check out took time with no conversation or interaction, so I was confused as to why it was taking so long. In the end I had to ask if we could leave as we had a train to catch. I had pre-paid, so it would have been useful if there had been a speedy check out option.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Unfortunately the air conditioning unit in the room was faulty, and on probably the warmest day of the year so far, with large west-facing window, the room became overly hot. When mentioned to the staff they were quick to investigate, and fond the a/c to indeed be broken, but maintenance was not possible during our stay. A fan was provided which was of some use, but it would have been better to have been offered a different room. The bathroom was perhaps slightly tired, but clean. The young staff were very good, but the hardware let them down. Unfortunately it's a very competitive market....

great location in terms of proximity to central London, clean and well kept, friendly staff, good local food options, easy part of London to get to and leave from for Heathrow, nice neighborhood overall

minor things in grand scheme of things - outside window facing roadway was open and we couldn’t figure out how to close it so we got a bit of the noise from traffic at night; housekeeping didn’t always clean everything or replace certain things like hand towels; sink in main bathroom backs up

It was definitely the best London hotel experience ever! Everything was just perfect!! The staff is AMAZING! From the moment we arrived we felt nothing but home and we were able to relax to the fullest after a busy day out in town! Everyone was looking after us and our needs. The attention to details and personal approach was outstanding! The rooms and facilities were all super clean, the interior style very modern and bright! This hotel is definitely our place to stay while in London! We will come back soon!

location right across from Gloucester Road tube station so easy trip in from Heathrow and later access to getting around London. Loved the brand new feel in a beautifully refurbished property. Staff was so professional snd welcoming. Common spaces are lovely and breakfast outstanding. Our room was teeny tiny (as was bathroom) but the cleanliness, freshness of everything and total quiet of our room compensated for size, plus we really did not need more space during our 3-day stay. Will definitely seek out other Melia properties worldwide after this great stay.

Spotlessly clean throughout, we were welcomed by the very friendly staff. The room was larger then we expected and extremely well furnished with coffee machine and complimentary chocolates. Perfect location for our visits to the local museums with our Grandson and walks to Regents Park.

Our only criticism was "breakfast" which we did not book in advance but did so at check-in. Not great value for money based on the cost of breakfast and the service was less than adequate in terms of us not being informed as to which aspects were self-service and which we table-service, e.g., we had to approach someone to ask for coffee.

The hotel is perfectly located. The service is generally good and for a 4 star hotel, it is one of the best in London. There are always booking.com genius offers, the rooms are spacious and well decorated and breakfast is good.

The toilets could do with an upgrade and some of the night staff could be more professional and welcoming.
