The room was incredible and the staff was extremely friendly—in our 2 1/2 days there, we never encountered someone who did not have a smile on their face! The food was excellent, The Rooftop is a must for dinner. The location—at Trafalgar Square—was ideal. The only negative was something completely out of the hotel’s control—the main road leading to the street the hotel is on was partially closed due to repairs being made by the city, but even that challenge was met by the friendly and helpful staff. I cannot say enough good things about The Trafalgar at St. James and should I travel to London again, this will be the first place I look to book a room. Definitely not the least expensive place to stay, but, as with most things in life, you get what you pay for.

Being from Texas, we’re used to powerful air conditioning, but like every other place I have stayed, eaten, or shopped in Europe, the AC was not Texas strong. Fortunately, it didn’t have to be and it was as good as could be expected, just don’t go to Europe expecting to find the level of air conditioning those of us who live in the warmer parts of the U.S. are accustomed to.

Best location. minutes walk to the nearest tube station. very good staff services and attendance. immediate response to our requests, as per our disappointment from the room they gave us in the first place. So they upgraded us to a much larger room with larger windows to Trafalgar Square, with a very comfortable large bed. All is very clean and neat.

no heating in the bathroom. heating system in the room rather old and there’s lack of fresh air. breakfast is ok but not a variety of fresh seasonal fruit like berries, strawberries etc’, and no bread selection. the service in the restaurant is rather slow. no proper heating in the restaurant and hotel lobby.

Extremely nice hotel in a central location. The rooms are not cheap but the standard to which they are fit out is high. The staff are helpful and happy to help arrange what they can. The rooms are large with a good overview of Trafalgar Square.

We had a reservation in the sky lounge bar on the Saturday evening. The staff who manage when you can go up in the lift were rude and unhelpful and made us stay and wait downstairs beyond our reservation time, and even let none hotel guests attend without reservation prior to us. We also didn’t get an outside table in the sky lounge with a view of the London eye and river which was disappointing. The hotel should consider giving priority to guests of the hotel whom have also made a reservation.

The room was really nice, and although isn't actually as spacious as the pictures make out, it is plenty big enough for a couple of nights away as a couple. It's really close to everything if you want to do the tourist thing, yet a short tube or taxi trip to anywhere else you want to be. Staff were really pleasant and have been just as helpful after my trip as during.

The room service prices are astronomical - but you expect that. The room we stayed in didn't have a view but we were hardly in the room so did not matter in the slightest to us.

The location was perfect for our stay. Lots of historical interest, theatres, restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The room was spotless and well stocked with everything, including robes and slippers. If you did need something else it was provided promptly and cheerfully by the superb staff. Breakfast was a well stocked hot and cold buffet but quite expensive at £25 per head. Having said that, again the staff were very attentive and pleasant and nothing was too much trouble.

I can't think of anything I didn't like.

perfect locations, great rooftop bar and restaurant

our room has a bad odour the entire five days. when we told staff they tried to offer us a lower grade room or free breakfast and put up with it. we ended up getting two drinks vouchers at the rooftop bar and had to put up with it. also very noisy from the construction works going on around the building. should’ve reduced the nightly rates as a result but obviously didn’t.

Awesome location right off Trafalgar Square, but on a little side street so it doesn't feel too hectic right outside the hotel front doors. The room service was outstanding-- more than expected with daily turndown service in addition to morning cleaning, and quick delivery of food and other items. Loved the modern decor and large windows with lots of light in the rooms. Very comfortable bed as well.

The room service and rooftop restaurant food was definitely not in line with the cost. The rooftop restaurant food was pretty awful.

great location and the staff were very helpful to any request. rooms were neat and tidy and always well stocked of high quality toiletries

the lifts took an age to arrive, then one of the two broke down, so we took the stairs for some exercise the toilet sink taps were awkward to use

Great location. Decent sized room with a very good bathroom that had an excellent walk in shower. The quality of the bed and linen were excellent. A very good breakfast was included in our rate. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional. We also enjoyed a drink in the rooftop bar and an evening meal in the restaurant, which were both very good. We enjoyed the food but a more comprehensive dinner menu would be an improvement. We would stay here again.

For us the only thing of note to mention, and it is a common thing in many hotels, is the inadequate lighting in the bedroom.
