The location was good as we needed to be close by. The room change was in the new extension and was very good. The original room was in the old part of the hotel and was in serious need of renovation. Fortunately the room change was dealt with by the reception in an efficient and smooth manner with the second room as if in a completely different hotel. Efficient and pleasant staff.

The old part of the hotel in the original building is in need of complete refurbishment with removal of the ceiling tiles, which may or may not be a fire safety issue. Small TVs with a handset which was grubby and did not work and the external ground outside the french doors that had not been maintained for some time unlike the grounds as you approach from the road which were very presentable and clearly tended.

For the first two days everything went well and the food was very good and well presented.

at breakfast on day three some of the food ran out and not replaced quickly enough. On the last evening the food situation was not at all acceptable. When asked what the soup was, I was told one thing then told there was no soup. Two of the four main courses were "off". When asked what drink I would like, I asked for what I had the previous night ( a glass of Merlot ) only to be told that there was no Merlot! My wife and I walked out in disgust and went a few hundred yard down the road to a very obliging Pub which served a wide range of meals.

A room only booking as I ate elsewhere. Originally started off with a ground floor patio room No. 110 at the rear of the hotel for ease of transfer of much photographic equipment/rucksacks and hand luggage during my two night stay. However, there were issues with the room. Poor mattress on bed and no internet. The following morning, receptionist Erin then kindly agreed to arrange an upgraded room change to nearby rear room No. 121 for my second night - more luxurious and in keeping with what I'm normally accustomed to for the price. Sadly still in the hotel's internet shadow which they were currently working on to resolve. Luckily, on both days, I could still access the internet in their bar/lounge area.

Lack of internet in both rooms. Poor/damaged mattress in room 110.

Large bed with well appointed bathroom. We were attending a party on the Sunday and we were kindly allowed to have our room before the normal time so we could change

Sunday was a very warm day and our room had French Windows which opened onto the garden and carpark.Great we thought lets let some fresh air in and I may cool us down. But the window/door would only open approx 6inches due to the safety chain which we were unable to remove. It looked like the bracket had been modified to that the door could not be fully opened. I think that this door was the only means of ventilation for the room and we were not keen of having the door to the garden open over night whilst it may have helped us stay cool but would be an ideal way for small creatures to enter the hotel. Would not be a great problem to have one of the doors modified to include an opening light so as to provide some ventilation and yet retain security.

Fantastic family room that our two girls went in .. one 21 and the other 14 so one room but two bedrooms so fantastic.. me and the Husband went in the, was booked as a double but was two twin beds garden type room. And again really nice and we slept great in the twin beds so didn't mind... Our girls wouldn't give up the suit once they'd got there first! Lol 😂.... Had food in the bar area and that was Okay and well priced, staff really helpful. The garden areas are stunning, We would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again if we find ourselves in the area again.

We chose this hotel for our son's graduation from Loughborough University. We are expats living in Dubai and stayed here 2 nights. The staff, especially Sheralyn at Reception, prior to our arrival and during our stay, went above and beyond to accommodate our various needs. For example, we needed to have the graduation gown delivered to the hotel prior to our arrival and I rang them to make sure it could be sent there and they were happy to receive it. We arrived late around 11pm and the minute we arrived, they provided us with the parcel. They also added an extra bed to our room, an hour and half before our arrival, as our son's accommodation plan fell through last minute. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful trees and parking is super easy and free.

- We stayed on the very hottest day of the year in the UK. It was 44 degrees Celsius and was officially hotter than Dubai. The room had no AC, so we bought 2 fans. - There was no small fridge in the room, to keep cold water, otherwise, the room size was big for the UK. - Breakfast was a buffet. It was repetitive (identical options on both days). The hot food was not warm enough and lacking in food (though we went early on both days).

The receptionist at the check in desk was very friendly and helpful. The facilities were great, the location was lovely and the room was very spacious!

The only thing to bear in mind is that this is a wedding venue, so there was a wedding going on every night we were there and obviously there was a lot of noise from the disco. It didn't bother us as our room was situated a fair away, but it's something to bear in mind. Breakfast wasn't very good and it was expensive.

The hotel and staff were lovely and the hotel was spotless really enjoyed our stay,

The breakfast was a waste of time and a rip off at £12, no toast and as I don't eat meat or eggs I ended up with some potatoes and beans which aren't worth £12,the wifes full English was better, I realise because of the number of guests the usual buffet wasn't used but I do feel I was taken for a ride but wouldn't put me off going back

Large comfortable bed, well appointed bathroom, plenty of car parking. Good choice of hot food at breakfast apart from absence of scrambled eggs (which are a special order). Friendly staff. The hotel has been smartened up since my last visit although it rather lacks atmosphere.

The choice of items for a continental breakfast was rather limited. There was an acute shortage of tables for two and an excess of tables for 8 or 10, despite most guests being in couples, which made finding a seat rather a challenge.

Nice rural setting to walk dog. Breakfast better than average. Evening meal was really nice. Room had french doors which meant I didn't have to walk the dog through the hotel all the time.

Although the evening meal was very nice. I thought it was quite expensive. Also £15 extra for a Jack Russell Terrier. We've stayed in other hotels around Loughborough as our boy goes to the college. The maximum I've ever been charged is £10.
