Really comfy beds, good food, great shower, very quiet. Parking is behind the Inn on a public car park, but very close and convenient. The staff were really helpful, especially the lady on breakfast service. We were just breaking a long journey, so only had 1 night. I'd stay again if we could address the accessibility problems by having a ground floor room.

Not the fault of The Greyhound, but the room was really inaccessible. I had not anticipated this, so it was a bit awkward for me as someone with mobility problems. They have 1 accessible double room, but no accessible family rooms, so it's really important to check, if you have mobility issues, that you will manage the facilities ok. Eg. The shower in our room was in the bath and there was no handrail, nothing to help you get in and out safely and a tiled floor which can make things a bit risky for slipping. The other thing to note in this vein is that it's an old building with many narrow corridors and uneven floors, just something to be aware of on booking as somewhere closer to reception and downstairs would have suited us a lot better.

I enjoyed my stay here very much. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The location in the small town was very convenient and it was pleasant to walk around town. The courtyard at the hotel was delightful, well kept and clean. It was nice that there were dogs at the hotel and it kept the place very relaxed. The food was to die for - full English breakfasts were delicious and the dinners were worthy of a 5* chef.

I am a woman in my 80's and I arrived at the hotel after a 14 hour journey and totally exhausted. For some strange reason I was given room 1 which was at the top of several flights of stairs with the last flight being almost inaccessible, dragging a bag behind me and into the attic room. I thought I was going to die by the time I reached the room and I then proceeded to bump my head several times on the sloping ceilings. Fortunately, the lovely girl behind the bar immediately got my room changed for me. Please, Greyhound, look at visitors checking in and evaluate whether you should almost kill them by putting them in room 1. Such a pity - one small mistake almost spoiled the whole experience.

We were staying for a family wedding close by. Really friendly welcome on arrival and a lovely outside area with some pretty plants and shrubs. Parking was easy and a very small fee. Breakfast was hot and fresh and a great choice. We had the four poster room and the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious too. There are a few stairs to the higher floors so just near that in mind if you have difficulty with stairs but it didn’t affect us at all. WiFi was very quick.

What a beautifully presented Hotel, the outside and inside space are really cosy and welcoming. An excellent selection of beers and cider made everyone happy and the bar man did a superb job keeping us all well watered. The restaurant and waiting staff did an excellent job catering for a table of 25 and we can't thank them enough for making our gathering such a beautiful and memorable evening. We will definitely be booking again in the future. Thank you ! In the room I personally would have preferred feather pillows, the bed was sooo comfortable that really was the only thing that let my room down. The full English breakfast was okay, could have been bigger but then we are a bunch of Hedgelayer's so breakfast is our most important meal of the day!

There was nothing I didn't like! You all did a great Job :)

I travelled down from Newcastle to Leicester by train to attend a funeral. The church was 200yds from the hotel and the wake a further 200yds away, making the hotel an ideal location. Fortunately I was picked up from the station and taken to the hotel which took 45 mins due to heavy traffic. For my return journey, I had planned to take a taxi back to the station the following morning and was somewhat concerned about the commuter traffic so I asked the reception to book me a reliable taxi. The staff were brilliant and trawled the list of taxis and finally were able to book one for me. The next day when I went down for breakfast I asked them to bring it forward by 15 mins if possible. The taxi arrived early and it proved to be a good decision as it took 50 mins mainly because the taxi was allowed to travel in the bus lanes, if not I would have missed my train. Leicester has a major traffic problem. I am most grateful to the reception staff for all their endeavours to get me to the station on time. It was a short stay but I enjoyed the hotel and the excellent breakfast. Thank you.

Nothing.

Gorgeous old coaching inn with ancient passages and exposed beams in higgeldy piggeldy charming interior. Twin room was comfortable and clean. Decent shower. Good town centre location. Tasty breakfast.

It took 40 mins between being seated for breakfast and the hot food being served. Appreciate it was a busy time (0900) but that really is too long to wait. The cold buffet option was excellent though and the hot food when it came (salmon and scrambled eggs) was excellent too. And the waitress was apologetic.

The location is right in the center of town, which is very convenient. The courtyard is beautiful to walk into, and the room was cozy and inviting. The staff were friendly, and it was perfect for us and our kids. We enjoyed the many breakfast options, and love how the dining room has windows into the courtyard. We stayed in hotels, B&Bs, and an Airbnb on our road trip around the UK, and our 7 and 9 year old kids remember this one as the "luxury" hotel. Even if it's technically not, it had everything we needed!

The grout in the bottom edge of the bathtub could use replacing, otherwise fine.

Olde worldy coaching inn. Generous sized room and bathroom, all bar and restaurant facilities and good standard fayre. Same price as a nearby Premier Inn but with much greater character, it's not all chrome and nondescript prints. Enjoyed the food and beer and was nice to chat to some of the other residents in the bar. Situated on the High Street so all other local amenities within a couple of minutes walk All in all a comfortable three night stay

Parking (Free between 18.00 & 07.00) is on a municipal car park attached to the hotel

We were travelling over from Australia and the Greyhound was such a perfect place to stay to show our girls some of the history. Our Family room was fantastic, super large comfortable beds and in 2 adjoining rooms so our teenage daughters had their own space. Excellent facilities in our family suite. Fabulous breakfast each morning including cooking a vegan breakfast nothing was a bother it was great. Friendly staff who all.made us feel welcome. Great value for money. We would highly recommend The Greyhound.

Loved everything! It was exactly what I was looking for in a traditional British Inn. Overall a most charming place. The room was comfy & clean. The pub downstairs was perfect for a nightcap. Every staff member was welcoming. The breakfast in the dining area was perfect before heading out for the day. The location on the main road was ideal while also being perfectly quiet as I expected a village to be in the evenings & overnight. The parking which was included was excellently located & safe behind the Inn. The courtyard garden was stunning.
