The way we were treated on reception a stay that we booked was £150 and we have been charged another 150 when we got there so for 3 days it cost me £300

I arrived in a heatwave: 30° plus. The air-conditioning was sensationally good throughout my stay, in my room and the public areas. I liked the ensuite shower room very much. The staff were all super. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The hotel is generally an impressive building in an alas still very run down area (thankfully with clear signs of reconstruction in progress nearby). Although the coffee was dispensed from a machine, I found it very much to my taste. Breakfast was good, but not exceptional. As a diabetic, I'd have liked to be able to request boiled or poached eggs rather than the "reconstituted" scrambled egg on offer. I was told (charmingly and disarmingly) that I could not do this.
I wish my window had been cleaner, much cleaner! As the windows don't open, there is nothing one can do for oneself about this. I find the need to pay a deposit decidedly "down market" in an otherwise impressively high class establishment. As a returning customer, I knew what I was in for and I shall certainly be back. I travel throughout Europe. I'm pushing 80. I have never experienced this anywhere else. It really isn't the image the hotel wants and easily presents in other aspects...

Beautiful and clean hotel, staff were all lovely and helpful.breakfast was top notch really set us up for the day lots of options and included with your stay which is amazing. Dinner was lovely also but limited choices which is understandable as there is a lot of food places in the area.Rooms were immaculate and comfortable. Will definitely be staying again.
It left very little to dislike in my opinion. The duck feather pillows weren't my favorite but that's down to me having allergies and loving a firmer pillow but nothing a anti histamine and my own pillow case couldn't fix 👍.

10 minute walk from the rail station and 5 minute walk to the gig location I was there for. The room was fantastic. Clean, spacious, comfy bed, large walk-in shower and very good value. That said, when I first booked the room it was £96 but on checking the hotel at the start of the week it had gone down to £75. So I cancelled and rebooked. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast selection and the fresh waffle maker was so good!
The only thing I didn't like was the bacon at breakfast. It was very rubbery and didn't appear to have been grilled but broiled. I always go back for seconds of bacon but not this time. Other than that the hotel was perfect.

Place was easy to find, good sized car park with barrier control, friendly staff that seemed interested in you as an individual. Room was very clean, superb beds, very good bathroom facilities and nowhere seemed in the slightest dark. We returned after midnight and were still in the bar as the sun was rising and at no point were we made to feel unwelcome.
Only thing we would say ‘let you down’ was some of the breakfast items weren’t very warm (hash browns actually cold) but once this was bought to the attention of the staff it was rectified. Other than this we were very happy

The breakfast was simple, but there was plenty of choice (Cooked "English", waffles, cold meats, cereals, toast etc.). No limits on what you can have. Good coffee machines. The gym / fitness centre was well equipped (Two running machine,s a pelaton bike, concept2 rowing machine, ecliptical trainer, weights and more). The hotel is BRAND new. You can still smell the new carpets. The rooms are simple, but the beds are huge. They have massive TVs too. There's a safe and a fridge as well as tea and coffee kit.
The toilets are set rather high. I was dangling my feet so it wasn't 100% comfortable. The bar prices were a bit high, but then this is a hotel, so only to be expected really. No wardrobes in the rooms. you get coat hangers, but only a stylish bent pipe to hang them on.

Rooms are very nice. large comfy bed with quality pillows and a lovely seating area. Great shower and a fridge in the room. Parking right outside but as of yesterday it's a hefty 10 pound per night. Been free up until now. I am sure this hotel will get better as the staff get more experienced.
Evening meals very little choice . Hard to believe for a hotel of this quality. I would eat out if I was you. But it's pretty cheap. Fantastic lobby but not keen on the fact that it's the restaurant and the bar all in one. Brilliant that breakfast is served at 6 but not the best quality. if you are not there at 6 it won't be hot. Warm at best. But it's included and there is plenty of it. its clear the staff are still learning as it took an age to get served food and drink because the bar and food orders are taken by the receptionist so had to wait until about 6 people had checked in to get attention. The lady didn't really know how to work the till. Of course this will improve.

Liked it all the hotel fantastic, staff wonderful, helpful pleasant, room well worth the cost to stay, breakfast could not fault nice and fresh tastefully.
The car park has full security cameras covering the hole car park, but abit of a walk from the back of the hotel to the only entrance, to much if you have walking problems or disabled or bad weather specially. Could do with drop off/pick up bays at the front entrance, Double yellow lines at front only entrance, as we were loading our car with luggage parking warden was going to give us a ticket. Luckily we had just finished. NEEDS CAR TO HOTEL ENTRANCE SORTING, SO ITS BETTER.

September 2024
The first morning's breakfast was a wee bit difficult due to the large water leak, which was sorted out by the second morning. The choice of food was fine, thank you.
The first room that I was allocated was very good, very well laid out with plenty of seating. Due to a water leak on my first night, I had to move to another room, which was not as good as the first. I found it quite cramped with nowhere to sit. Had the water leak not happened, I would not have had to move rooms, and it would have been fine. I would have thought that if I was forced to move rooms, then the second room should have been at least on par with the first one, not inferior. Not very happy about this. I was on the third floor, and as the lifts didn't always work, I had to walk up six or seven flights of stairs with my luggage. Again, that could have been a problem if I had not been able to use the stairs.

Lovely decor, fresh and clean. Easy check in and check out process. Customer service is good and staff were friendly and helpful. Walking distance to train and bus station. I didn’t have a car so can’t comment on that but there is a car park available. The only thing I would say is that the bacon was a little undercooked at breakfast but honestly, there were a lot of choices so it wasn’t a huge issue. They had gluten free bread for those who need it soya milk available to add to coffee. Thank you!
