Didn't like the fact you order food and they slap on the service charge before you even get the food, caused a bit of a heated discussion, especially after charging us a corkage charge because we opened up a special bottle of fizz for my friends 60th birthday. 3 rooms, 2 nights, spent reasonable amount of money, and could have wavered the charge, 2nd night we spent 500 quid over the pub across road, no extra charges there!!

Lovely location. Breakfast was very good quality ingredients (would have been better with butter for toast - salt/pepper) Really helpful evening receptionist. Comfy Bed & nice clean room. Good powerful shower.

Room 8, on the Ground Floor with parking spaces going right up to the window. Guests parking late do disturb you, the same with the main entrance door, you hear it every time it's closed. Sadly, room got cold quickly and then in the early morning the heating pipes made a loud frequent banging noise as it starts to warm up the radiator again. Sadly, no butter given with toast or salt/pepper. The chap who delivered it said to give them a shout if I needed anything but there's nothing in the room telling you how to get hold of them. Also requested decaf tea and it certainly wasn't, which again was a shame. I would definitely stay again before deciding whether this was just unfortunate set of minor issues - but I wouldn't stay in Room 8 just due to its location within the hotel.

Nicely decorated interior , great location, good food in the evening restaurant, reasonably priced.

The room was extremely basic and wasn’t as clean as I’d expect. Thick dust on skirting boards , hairs and grime in bathroom and furnishings tired. No mirror at dressing table, no phone in room and drinks/water not replenished or beds made daily. Every other couple brought their dog, so great for them, but a bit much in the restaurant when every table has dogs (some not so well behaved). We thought it was expensive for the time of year and the breakfast was £20 each and very overpriced!

Ordering Unfortunately the meal we on Saturday evening was poor ( the meals and service on our previous visit were excellent) this time however the three staff at front of house were rushed off their feet our table was booked for 7.30 the starters were delivered to our table and hour after ordering and the mains took another 45 minutes after the starters were cleared the quality of the food was not anywhere as good as our last visit, we complained to the staff and received a reasonable discount on the price of the meal. Would we stay here again - probably because of the accommodation and location but would eat elsewhere.

The breakfast, location, comfort and cleanliness of the room were excellent. Check-in was easy, and the room was nicely laid out and welcoming. Breakfasts were good, though portion sizes were a little small and the service could have done with an extra server to keep things ticking along.

I've already mentioned the breakfasts (1 tablespoon of baked beans on a full English?). But the main gripe was that I was staying with some friends and we all had adjoining rooms: and despite paying the most for my room, it wasn't the largest of the bunch. I inquired about this at the desk and was told "it's the premium room" despite it offering nothing more than one of my friend's rooms despite the sizable price gulf. To be fair to the lady on the desk, she looked into the difference and offered some advice on it. Booking direct with the hotel offers better prices, with less fluctuation. But at the end of the day, it seems all the rooms here as just as well-appointed, so book sensibly and direct with this one would be my advice.

Lovely property next to the golf course. Breakfast was good and the location was great for our short getaway trip to explore the New Forest.

Having paid for a room upgrade (albeit at a discounted price offered) due to having our dog with us, the room was still not particularly 'roomy'. I wonder just how small the 'cosy room' I originally booked is. It was also a shame that there was no refrigerator in our room, especially when we stayed when were experiencing the hottest days of the year. Breakfast was great, good menu - but the service on the morning of our departure with a 10:30 check out deadline was very poor unfortunately.

Beautiful area and the garden out the back was perfect for sunny days , a lovely lounge with tv and games was ideal for after dinner chatting with friends, the staff were all lovely and even got us discounted tickets for beaulieu motor museum , plenty of parking

The breakfast was expensive and didn't have a children's price option would have been better to have full breakfast, continental and children's options. Stayed in room 10 and was very warm couldn't keep windows open because opening onto fire escape and had noise from extractor fans outside there was a fan provided but didn't help much

The team running The Bell Inn were absolutely brilliant, all incredibly pleasant and easy going individuals knowing when to converse and when to leave you be. Likewise, the rooms are spacious and airy with lovely décor, the bedding was spot on as was the rest of the room and available amenities. Food quality night and day was great, with a lovely restaurant setting with deals on dinner throughout the week. Location is spot on, being just 5 mins from the M27 you have all the benefits of being able to flit about the area quickly with very little compromise on basal noise levels. Noise is a non issue at this property as the layout and décor seems to soak a lot of it up. Should you choose this hotel, no doubt it will pleasantly add to your experience and make it more memorable. Highly recommend.

I personally found the mattresses a little tough around the edges. Furthermore breakfast options were somewhat limited despite there appearing to be a range of items being consistently cooked that would work well together. Saying that, the breakfast items available are also of great quality.

Lovely place to stay. Luxurious and extremely well-appointed. No one could complain that this isn’t the height of hedonism. The service in the restaurant towards the end of the evening might have been a little quicker but I suspect that as usual this was due to too few staff for too many customers rather than because of the staff themselves as they were uniformly helpful and pleasant (not to mention on duty the following morning after presumably less sleep than me).

This is an exceptional hotel for dog lovers looking for the comforts and high standards a couple would look for on a weekend away! Immaculate describes the serve the food the rooms and facilities and the kindness of the staff who are clearly happy to be there. Katie made this break for us who from the second we arrived helped with bags interacted with our 🐶 pup and gave us tips on a local walk which we went on and it was wonderful. They even had a menu for our pup who dined with us breakfast lunch and dinner he loved it…can’t recommend this place enough we will definately be back and we can’t wait!!! Thank you Bell Inn xx
