All this week in August it was sunny but the day we came it rained bit it was still wonderful. Liz still opened the pool and even though it was cloudy we had a lovely time. I can only imagine what it's like if you have a sunny day. We had a lovely walk around the extraordinary gardens and got some great ideas for our own bug hotel. The rooms had everything you needed and our host couldn't be nicer if she tried. We were catching an extremely early flight the next day so thought rather than stay in a grotty airport hotel we justified the extravagance by bringing a picnic basket and a bottle of wine. We will definitely be going back. We are in a middle of doing a tour of The Pig Hotels ( we've done 3 now) and this place would fit in nicely.

We loved The Den - the setting is absolutely amazing, with a wonderful old house, walled garden, and a lovely walk up to the view at the top of the garden! The flat is amazing, so spacious, with everything you might need. They were so gracious in letting me use the pool in the mornings. The breakfasts were fab. There's a decent pub a 5-10 minute walk away, and right outside the pub is the bus into Bristol, which really doesn't take long at all. Highly recommended!

Beautiful location and stunning house with a very spacious apartment. Very clean and lovely breakfast brought to the room. Stayed for our wedding and the owner was very accommodating and helpful when needed.

Having a clock somewhere in the apartment would be useful but not a big issue.

Even before we arrived, we got a lovely message welcoming us and checking if we had any dietary restrictions. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel at home, the apartment was lovely, the bed amazing and the finishing touches make it feel special. Breakfast was delivered to your room and the quality of the ingredients really impressed. The grounds are beautiful and well worth a walk if you have the time. It's only 6 miles out of Bristol and near the park and ride which was great as we could charge the car while we spent the day in the town centre. There are a couple of really nice pubs within walking distance. Liz has made this a wonderful place to stay, and is on our must return list. Thank you

The Den is a lovely, homely space within an absolutely beautiful house. The small kitchenette came fully laden with tea, coffee and biscuits which was a nice touch and the Sky TV in the lounge was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Very comfy beds within quiet grounds ensured a good night's rest. My home-cooked breakfast was made to order, punctually brought to my room by Liz and was absolutely delicious. There is also a pleasant little pub within walking distance of the house which was a great recommendation for dinner.

Everything was perfect. This is an exceptionally beautiful house in a charming rural location with railway station (Nailsea and Backwell) in fairly easy reach.

Beautiful home, delightful hosts, couldn’t have been kinder. Use of the pool and convenient pub short walk away. Host went out of her way to help us. More than just a place to stay. A very special experience.

Stay was perfect, beautiful accomodation, spotlessly clean, got to spend 1.5 hours in their amazing outdoor pool alone which was heated and beautiful views. Son had own room. Lots of nice extra touches like handcream, nice shower gel, milk and juice and water in fridge and cereals already there as well as tea and coffee. Lovely host. Wife has just finished chemotherapy and lovely to be somewhere she could swim and so covid safe.

Location was exceptional, welcome was warm and inviting, fridge had some nicely chilled goodies, grounds were spectacular. I would recommend this to anyone looking for the perfect quiet retreat where you have space to breath and recharge

Breakfast could have little more variation but that's not a criticism, perhaps some more local produce or botanicals for herbal teas, vegan options, homemade local preserves, seed mix for muesli? Just little touches

The estate was just grand and amazing, enough space , comfort and the pool was a pleasant addition. The family was very helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended!
