Amazing hotel, I really enjoyed my stay, great value for the price and perfect for solo traveller. The room was very cosy, clean and had everything I needed. My room was on the upper floor so it as quiet. The staff was always so nice and helpful. There is a bus stop right across the street and the bus will take you to the city centre in a couple of minutes. Also, there are many cafes, pubs and restaurants nearby and the whole area was really lovely and safe. If I go to Bristol again, I will definitely book this hotel.

Although fairly small, the room we had was well furnished with fittings designed to maximize the available space. The hotel is very well located within Clifton Village meaning walks around the pedestrian areas, the Downs and the Suspension Bridge are easy. Bus connection to the City Centre is on the doorstep. The hotel and surrounding area was quiet, even on the Friday night.
We had a room on the top floor, which was stuffy even with the window open all the time. A small fan helped. To access the room, the final staircase is very narrow and quite steep - I would not recommend bringing a large suitcase.

This lovely independent boutique hotel is full of charm and history. My single room on the second floor was big enough and very comfortable, the ensuite had a great shower and the breakfast was ok. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. It’s an old property, grade II listed, and even though it’s nicely ‘modernised’, it still has features that may inconvenience some people, like no lift or air conditioning. But there are chain hotels for that. This hotel beats them every time in my book. It’s situated very close to the bus stop that takes you to temple mead’s railway station, and it’s very close to all the independent cafes and shops of Clifton that sell excellent produce.
Breakfast could be more exciting: yoghurt? hot milk for coffee? Cut up fruit? Bircher meusli? The cooked dishes were ok but routine. Still it’s a short walk to good cafes so not really a problem. The staff were really nice.

Lovely rooms that were both clean and comfortable as well as individual, in keeping with the period feel of the hotel and nice touches such as fresh fruit in the rooms and hot drink selection. The staff we interacted with, particularly the receptionists are a real asset to the hotel, friendly and helpful at all times. The location of the hotel is ideal for getting out into Clifton and the Downs, and for accessing attractions (Aerospace museum, Bristol Zoo Project, Cribs Causeway etc.) in other parts of Bristol without needing to drive through the centre. Lots of lovely eating places within a 5 minute walk. The hotel restaurant did look lovely for those looking for fine dining, but not for us on this visit as we were visiting my 1st year rugby playing Uni student and needed to fill him up.
My parents (late 70s) found their room rather cold on the first day of our stay and discovered upon asking, that the heating was not set to come on until 6.30. This is understandable from an economic perspective, particularly if most guests are business travellers and don't get back until around that time. There was a plug in heater but they couldn't get this to work as it kept blowing hot then cold air. I did suggest that they should have asked for help from the staff, who I am sure would have been happy to help, but they didn't ask.

The staff are very friendly. The hotel has a great location in Clifton Village, near to lots of nice coffee shops, restaurants and places for breakfast. The bedroom is lovely and the hotel provides the usual free tea and biscuits in the room but also a cafetiere with ground coffee, and fruit. The bed was really comfortable.
The bathroom was in big need of refurbishment. We asked for and received a quiet room, but this meant going up three flights of stairs. On a sunny day, the room was too warm. Having said this, we've stayed there before and would go back again.

The hotel is in a nice location, there is a bus stop just in front of it and it's only 20 minutes walk to the University of Bristol. My room was small but clean and cozy. The staff at the reception and in the breakfast room were friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was delicious. Overall, I think it's a great value for money.
From the downsides, the door is not well sound proofed and you can hear any noise from the corridor which woke me up multiple times during the night. This problem is very common in hotels though. The buffet part of the breakfast is not extraordinary and even though I liked the cooked breakfast I found that 16£ is a little too expensive for what it was.

The Rodney Hotel was a beautiful place. All the staff were incredibly attentive (particular praise goes to Justyna, Zenna and Henry). I was very impressed by the fire evacuation notice for those who made need assistance. The hotel does not have a lift, but the staff made sure to ask if you need help with your luggage. Lots of green initiatives too. The staff were able to provide me with a local taxi number too when I asked. The room also had fruit, ground tea, ground coffee, instant coffee, tea and milk, as well as a mini bar.
Earlier start times for breakfast on the weekend would have benefitted me.

Close to all amenities and to the theatre, which was the reason we choose the hotel. Breakfast was exceptional.
The fittings and furnishings in the room were too cramped which resulted in an accident.

The room was quiet as the hotel is set off the road slightly and I was on a high floor. My daughter was able to nap on Saturday afternoon with a wedding on downstairs so the old fashioned thick walls did their stuff! The rooms were all comfortable and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Also the staff in the restaurant. This boutique hotel has character and a helpful, no frills feel to it.
I had dinner in-house which was pricey but good. Sleeping late was not an option on the Sunday as housekeeping start on the rooms early.

Room was a single room that was good enough. Breakfast was very nice. Staff were very helpful and polite. Nice young lad helped me with my suitcase to my room.
Breakfast was very nice but would have liked a variety of fruit, like melon, strawberries etc if you were staying all week like i did. Would have liked the shower to be larger but it was ok. I would have liked a bit more on the dinner menu that would have been quick to have as a snack as i was on a course and had a lot of work to complete in the evening, so i went across to Nero so i could eat in my room while working.
