I had stayed in this property with my partner 2 years ago and was keen to visit it again. I still enjoyed it but there was a little bit of wear and tear. It would be simple stuff. Perhaps washing windows, descaling kettle, a slight lick of primer on wooden beams ... simple bits and pieces like that. I did however enjoy it very much again and hope to visit it again.

The wear and tear. Kettle could be descaled. Windows washed occasionaly etc. The staff seemed a bit overstretched and also they were very young so perhaps less likely to appreciate things like this. But although young, they were very sweet

Lovely decor of the rooms and modern bathroom. Really liked the stables door and loved the courtyard area to enjoy a drink from the bar in the evening sunshine! Perfect to for our stay with our dog which was included in the room price so was really nice to not have extra dog charges. Friendly, helpful staff and nice breakfast (except bacon/black pudding which was very dry and may have been pre-cooked) otherwise a lovely peaceful retreat.

The restaurant was quite pricey, the breakfast bacon/black pudding was dry so perhaps pre cooked and I’d go for a room other than no. 1 due to the low level volume rumbling of machinery (extractor fan or equipment in the main building) heard through the wall.

The room was very clean and the location tranquil. The pub is beautiful and serves tasty food. Weather was very cold, however the room stayed toasty and it was possible to regulate the temperature.

Room felt a bit smaller than expected.

Brilliant, helpful staff. Lovely accommodation. So helpful with our preparations for a funeral the following morning.

Pillows could have had a bit more life to them! And would have been nice to have a few more bottles in the bathroom, so extra shower gel and hand soap. The wall units were a bit impersonal. Overall fantastic though, these points are very minor. Such brilliant value compared to a Travelodge, which would have cost almost double! Many thanks, we will come again.

Good car parking outside. You have to remember it's just a pub with rooms not a hotel as such. The rooms are in a barn conversion next to the pub with the pub garden right outside your room which in summer could well be a problem

As ever the lighting in the rooms is quite woeful. Big shades completely shade the light coming out. Impossible to read in bed. Good light in bathroom is good. Cooked breakfast doesn't start till 1000 which was too late for me. You can have a continental delivered earlier but I can't have that. Wish they cooked earlier.

Great location, very comfortable bed and great amenities in the room, we’re worried the rooms were on the beer garden but was very quiet when we stayed (tues night) was ideal for staying with our dog when he needed to go out overnight.

Walls are a bit thin between rooms, could here neighbours

The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The evening meal was of a very high standard and enjoyable. We would certainly stay there again.

Booking.com had given the wrong PO Box address (3 miles away) and it took us some time to locate the hotel. This meant that we arrived frustrated. The staff said they had requested Booking.com to correct this error some time ago but so far nothing had been done. Note - The correct PO Box address is OX33 1EX and not OX33 1BF as shown by Booking.com

Convenient for Oxford, Blenheim, and other attractions, in a country location. Good bathroom, all the usual facilities such as teamaking.

Room a little basic. This is a motel style inn with suite of rooms each with own key off courtyard behind pub. Car park is across road.

This place is beautiful! The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The food is incredible! It is so worth ordering the full English breakfast. It’s the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. I was travelling with my parents and they absolutely loved the place. We will all definitely be back in the future.

The property was superb, outside of the pub in an annexe, the room was warm and peaceful. The room was comfortable with a great bathroom adjoined and a good TV to match. The Talkhouse itself was fantastic, the food was superb (eat the duck chips), the staff were friendly and accommodating, the beer superb and everything well priced. Plenty of parking in a private car park too which was useful. We will be staying again!

Nothing.
