The staff were exceptional very friendly and genuine .Facilities very good .Lovely atmosphere.Breakfast had everything you could need (you definitely won't need lunch) Bar had a lovely relaxing feel with excellent Friday a reasonable price .The pool and leisure facilities are top notch and the right temperature , my husband liked how they cater to mountain bikers and ease of access to Glentress it is also in a good location for pebbles town centre 5 to 10 minutes stroll .Family friendly hotel and as it was on the run up to Christmas lots of things for kids to do like find the elves hidden round the hotel .Would definitely come back.

Hot water took a long time to come through the tap .

The Room was very spacious with a lovely view. Good selection of breakfast foods too. The restaurants onsite had a good selection of different foods so we were able to experience different thigs during our stay. The pool & gym facilities were good. The surrounding area was perfect for a walk or bike ride. Overall we did enjoy our stay

During our stay there were 2 wedding parties which I found hindered our ability to enjoy certain areas of the hotel. Due to where the bar was situated for the weddings, I would have enjoyed being able to sit in the lounge and read but wasn't able to do this for too long.

The hotel was really nice, very spacious when walking around, the grounds were very picturesque. Our view of the hills was amazing. Great Leusure Club, and Spa facility too. Had a lovely DT Massage befire we left. Nice dining and bar areas. Loved the fact the hallways were adorned with old pics and history of the hotel. It was very interesting to see. Also the location was brilliant a literal 5-10 minutes walk into town.

Not a complaint or negative comment, and it wasn't the hotels fault. We wanted to go out on the 4 wheeled EZ Riders (a 4 wheeled off road Segway), but the route was getting work done so couldn't go. It couldn't be helped, but was just disappointing.

Used the pool every day. Did the axe throwing and walked the grounds. Enjoyed all of it. Remember to book activities day before as doing day of can be quite difficult. Breakfast was the same every day but it was also good. Usually not a fan of mushrooms but they were great. Rooms where clean, staff was friendly, really enjoyed the stay.

Ended up in a bunk bed which I was a little too tall for. I would have liked to book some of the activities day of and had trouble trying to do it on lines so we missed some opportunities.

The hotel has an impressive list of activities to suit everyone's interests, and you have the lovely town of Peebles to explore within a short walking distance. I loved seeing the history of the building in photo frames across different parts of the hotel. Staff were friendly and polite when greeting us for an evening meal and breakfast in the dining area. At breakfast time, there was an amazing selection of food.

I am very interior design-focused, and some of the areas of the hotel were a little dated and needed more of a design refresh. Some parts of the hotel could have been better lit. The lack of light in parts made it feel like the area was closed off or not part of the hotel.

We were attending a wedding at the famous Rosslyn Chapel in June 2024 and due to a mix up we had booked our original hotel for wrong dates and could not rebook due to the Taylor Swift concert demand . Fortunately we found The Peebles hotel available for the correct dates. When we arrived we were delighted with its location and view and our room looked out of the front of the hotel across the grounds towards the hills . Plenty of parking in the front of the hotel. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful getting our luggage to our room on 2nd floor. An afternoon lunch in the bar area proved very good with prompt friendly service and breakfast on both days was very superbly managed by the staff despite the large volume of people (Swifties) going through the restaurant. We slepted comfortably in the bed which is always a blessing. We noted that the hotel ran lots of activities for families , there was also a big wedding on at the hotel on the same Saturday as we went off to ours but even when we arrived back late Saturday night there was no disruption from noise. There was also spa facilities but sadly time commitments did not allow us to take advantage of them. On the day we left I found I had somehow mislaid my wedding hat and mentioned it to the receptionist who took my details. She rang me some time later to say it had been found and would arrange to get it back to me which she did so .10/10 goes to her for being so efficient in dealing with the matter. Overall this is a big hotel , but it is very well run by friendly welcoming staff and is looked after which is in my books very important. It has a lovely feel to it of its days gone by we would certainly stay there again if we are in the area .

We didn't realise that there is a lift service which is located in a seperate entrance door to the left on the main ground floor level entrance to take your luggage up to the reception area. So we ended up carrying our luggage up the grand staircase to reception. Would be handy to have known that in advance.

Love this hotel, it has many happy memories for me as I visited with my own family many times. Love how family friendly it is. Great leisure facilities, views and location.

We felt the evening menu was limited, repetitive and wouldn't want to stay for more than 2 nights for this reason. Everything was gin 1881 themed which we felt was over the top and the bar in the lounge we felt was unnecessary and took up useful relaxing/sofa space. Also the condition of the putting green was awful, almost impossible to putt. We expected better despite the recent rain. Otherwise great.

We absolutely loved the location and surrounding areas within the hotel we thought the cocktail bar and garden room were extremely nice the staff were fabulous Afternoon tea was amazing as was the food at The grill especially the cullen skink The entertainment on saturday was great

There was a wedding taking place and they seemed to take over whole area so no seats available in lounge which meant we stayed in room until they went for meal even at night they spilled into bar which created queues for other guests probably would not book in when wedding was on again Mum has mobility issues and fell trying to get in shower as it was over a bath resulting in her just washing at sink Moved chairs in room as we could not get seat in lounge and wall had a very bad spill stain I have mentioned all this at checkout

Terrific location with wonderful views of Tweedsmuir Hills from dining room and many bedrooms (including mine when no van outside window). Good sized swimming-pool with sauna and jacuzzi. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff, good service in dining room. One 'quiet' bar, one with live music (Saturday) and a lively vibe. Was there with a large family party, and lots of flexibility in arrangements for that. A great stay overall.

Some rooms distinctly less appealing than others, I hope cheaper. Occasionally difficult to get served in the bar when staff were busy elsewhere - I gave up on planned margarita. And despite earlier assurances, no croquet set - a family tradition so that was a disappointment

The staff were exceptional- friendly, efficient, smartly dressed . They went out of their way to answer any requests.

The grill room which I felt resembled a school canteen with its Formica topped tables. Also was not impressed with its menu. Preferred menu and ambience in cocktail bar. Could have done with more toiletries in en suite- also the dispensers gave out minute amts per push!! I don’t know if this was a cost cutting exercise or well used dispenser. A minor issue - it would have been nice if editors came down to outside seating to take orders for coffee, drinks etc
