The hotel is conveniently situated in the main street and is central to places to eat. The room and bed were comfortable. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I usually take my own pillow. Unfortunately, it fell out of the car and was dirty. A member of staff took the pillow cases and cleaned them for me. They were clean dry by the evening. However, the hotel pillows were so comfortable that I didn't need it! Breakfast was great, we had a later breakfast after celebrating new year...thank you!

Nothing to dislike.

Very comfortable bed in a large room, dual aspect, one window overlooked the main street but there is not very much traffic during the night. The breakfast was exceptionally good, freshly cooked in the adjoining cafe, with really lovely pastries. This was one of the best breakfasts we had in the seven hotels we stayed in during our holiday. We stayed one night on a long road trip back home from Orkney, so it met our needs very well in that context. I would say this is a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel in the traditional sense of the term, as there is no bar or lounge area and no reception after 8 p.m. (there is a duty manager on call, though, and their mobile number is in all the bedrooms). The pub across the road, The Crown, offers a discount on their (very hearty) meals for Kirkstyle residents, which was a welcome bonus.

The only issue for me personally was the cramped bathroom (room 11), especially around the loo, which was right next to the heated towel rail. This is an older building where en suites have had to be fitted into existing spaces. We only saw one room, so it may well be that other rooms have different bathroom layouts. There is no car park, but it was very easy to park right outside on the road the night we stayed.

The breakfast was excellent and Sarah could not have made us feel more welcome. Her hospitality was 5 star. Location was great to a wedding we were attending at Cornhill Castle. Literally 5 minutes drive away. In the high street was an italian deli and we purchased a salad box to take away with us for the trip home on the train.

The first room we were shown "superior double " the bed was too small so for an extra £10 we upgraded to a larger bed. We were in the block behind the restaurant which seemed a little more modern than the other side where our friends were staying. Our bathroom looked recently renovated.

The place was clean and tidy, the staff were excellent, they went above and beyond. The breakfast in a morning was prepared fresh which is great, food wasn’t hanging around keeping warm somewhere, I had porridge which was a good helping and creamy.

Communication before we arrived, we were initially bringing a little dog but let the hotel months ago this wouldn’t be happening, when we arrived in the room we’re blanket, bowl and biscuits, wonderful if we had brought a dog, it would have been nice to have had a different room as we didn’t take dog. Our room was right by outside diners toilets, which meant we had to walk through dining room to get to our room, I felt sorry for the diners.

The room was modern and spacious. It was immaculately clean. The staff were fantastic and very friendly. The breakfast was cooked to order and absolutely delishous. I also loved having a fridge in my room with the complementary coffee/tea water and cream.

No designated parking. However, I had no problem finding parking on the street the entire time we were there, so it really was not an issue for us. The stairs to get to our room are a problem for my wife as she had a bad knee, but it doesn't stop her. But if you have difficulty climbing stairs just request a room on the main floor.

Hotel was in the perfect location for a wedding we were attending at Cornhill Castle - only a 5 minute taxi journey. Staff were super friendly and even managed to get us checked in slightly early so we were checked in before heading to the wedding venue. Breakfast was amazing - so much choice so definitely something for everyone.

I do feel the hotel was slightly pricey - I believe we were originally quoted £105 for the night through booking.com, however when we arrived we were charged £125. We spent no time in the room at all as we got to the hotel around 1am and checked out by 10am sp basically just used the room to sleep.

Staff were amazing - so helpful and friendly, right down to knowing who I was when I arrived and ensuring my dietary requirements for breakfast. Room was clean, extra pillows in the wardrobe and the mini fridge was a huge bonus including stocked with cold water which was a lovely touch.

Room was a bit warm - heating had been on so took a while to cool down to sleep. No carpark which caught me off guard but easy enough to park on the street outside.

The whole experience was amazing. I’m only sorry we didn’t catch the name of the lovely lady who was clearly in charge and who served us our lunch, checked us into our room and served us breakfast the next day. She honestly could not have done enough for us. We didn’t get our hot air balloon ride which is why we booked the hotel but despite this we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt very well looked after. The food was also spot on

The rooms were excellent value for money. I was travelling for wedding with 2 daughters so accommodation great for 3 of us and very good value. Clean, good shower too. Staff very friendly.

I found my room bit cold so feel extra cover with extra pillow on top of wardrobe would have helped. Had to sleep with cardigan and socks on. Only minus to hotel otherwise very good value, very clean etc. My girls in larger room were fine. Also wonder if anyone has had any experience with spirits in the rooms as my daughters and I did. Wasnt frightened as I am a Spititualist

Lovely garden cafe area, friendly and welcoming staff who continued to be helpful throughout our stay. The location close to several places to several amenities and right on the high street. We had travelled through the night and were fortunate enough to be able to check in slightly earlier to enable us a quick sleep so this was hugely appreciated.

The temperature I found the hotel to be almost on the uncomfortable hot side, particularly in the cafe area for breakfast, our room wasn’t far from there so was equally as hot. Even with the window open was quite stuffy, this may suit some and appreciate fully it’s difficult to get a balance for all.
