Very nice atmosphere, not as noisy as often found in pubs. Excellent cooking starting with a very good breakfast buffet plus à la carte and ending with a surprising quality for dinner. Very friendly staff at all times. The rooms are cozy and well kept. All items were clean and well served. There is a large beer garden in the back, however, we had no opportunity to enjoy it. The White Hart is an excellent choice if you visit a Goodwood Event, about 15 min of driving. We'll go back for sure.

The wine list was good for a pub, however, some wines we wanted to order were not available. This may be a temporary issue.

What appeared to be a shed turned out to be quirky accommodation. Good size room with en-suite. Plenty of storage space, a light on both sides of the bed for reading, windows that opened wide. Nice towels, and toiletries. 2 chairs so neither of us had to sit on the bed. We didn't have breakfast, but the evening meal was very good. It is a quiet situation, and has a nice beer garden

Generally it was clean - spotless sheets and towels - but the chrome in the bathroom wasn't. And there was black mould on the edges of the window frames. One of the windows needed work on the catches

The White Hart is a lovely pub full of character in the small village of South Harting. I was walking the South Downs Way, South Harting is approximately ½ mile off the route. Before crossing the busy B2146 to continue the walk, take the public footpath on your left which runs parallel to the road, the pathway starts by going downhill then levels out to the South Gardens and a playground, you then walk on the B2146 below the church for approximately 150 yards before reaching the White Hart on your left, the Harting stores and post office are a little further on. Most of the rooms are located in a separate building across the courtyard to the right behind the pub. I stayed in Room 4 which was quite small but suitable for me. The bed was comfortable, tea, coffee, biscuits and water are provided and I loved the Bramley toiletries, the shower was large with good pressure. Dinner was very good and the staff were excellent. The pub also caters very well for dogs with treats such as Bark Burgers and Bark Bangers!

Paintwork was tired in a few areas, there were some scuffs on the tiles lower down in the shower and a couple of marks on the furniture which just need attention. The service for breakfast was slow, I was advised there was new chef, at the time of ordering there were only 3 people in the restaurant so it wasn’t busy!

We stayed here for one night as a base for walking/visiting local pubs etc. The hotel bar/restaurant area was great, and had a lovely big beer garden also. Decent range of beers available. My wife is coeliac/gluten free and there was a good range of options for her on the menu. Last orders for food were 9pm which was appreciated as we were late back from our walk. Despite other reviews I've seen elsewhere, our room was plenty big enough for two (it might get a bit small if you were spending a week there, but for a night or two was perfectly fine). The shower was excellent (aside from the point below) with good water pressure, and nice products on offer. Nice to have a Nespresso machine in the room, as well as the usual kettle/teabags etc. The bedroom was clean. Staff were lovely, very friendly and jovial whenever we interacted with them.

The bathroom could've done with some attention. There was a fair bit of mould in the shower (a small point, but it's fairly straightforward to get rid of this kind of thing so worth a few minutes of someone's time), and carpet in the bathroom is probably not the best idea as there were some toothpaste stains near the sink.

The staff were so friendly and helped with our every request . Parking was great , room was really lovely and had really lovely food in the restaurant! They even offered us a quick breakfast ( earlier than advertised ) as we were leaving early each day to go to an event .. we didn’t take it up but thought this was a lovely touch ! Also amazing hot chocolate … thank you !

Not enough rooms and fully booked for when we wanted to come again ! Apart from that nothing ! It really was excellent value for money !

Our room was very cosy and had bags of character with welcome features such as USB charging ports on both sides of the bed to facilitate phone charging and modern, bendable reading lights in addtion to the bedside lights . Free bottled water was also provided. The walk in shower had great flow from its fountain head, was easy to operate and had bags of hot water. Netflix was available on the TV; an unexpected bonus. The supper menu was extensive and sensibly priced and the breakfast was outstanding with a great buffet, friendly table service for hot meals and extended 7-11am availability. I had ready access to gluten free bread for both supper and breakfast toast. Parking was secure and off road at the rear, the only minor downside was that access to the spaces was a little tight. Overall very impressive, in a super village location. Great value for money . Will definitely return .

It is all too easy to see why The White Hart has the ratings that it does as is superb - my wife and I only stayed the one night, but we are most definitely coming back and will stay longer next time - the room was amazing, warm, comfortable (on a wet night in early February like a monsoon it was just what was needed) - the meal in the restaurant was exceptional, as was breakfast the next morning - and the kitchen staff are to be commended on their fayre - the staff and indeed the patrons were all very friendly and happy to chat, and it made our stay there quite special - thank you to everybody we met.

The room and the views were stunning and the bed was so comfortable. The staff were very welcoming friendly and helpful. We loved the proper small village country vibe about the place we will be going back to stay and explore the surrounding area

We like to keep the windows open for air but at about 7.30 am there was a constant whirring noise which was a little bit of an early wake up call. We assume as we were close to the pub it's the fridges or pumps being switched on and running. Not sure there is much that can be done about it other than keep windows shut

Easy to find, the staff were lovely and room albeit a tad cosy was well presented with everything you'd need. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have slept in all year.

Parking isn't well sign posted. I arrived late evening in the pouring rain and I couldn't make out the sign for parking, so parked on the street. Not the end of the world, and it turns out parking is behind the rooms. The room, was cosy with no where to work from, so I had to set up on the bed. Again not the end of the world, but something to be mindful of if traveling for work and staying more than one evening. The breakfast was sadly a letdown; I chose eggs benedict, and the eggs, although cooked perfectly, were cooked in vinegared water and not drained properly, so there was an overpowering taste of vinegar. The muffins had also only been toasted briefly, so they weren't cooked all through. All very minor things that didn't detract from a very pleasant stay.

Excellent breakfast with good alternatives to suit most tastes. Only pick was that they do not provide a knife for toast on o the table. Evening meal. Pie of the day was flavoursome and well filled. Fried fish was tasty haddock with a nice crisp batter. Room No1 was large with low beams covered in leather to prevent injuries as I am 6ft 2 in. Lovely view over the countryside.

It would be nice to have a small movement sensitive light in the bathroom at low level to come on when using the facilities at night. The shower could do with a hand held spray as well as a drench head to enable you to wash without getting your hair wet if this is not wanted.
