It is a beautiful calm atmosphere during the time I visited. It has a little farm and vineyard, a small farm shop and cafe, and is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life, perfect for the souls that want to rejuvenate themselves in peace. Guests here were respectful of each other and did not intentionally try to cause trouble as I have had personal experience of with many other hostels. The showers were separate from the room, room share with 3 or 4 other people kept the temperature of the room at the right level. Any more people and it would have been overheated. Conversations had with other people concur in similar ideas. It is a place where you have the option to switch off from technology. Smoking is outside the premises. Only one person seen drinking one can of beer on the premises within public areas only. Other niggles mentioned to the people running the place were made up in other ways and were also mentioned to me by guests but dutifully dealt with. Food is superb. And I appreciated the cafetière of coffee on the last day, a nice alternative!
One person smoking marijuana on the job it seemed but outside the premises. There is no proper laundrette facility for the guests although I was offered the use of what was available but left after two dries with wet clothes causing mildew in my luggage and clothes.

It is based on a farm with the option to wonder around for free. There is animal feed available if interested, a restaurant/café which is nice to pop into but only offers the basics within the shop for those residing here. However the restaurant does offer amazing food. Its idyllic, quiet and peaceful, a good place for a retreat or to go somewhere if you are a travelling artist or writer.
Shower issues - still being addressed and notified. Bring your own food, the options at the restaurant are only the standardised versions if you are wanting to save money. Handmade sandwiches are not offering a wide selection and does not offer alternatives for vegans or those looking for other basic meals. (as stated very basic)

Stayed here for Stonehenge! Mel was really helpful friendly and informative. The room was so spacious and warm. The farm was my favourite bit, wandering around in the morning saying hello to the animals was such a good start to the day (goats were my favourite)! Also the breakfast I had was superb: what the chef did with my eggs benedict was nothing short of wizardry ✨
Just a precaution: if you're getting the bus from Salisbury, it's a mile walk up the road with no pavements, which can be a bit sketchy at night. Of you're wanting to walk to Stonehenge, really ask around for directions, but please don't walk along the A303!! Also their site says they do evening meals but this actually finishes at 4pm! But you can order takeaway.

Breakfast was superb, great caffetiere given, quiet and calm, tucked away from the world and a place to rejuvenate oneself. The farm was really nice to be in and to see the vineyards as well. Having less access to bad foods was a positive and really helped me feel a lot better overall within personal well being.
It would be good to have a single room at this offer, but that would be applicable across the board. There was a small stair that tripped me up due to camouflaged carpets, but that is just more of an fyi. The booking website states breakfast is included but I had to pay the full standard amount.

Kitchen well equiped, more space in fridges would be nice, but don´t know how busy (booked) the place was. Didn´t seem too busy, but can´t say. Was nice to walk down the garden and see the farm. Although was surprised the farm is actually just to show off animals (to families with kids), not a working farm as I thought. They grow wine, products could be bought. Although only meant for kids to see animals, the pig race was really fun even for us, who are loooong past youth ;) A must see I would say.
Breakfast option available was actually in a farm/coffee shop, where you need to pay extra even for a cup of coffee, which would normally be part of the breakfast elsewhere. No discount either. And spiders in our room could have been swept away before we arrived, room had probably been empty some time(?).

Great Value for the price. I was happy to give my family the experience of a hostel by being able to reserve a whole room for six for just our family. The kitchen, common area & eating area were all sufficient. The back garden was pretty.
We had to leave at 9am so we didn't get to see the animals which were available beginning at 10am. There were some bugs in the room but we cleared them out easily. We forgot there were no towels available but were grateful for the paper towels in the bathroom.

We loved the farm animals, the staff working at the farm were friendly, having the cafe right next to it was great. The sunroom was really nice and comfortable, as was the lounge room.
There aren’t any lockers for valuables, or even a lockable luggage storage room. The water pressure in the showers sometimes wasn’t enough to shower, or the hot water would run out. The front desk staff were a little bit sour with us. The location is tricky to get to if you don’t have a car.

Stayed the night before running the Salisbury Plans Marathon. Ideal location for this as only a short drive to the event. Able to park at the hostel and the stay was very straight forward. Kitchen well equipped and I like there were a few kettles etc if in there at the same time as others. Beds were comfy and a quiet night.
Missed call from hostel on the day and couldn’t get back through so wasn’t sure why I had been called. Didn’t matter to much though.

The hostel is a small part of the rare breeds farm which is a sight to behold! You can spend your day with ponies, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, mountain goats, ducks and jersey cows while you treat yourself to their farm made cheese and sip on the wine from the bluestone vineyards. There is a pig racing track to entertain us, but I suppose it's not as dehumanising as it sounds because the pigs are christened with human names. The arrangement looked sustainable to me and if you wish to get a taste of Amesbury, there is no better place to book for your stay. However, you should rent your own car because the stonehenge hostel is quite a distance away from Stonehenge. Another alternative route would be to hitchhike till woodhenge and then trek to stonehenge from the route that runs from woodhenge. I certainly enjoyed the trek with the two friends I made at Stonehenge hostel!
The fridge could be cleaned more often, there are a lot of expired items piling up in it.

The location was good and has a huge parking. Late check in till 21:00 possible. Very good communication by phone The breakfast was good. The staff was friendly . All was clean and cosy. Rooms and shared bathrooms very clean The best youth hostel we’ve ever been 👍
The breakfast is served a bit late. but just late It starts by 08:30. The showers don’t have much water due to low pressure coming from the well… it’s ok, just takes longer and a bit of patience ☺️
