Does what it says on the tin! Photos exactly same as my single room: not flashy or modern, but perfectly adequate comfortable & clean. Nice comfy bed: spotless linen, lovely hot water in sink & shower. Nice white bath & hand towel & bath mat. Decent size mug for the tea & plenty of milk (some places only give you max 2 capsules. Couldn’t fault it.

Could do with a black out blind, as the eyelet curtain doesn’t really do the job and there are lights in the yard. Would be nice to have the telly on a wall bracket on the back wall, rather than the little table at the foot of the bed. A soap dispenser in the shower would be handy, or a mini bar of soap.

Second stay, love this place for the location, atmosphere, staff and that it's dog friendly. There's always a smiling face to say hello. Breakfast is the best and they are so accommodating. Room was clean and comfy and we knew it well as stayed in it before. We would have stayed longer but no availability!

I was disappointed there was no breakfast because the chef was off sick but the cost was deducted. In the evening I had a superb vegetarian Croque Monsieur there. (It must have been a different chef in the evening to the one for the morning since breakfast wasn’t on.) The bar carpet could do with changing but of course that’s expensive and the price for me was reasonable. I liked seeing the suit of armour there and hearing the tale that goes with it! There wasn’t a nice smell upstairs on arrival but it went when I opened my bedroom window. I liked the view of the church just outside, which is used as an Arts Centre. I could have gone to a classical concert that evening but I went to a live gig in The New Inn instead. It’s easy to walk from The King’s Arms to the rest of the town.

Lovely charming old hotel in a great location by the River, next door to St Mary's church. Delicious breakfast, (we heard other guests saying they'd never had such a tasty breakfast before) and wonderful ladies working there, looking after everyone! Dog friendly and made to feel very welcome, very nice relaxed happy atmosphere. Parking on site, which in Sandwich is a real bonus and rare. Good size room at a good price. Piping hot water always available. Its a busy public house with a busy restaurant, so we did hear noise (hum of people talking) in the evening from customers but it's to be expected and was never a problem. Would definitely stay again!

Only niggle was the bathroom, really minor issues, the toilet seat kept sliding around, so may have come loose or not attached properly?! The sink is small so nowhere to put anything. Toothbrush, toiletries etc. Would be great with a little shelf or wall hanging cup holders. But that's it! As I said, minor issues!

It was quirky but adequate for the cost with central location and excellent parking. It had recently changed hands apparently but the staff were extremely welcoming and the evening meal food we ate in the restaurant area was excellent and a good price...

Nothing except that Booking .com had been advised no breakfast was available by the Owners but you still advertised it anyway...that was a bad error on your part and embarrassing for the Staff on our arrival...

Having driven from Manchester the previous day we had a midday Eurotunnel booking so wanted a location to stay that was close enough without having to pay Ashford surrounds prices. Not only did we get a great value price including a really good breakfast we were surprised to find what a beautiful small town Sandwich is. Room was ideal, hot water ,shower etc perfect and overall exceeded our expectations for the money we paid. Safe onsite parking included in our price as well. Dinner in restaurant was also very good and not pricey. Adnams Ghost Ship on draught went down very well after our long drive down.

There is no real bar area as most of the space is used for dining.

The location, the food and the staff were outstanding. We stayed three nights and ate in the restaurant two nights where we found a great selection of dishes better than you normal pub grub. The breakfast was excellent and Sandwich is an absolute delight to walk round.

Tiny teenie comments. No hairdryer in room and the wifi was hit and miss in our room. Other than these tiny tiny niggles there was nothing to dislike.

Stayed many times, new owner this year so guess work in progress. Great location & oldy worldly feel that is in keeping with the village & building. Friendly staff & nice evening meal. Parking OK but un secure & restricted for spaces. Pet friendly.

Both dinner and breakfast were excellent; plenty of choice and all served quickly without undue wait. Prices were fair and represented good value. Parking was available as promised and right by the rear entrance. Perfect!

Not a lot... The room was perfectly fine, in keeping with an old house. However, the en-suite shower room was rather small but nonetheless adequate. It was a pity that the shower curtain was way too long and hence looked untidy, but worked ok.

lovely old building with a feel for history. Rooms were comfortable although the attic room is a bit small (but totally adequate for an overnight stay). En suites were also small, but fully functional and have everything you need for a short stay. I’m sure some of the double rooms are bigger but for a group of 4 friends it was lovely to be able to get two twin rooms. Breakfast was great and all freshly cooked to order. We also ate our evening meal there and the food was superb.
