Location- excellent Quiet peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Breakfasts good.

Limited food choice on menu. Too expensive for what you got. Fish pie and brisket very tasty, but starters were bland. It says on website indoor pool so you expect to be able to swim in it - but not to have to pay extra for that!! My biggest disappointment! Paths needed cleaning of bird poo.

Great new Spa. Good country location, with nice surroundings. Good caring staff. Great quality of food. Had a lovely evening sampling the tasting menu.

Booking.com site lacked information about any meals included in our booking, very disappointed that not even breakfast was included. Dining areas would benefit from refurb, they lack warmth and comfort

Day one breakfast was lovely except it was cold. Day two much improved. Ingredients were lovely.

Signage at entrance there is only one sign you miss it if you travel from one direction. No lights on down the drive at night? Curtains hanging off in room? Curtain in dining area hanging minus two hooks which spoils the look. We were in a disabled persons room and the arm support near toilet was loose and always in the way. I had to secure it with a loo roll. Toilet seat was loose and moved all the time. Coming back from a day out to find the place all locked up at ten o'clock.

We stayed at this hotel because we were attending a concert at the open air theatre. Staff were knowledgeable about the theatre and provided information which proved useful when we got there. They also ensured we had a taxi to get there as we were a little off the beaten track. The setting of the hotel was lovely despite us not really being there long enough to enjoy it. The staff were exceptional and friendly without being unprofessional. The upgrade was an unexpected treat and meant that we had a beautiful four poster room.

Only one member of staff was taking food orders and serving on a busy Sunday lunchtime. He was run off his feet and he really should have had help. We don't know the reason for the lack of staff and we did note that the reception staff stepped in to help with some tasks but a hotel of this calibre should always ensure they have enough waiting staff on any occasion.

Beautiful location. Lovely surroundings. Our room was a suite and well laid out. Bed was very comfortable. Dolce Gusto coffee maker, tea, coffee, bottled water and biscuits. Lounge area made it a comfortable place to relax.

Rooms were accessible from outside so if it was raining hard, you would get wet trying to access the bar and restaurant. Our room was clean except the shower where clumps of hair had been left. Thankfully, as soon as we mentioned it to reception, it was sorted out. Service in the bar was slow and drinks were very expensive. One medium glass of red wine and a Diet Coke cost ÂŁ15.45.

A fabulous, quality hotel in its own extensive grounds near Scarborough. Our dog was treated like royalty. Incredible gardens with seating areas dotted around in secluded areas. Whoever designed the whole layout was a genius, it's beautiful. Fabulous food. Staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent room - everything about it, and the hotel, was quality.

A big disappointment in that the advertised pool and spa was closed! One of the reasons we chose this hotel was for the pool facilities, which were advertised - no mention of it being unavailable for use.

Delightful grounds. Food and bar v good. Room on ground floor v helpful Staff very nice Dog friendly

Disabled parking is hit and miss. Can park for short periods of time in loading area but it can be full, needing a long reverse to exit it. Main car park has steps or steep slope to reception

Very dog friendly with comfortable and well appointed rooms. Food is of a very high standard and dining room service is very good. The bar is comfortable and well stocked although lacking real ale or any of the numerous craft beers.

Plumbing in the suite was beginning to show it's age as were the creaking doors. WiFi is not good with very limited bandwidth. This is especially imported considering the poor mobile reception. No destination charger for EVs

This hotel is lovely, the staff very friendly and efficient. We had to pay for an upgrade so the room was very nice. Had evening meal which we couldn’t fault, everything was delicious.

Wrong information given over the phone regarding the extra bed we ordered so had no choice but to upgrade to a suite. This made our stay far more expensive than we had budgeted for. Disappointing.
