Vicky and Steve are excellent hosts, very welcoming, helpful and nothing is too much trouble, their staff are also always very polite and helpful. We have stayed at The Raincliffe on three separate occasions now and would highly recommend a stay here, the full English breakfast is outstanding and well worth the stay on it's own. The hotel has excellent facilities is very clean, professionally decorated and is in fabulous location close to the beach, Spa and town centre. On street parking is also available outside the property. We look forward to our next stay. Paul & Elaine Deighton, Leeds.

The lady on reception was very pleasant and made us feel welcome from the very start. Street parking cost £2 a day, managed to get parked very close to the hotel, might not be so lucky if it was busier. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment but we were offered the usual or if we wanted sandwiches for later.
Like many hotels, prices for B&B are very steep but The Raincliffe was on par with other similar hotels so can't complain. The seagulls kept us awake for most of the night, windows were open as it was so warm but apart from that we had a good stay.

The room was quiet and clean, the bathroom was clean and tidy with a shower cubicle. The water pressure was fairly low but adequate to have a shower. The mattress was very soft which was not what we were used to but still comfortable. The room was equipped with USB sockets and plenty of plug sockets etc for chargers if needed. We opted for the vegetarian breakfast which was very nice. It was all piping hot and served quickly. The coffee was of a good quality and the room was bright and clean
The coffee was just a cup poured from a communal jug, would have been nice to have coffee / tea for each table

Had a lovely last minute one night stay here. Great location and only one minute drive into South Bay. Parking was fine and the hotel provides a parking permit for a small price. The room we stayed in had a double bed and three singles. The room was lovely, and had everything we required for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was very nice, always a winner when they offer a full English. All in all, a lovely hotel and we will certainly be back. Many thanks.

Located on Valley drive a short 5 minute walk from the south beach the hotel is perfect for exploring the Town and South bay Area & picking up shows at the Spa. We booked an overnight stay to see Sting at the Open Air Theatre at the other end of Town but didn't find the 30 min walk too tiring. Notwithstanding to odd Seagull noise (to be expected) we like the quiet on an evening. The proprietors and staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Our room was on the second floor and was clean and well equipped for our needs. There is a bar area with pool table and relaxing seating area outside. The walls were tastefully decorated with mostly western movie pictures which for a child of the 60's/70's made my day!!. Breakfast is between 8/9 (but can be arranged to your timescales) and was delicious. We had a full english but there is ample to suite all tastes. We explored the Spa, Esplanade and South/North beaches as stated all within easy reach or a nice sea front walk. Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely recommend and will be back.

The room was lovely, well set out for a twin room and had what you'd expect in the way of coffee supplies, tv, kettle etc. It was a hot day, so they'd also thought to keep the curtains closed so thrle room was cooler, and there was a fan if needed. We returned from our evening out quite late, and it was all well lit for getting in. Location 10 mins walk from South Bay was brilliant. We liked admiring the big Victorian houses opposite while having breakfast.
The only let down was the cooked breakfast was a little average but perhaps to be expected for a budget hotel. Plenty of juices, cereal etc. Would definitely stay again

The Raincliffe Hotel is a beautiful old tall building on a street with complementary old tall buildings. They also have huge front gardens and hills. I loved all the bushes, trees and greenery of the hotel's property - especially beautiful in May. It's a classic old B&B - very sturdy. We stayed on the top (2nd floor). The room was a decent size for two people as was the bathroom. Everything was clean and up to date.
It was quite warm in the room and the window didn't open very wide so I can imagine it'd be even hotter in summer. Our room faced the street which had a lot of traffic, except in the middle of the night.

We arrived too early for the normal check-in time but went to enquire about parking. The owner took our name and gave us a parking permit for 2 days, and it was only £4. He then said, "You can book in as your room is ready. The room was small, but we knew this as we booked a small double room. It was very nice plenty big enough very clean and a very comfy bed. We went out for a meal and on return we had a drink in the bar, which is very nice with a pool table too. Breakfast was amazing. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, we will definitely be returning
Having to climb the stairs as I have reduced mobility. But asked and they put us on the first floor so not too many stairs

The location is close to the beach and town centre whilst also having the benefit of being in a quiet location. Breakfast was very good with a couple of exceptions mentioned below. Bed was very comfortable.
We pre ordered some porridge that on arrival was not cooked, some fruit would have also been a welcome addition. The temperature of the shoe caused from tepid to quite hot on the same setting.

Very well situated hotel, only a 10 minute walk into Scarborough and similar to seafront. Very nice room, clean and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent, Easy to park in front of the hotel with a parking permit obtained at check in. We would certainly stay here again.
Not a fan of having to pre order breakfast the night before. Small cups at breakfast, prefer a mug.
