Seascale is pretty lowkey, but for a beach location, you'd be hard pushed to do better. We had incredible views of the sea, and access to the beach was a fairly short walk away. For a peaceful, out of the way break, just perfect, but location also handy for visiting the lakes and other surrounding attractions. Great comfy bed.

Not so much a case of 'didn't like', but offering some (even basic) form of catering would be helpful for those staying. Though there are plenty of places nearby, and info is provided on takeaway/delivery options etc.

I have stayed twice at this hotel/lodge, both times the rooms were clean, fresh and very comfortable, lots of draw and cupboard space. The location is within walking distance of the train station if you wanted to travel up/down the coast, although it is quite easy to hop from once location to each of the coastal towns and villages. The view from my bedroom was amazing looking out over the sea. The is a dining room with a toaster and a kitchen with a microwave if you need it.

It is not a "Not Like" but I would say in the dining room put a Microwave if this is allowed within HSE laws??

Very quiet. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious, bathroom was very good. Parking to rear of hotel with EV charger if you drive a go kart there.

Nothing we didn't like as such. Only a few nit picking things, 2 of our lamps didnt work and the tv in the back bedroom didnt get any channels and a hdmi lead was damaged and hanging out of it. The room could do with some plates and cutlery on top of the cups as the only food available is from a takeaway a couple of miles down the road and unless you can find a plate somewhere then you're eating out of foil tubs.

Easy to get to, plenty of free parking, lovely clean room with an extra large bed, modern ensuite, tv, fridge and plenty of storage. We had 2 dogs with us and there was plenty of room for all of us. We requested a sea view and were not disappointed. Walk to the beach literally a few minutes at the end of the road. The staff we met were friendly and helpful, easy instructions and check in/out procedure. There are no food facilities on site but we were prepared for that and took things we could prepare ourselves, croissants, cheese, sliced meats etc. There is a fantastic bar/restaurant just a few doors down, The Calder I think, great food, lovely staff and a great bear garden. Ideal for exploring the national park which is only a few mile up the road. Seascale itself is very quiet but it has a beach, a pub and a co-op, everything we needed and lots of peace and quiet.

Nothing we can think of.....

The cleaners do the most incredible job our room was immaculately cleaned, thank you to the ladies. The view of the beach from our room was stunning, watching the sunset and then stargazing wow. No light pollution just beautiful. The bed was extremely comfortable too.The beach is accessible within a 2 mins walk down a pathway, which also takes you to the back garden of a hotel where you can get food and drinks. 2 mins to the train station to visit other villages. Went to whitehave which was disappointing. Great room for a stay with 2 big golden retrievers. Fridge in the room was great idea as we needed it for food and medication.

Shame no village pub for food and drinks but had a great welcome at the hotel a couple of buildings down from here. Very little in the village other than a coop but was perfect for our visit as just wanted beach walks.

It's close to sea, very nice view of sea and the property is nice and clean , The housekeeping girl is very nice and helpful, always have a smile on a face always used to ask if we need anything

We did not like only one thing is there is no restaurant and nearby restaurant. Some time they are open or close, we have a problem with breakfast and lunch in struggling to find a restaurant .

The sea view and location was perfect. The fridge in the was really useful to have and the shower was lovely. Highly recommend the Calder House Hotel (bar and grill) for food and drinks. great for breakfast too and a 2 min walk from Bailey Lodge. Perfect that they welcomed dogs. The room was recently refurbished and nice and the bed was really comfy.

Not having breakfast on site was a bit of a pain and none of the literature mentioned that the Calder Bar and Grill a few doors down does breakfast 8-10am. We found this out on the second morning. Really nice food. It also said Sky movies and sports was available but it’s literally just a freeview TV Could do with fans in the room as it was pretty warm on the 2nd floor even with the windows wide open.

Perfect location... secluded ... rugged ... wonderful even in wild weather! Good size room ... comfortable bed ... warm ... Internet access... didn't use TV views far surpassed anything on TV ... sunsets ... wild and windy sea ... full moon ... (nearly) friendly community... no crowds ... sometimes we had the whole beach to ourselves ... my Springer Spaniel thought he was in heaven ... helpful staff when we locked ourselves out of the room. Lodge very quiet ... wonderful!

Microwave in the room ... or use of would be an added bonus

we were attending an event in Seascale and the location is perfect for this. I messaged to say the TV was broken and when we returned to our room a new TV was in situ. probably the quickest response to a repair of any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. bathroom was lovely and new and the bed was comfy. fab views!

it’s unstaffed so that seems a little impersonal. Parts of the building are fairly shabby and a little grubby but it served a purpose and as a one night stay was ok.

The rooms consisted of a sitting room with a settee, a desk with a table top fridge and tv, a good sized bedroom and a bathroom (shower only) It was obvious that the room had recently been refurbished and it appears that all the other rooms have either been refurbished or are in the process of being done.

A coffee table in the sitting area would have been useful. A working lift would have been handy (2 flights of stairs) The shower was really good, but it took a long time for the hot water to come through (about 4-5 minutes)
