We always choose to stay at the Chase Hotel whenever we visit Whitehaven, and it's easy to see why. The hotel's location is simply perfect, being within easy walking distance to both the town center and the picturesque Whitehaven marina. Whether we're in the mood for a leisurely stroll through town or a scenic walk along the waterfront, everything is just a short distance away, making it incredibly convenient. The hotel itself has a charming and welcoming atmosphere, with friendly staff who go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-equipped, offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploring the local area. We appreciate the thoughtful details in the room decor and the comfortable beds that guarantee a good night's sleep. We also enjoy the on-site amenities, including a lovely bar and restaurant where we can unwind with a drink or enjoy a delicious meal without having to leave the hotel. The breakfast options are varied and of high quality, providing a great start to the day. If you're looking for a place that's close to all the action but still provides a peaceful and comfortable stay, the Chase Hotel is an excellent choice. Relatively small but comfortable room, clean; large secure car park although floodlights bothered us a bit during the night. Good breakfast.

Being shouted at by the chef for bringing bikes into the lobby after being told we could store them indoors. Receptionist sorted out the misunderstanding. For those cycling Hadrian's Wall / Coast to Coast, you can securely store bikes indoors overnight but they should remain outside (in a locked cage) during the day.

Stayed for 4 days while exploring Cumbria, beautiful place to stay(needs redecorating though 😂) staff very friendly always on hand if you need anything, food excellent (our compliments to the chef) carpark easily accessed always spaces.Room nice and clean and well presented, tea and coffee replaced daily if needed,good shower/bath facilities. Would definitely stay there again if up that way.

The hotel was a wonderful location for a trip into Whitehaven. The facilities were easy to use, and the beds comfy. The breakfast was also tasty in the morning, with a varied selection on offer. The staff were helpful throughout, and I usually try to stay in the Chase whenever I visit Whitehaven.

One of the USB charging points in the room didn't work, but the staff were apologetic. Despite this, myself and my partner had a great stay in this hotel.

Old style Manor type building in a quiet position, 15 minutes walk downhill to the beautiful town of Whitehaven/harbour. The hotel staff are very pleasant and helpful and will call you a taxi if required. There are many bars and restaurants in this small town and several shops. Beautiful drive from M6 motorway, around half an hour. Also close to the towns of Workington and Penrith, both very different and nice to explore. There is also a free car park at this hotel.

The staff. Natalie and Emma were amazing. Warm, very nice people. The staff are the best part of the Chase Hotel.The food was excellent, from the included breakfast, to the really well-cooked dinners, I really recommend their pork chops in black pepper sauce, it was simply amazing. The rooms are small, but clean and well-supplied, with plenty of hot water and fast wi-fi.

The walls are very thin, you can hear people in the next room, from the talk to their alarms and their sneezes. I was woken up on two nights from the next room.

Comfort, rooms are clean and tidy, no issues at all. The lady kept the kitchen open late so that we could eat in the hotel, food was lovely. The staff kindly gave us a breakfast to take away on the Sat morning as we needed to leave sharpish.

Only issue I could really criticise is that we couldn't access our bikes until 8am the following morning as staff were not present to unlock room where the bikes were kept. We were due to leave at 6am but had to change plans. The hotel previously had a bike lock up so I didn't give it a thought to ask the question beforehand (my fault) This is something I feel people need to be aware of. Groups cycling c2c etc who may want to leave the hotel early morning should look to plan this around their travel.

Only stayed one night en route to Scotland. Nice clean hotel, family room was huge! Bed was comfy, plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Bar prices were very reasonable. Breakfast was fantastic, especially since I didn't realise it was included in the price. Bathroom was way above my expectations for a hotel. The toilets in reception were impeccable! (I judge a lot on an establishment by the cleanliness of toilets, and these were fantastically clean) The staff were friendly and approachable. If we come this way again we'd definitely look to book here first.

A minor concern initially was we could hear people in rooms when in the corridors, although when in our room we didn't hear others. Only 1 window in our room had the ability to open. We thought that we'd get too warm, but fortunately we didn't.

Friendly staff, lovely evening meal in restaurant, lots of parking, clean, good facilities in room. Attractive decor. Breakfast cooked nicely. Easy stroll into town.

Mattress was too soft for our tastes. Bed was standard double. We prefer king size where possible as husband 6 ft 4 and big build, so didn't have best night's sleep. Breakfast was OK, but not huge choice of options.
