Perfect for instant access to/from railway station. Very fairly priced. VERY comfy bed. Good shower.
I understand the way the hand basin/ loo cistern water saver work, but difficult to fill kettle, rinse mugs, wash hands etc. There have been comments made about the noise,; I stayed on two separate occasions, the first night was fine but the return visit had, what seemed to be, a couple with very loud voices talking almost non stop from about 5.30pm well into the evening at which point I switched on the fan which sort of cancelled out the noise of their voices! A full length mirror would be useful. But I'll be happy to stay here again next time I need accommodation in Shrewsbury.

It was very central for what we needed and the lady in charge was so lovely and really lovely đ We went to the Buttermarket show and returning for a few drinks in the hotel after. Great that it had a lift to the first floor and we had 3 single beds, but only 2 of us. But very happy and put up for the price because the beds were really comfortable and we liked the lady and such warm welcoming we hadâ€ïž Only the room wasnât finished? Way to light in the bedroom with just a roller blind and a plaster board across the back wall , because updating the room? However, no mention of this when booking? We do have several shows booked for the rest of the year đ So I did speak to the owner on his mobile, because we would return and was hoping he would be kind enough to give us another room with a small discount? But to no avail, he said he would look into it and never rung me back?? đ Up there next week and got us another hotel up the street with breakfast for cheaper anyway đ If you want custom owners? Make an effort to accommodate and please đ„° My Father was a business man and could not do enough to please his customers đ
We did!!! I explained above and we would return if the owner would make an effort to return correspondence and understanding???

Central location, clean, well organised, good shower, responsive staff, good value for money. The whole establishment - pub, hotel, micro-brewery - is a great example of regeneration, and I wish them well.
Cleaning my teeth was a challenge, and washing was only possible using the shower. Couldn't fill the kettle directly from the tap - all due to the basin/toilet combo which I was interested to see, as I've never used one before (I think it's designed to use grey water to flush the toilet, saving water. ) Great idea but tricky to use in this configuration. Perfect for the space though.

Modern touches throughout the hotel. The hotel was a different vibe to the pub and we were really impressed. We were upgraded immediately upon arrival as our booked room was having work done. We ran into a signal issue with the tv and we were moved to another room again no problem. The lady who accommodated us was super bubbly, kind and helpful. We felt really looked after and we had a great nights sleep as me and my partner slept separately lol. There was one mattress that was hard and one soft which was perfect as we both like different firmness.
Genuinely didnât find an issue with anything, there was a lot of shouting from outside the building but that wasnât any issue with the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised we couldnât hear the pub music.

It is a room only location close to Shrewsbury railway and bus stations and the historic Castle, attached to but separate from the pub of the same name, with a separate entrance. Warm welcome from the pub landlady and a comparatively new (only one year old apparently) layout, with a lift to the second floor where my room was located. The en suite room was adequately equipped with kettle and tea/coffee making facility and a TV. Although there is no on site parking - the pub is on a busy main road - the nearby side road leading to the paid station car park actually has a number of free (for two hours between 8 am and 6 pm and free after that) and safe parking spaces that allowed me to park for the duration of my overnight stay free of charge, something I was not expecting!
There was a considerable amount of noise - door banging - from nearby rooms from around 7 am, with no consideration for other guests. The window Venetian blind is too tight for the width of the window, buckling as a result - given attention this should be fine! The en suite is tiny, with a full size modern shower cubicle at one end but a miniscule sink literally on top of and emptying into the toilet cistern below it at the other end. There is no way to prevent water splashing on the floor!

I booked 2 rooms for myself and a group of friends for an event at the Buttermarket and it was perfectly located, right across the road from the train station and round the corner from the venue. Very friendly and helpful staff. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel before check in and again the next morning while we went for breakfast, down the road, before check out. Spacious rooms, with en suite, tea and coffee in room and fans for hot weather. Comfortable beds and clean and tidy rooms. .
I would probably recommend using earplugs for sleeping due to the hotel close proximity to a busy main road.

Location was brilliant. Rooms were bright fresh very clean and the bed and pillows were so so comfortable. For a central place to get your head down we really canât fault this. The staff and owner were so welcoming and friendly and the prices in the pub were brilliant! We parked right across the road and it was under ÂŁ10 for 24 hours!
The only thing missing was a mirror in the room - not ideal for getting glammed up! Although fans were provided in the room the higher up you go the heat hits you! Mirrors and air con and this place is an easy 10!

Location close to the train station, clean room, very kind and helpful employee.toiletries included, radiator in the room and possibility to open it.
To get access to the room you have to go to the bar first. There they tell you that everything is electronic and that you have to call a phone number to get your room key. Everything is electronic, they tell you to install an app, enter codes and passwords. Access to the room is done with your phone. I found this complicated after a long day at work. The bar employee helped me. The room was too small, the bathroom sink was tiny. In the corridor you see cameras everywhere, from all angles, scary..

The room was absolutely spotlessly clean! The bed was cozy and comfy. The door/key system is one I've never known about. Great if you're tech savvy but it wouldn't work on my phone. After about 20 minutes of trying to get in the room unsuccessfully, thankfully I was given a "key fob".
This isn't a negative but needs to be noted. There was only one very small mirror above the toilet in the ensuite, luckily I didn't need to wash and style my hair. To make the room perfect it just needs a bigger mirror in the bedroom next to a plug. I think the rooms are brand new and this maybe an over sight.

Very convenient for the railway station. A lot of work going on in the building but only during working hours so didn't interfere with sleep. Very hospitable staff. Strange key system - all electronic, took a while to process but OK in the end. Room very clean and comfortable but it was facing the main road outside the station.
Electronic key system a bit weird but will be fine in future, I hope! Room faced the street but wasn't too bad once I managed to close both parts of the sash.
