Excellent location right in the heart of town. We stayed Good Friday its a busy bar in the evenings with a DJ so be prepared if you want a quiet night in. It didn’t bother us as we enjoy a lively bar and the extra beers helped us sleep :-) Breakfast is a cooked breakfast which we did enjoy and not a massive quantity but the quality was excellent so we enjoyed it but strange there is no breakfast cereal, juice or fruit available just coffee and tea so I think price for one night was a little expensive ( we paid £169) Room was very clean and named Grope Lane we laughed about, we slept comfortable in the bed but was woken up around 6:30am with bin wagons I think but once they drove off I fell back to sleep ok. I would stay again if I saw it at a lower price but ask for a room maybe at back of building if they have any.

No cereal, fruit or juice offered.

The room was nice. The bed was really comfy and there was a clean and modern bathroom with a great shower. The breakfast was lovely and there was a good choice. I really cannot fault the room or food.

The fire alarm went off at 5am. We waited out in the street until the Fire and Rescue Service arrived and dealt with the issue (around 30mins). This is clearly all unavoidable but we were concerned that there was obviously no one there on duty at the premises with us throughout the night. Someone did arrive after a while from elsewhere but didn't speak to us, do any kind of head count or go through the list of guests to make sure no-one was still in the building. Nobody spoke to us at the time or later that morning when we checked out to explain what the issue had been, as there clearly hadn't been a fire.

We had a lovely 2 night stay in The Loopy Shrew. Everything about it was good. Staff were all excellent, including housekeeping and bar. The young man who served our breakfast the last morning, sorry, I didn't get his name. He was very good at his job. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. There is a door at the entrance to the accommodation that has a key code to open after the doors close in the evening. I would recommend this place as it is near the town centre and near the river. There is an abundance of restaurants to eat at. So you will never go hungry, something for everyone's taste.

I have nothing negative to say about this boutique hotel

A great location with fantastic and friendly staff. As I was attending a local folk festival, they kindly looked after my bag and even put it in the room for my arrival later that evening. My room was on the second floor, with more rooms on the first floor, so be prepared for narrow and steep stairs! It was very clean and well presented with all the amenities you could need, and a very comfy bed (especially after four nights in a tent!). The breakfast was fantastic too and included in the cost of the room.

I had some issues with the shower, as I found it was stuck on hot, but this could have been user error. It was also a big step into the shower, which is already small due to the room size and there was some water there (probably drips from the shower head) so I had a minor panic when I slipped a little! However, beyond that small moment, I really cannot fault the staff or room. I had a brilliant stay.

The property has a real characteristic feel which is lovely and very cosy, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious as was the evening food served, and the staff were second to none and couldn’t do enough for us.

The building is an old building which I completely understand (having lived in a old cottage myself for 10 years) however there were several things that just needed a little more tlc for the price that is charged, like the hook being replaced on the back of the bathroom door as we had nowhere to hang the towels and the black spots from the moisture in the bathroom on the walls and ceiling need to be painted over or cleaned, the windows, I appreciate are an original fixture but the black build up on them can be cleaned much better unfortunately. The only other thing which was a shame but I understand isnt the hotels issue themselves but it’s a shame that shrewsbury council can’t offer some sort of discount on the parking for the local hotels as we paid 60£ (20£ per day) just to park there.

Room was very clean. A nice selection of teas and coffees, etc. There was a separate entrance to the hotel, which was good, so it didn't matter when you returned to your room. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was nice - we had eggs benedict all round.

The bathroom door in our room was stiff against the floor when you tried opening it, so you could easily squish your face if not careful! We had to leave the window open overnight because the room was quite hot, and the nighttime noise was completely understandable, but we were slightly disappointed by the clanging of moving tables and chairs outside at 6:40am...! And for some weird reason, mobile phone signal was terrible in Shrewsbury (!) and unfortunately we were unable to connect to the hotel wifi.

The hotel was lovely. The staff were all extremely friendly. Drinks were a good price aswell. The rooms provided tea, coffee, hot chocolate and even lotus biscuits which made my partner extremely happy.. The breakfasts were absolutely amazing aswell it made the price paid extremey worthwhile. The rooms also included ear plugs which came in very handy on the Friday night when there was live music.

We couldn't fault the hotel one bit. Both myself and my partner agreed that the only thing we would change would be for a longer stay. We loved every aspect of it. Apart from that it was rather loud at night but what more dp you expect staying above a pub. Would definitely reccommend.

The location was Great. The room was comfortable and clean. The Breakfast was one of the best we've had for a long time. There's good, cheap parking 5 minutes away behind Theatre Severn.

We didn't know until we arrived that the Hotel is quite noisy. I feel this should be mentioned on their listing or during the booking process. It has single glazing which is due to the heritage of the building, but it lets alot of street noise in. The venue downstairs has music playing late into the night. They know this is an issue, as they provide earplugs in the room. But some mention on the listing would have prepared us better. The room had 3 windows which let in lots of light. Unfortunately, the curtains don't cut much of it out. I think blinds might be better.

The staff were really lovely, they were very helpful and checked us in early and looked after our luggage after checking out. The food was excellent- truly the best hotel food I've ever had, and among some of the top restaurants I've eaten at. The beds were comfy and cozy.

The shower was too small for anyone bigger than a size 12, the bathroom floor was slippery. The street outside was quite noisy, especially for a Monday night. Also to note, not anyone's fault but there was a plumbing issue that meant one of us had to move rooms (the staff were so accommodating about this) and the work to fix this started really early and woke us up. Can't be helped, I know, but it just made the stay more of an 8/10 rather than the full 10.

Staff were friendly and helpful making sure that we knew where to find everything we needed, including the best car park which did not charge for overnight and Sunday parking. The room had great character and was clean and comfortable with a good shower, plenty of storage space and a good supply of tea, coffee etc. The hotel is excellently placed in the centre of Shrewsbury with plenty of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. However, we chose to eat in the Loopy Shrew bar/restaurant, and I am glad we did. The food was absolutely brilliant! We would definitely stay here again if visiting Shrewsbury in the future.

No private hotel parking or discount for local car parks. The bar and around the hotel were very noisy and we sometimes had to shout to have any conversation over dinner.
