This was honestly the best weekend break my husband and I have had in a long time. The hotel, restaurant, and spa, all share the quintessential luxury that makes stays like this so relaxing and rejuvenating. The room was beautiful, the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, the wine was perfect and the spa could not have been better. It's my day job to find "issues" and the phenomenally high standard of service, quality, and attention to detail, meant I could thoroughly relax and enjoy my stay without going into "work mode." The beauty of the original building itself was so eye-catching and I would highly recommend a stay here to anyone wanting to unwind. A day and a night felt like a real holiday here.

The only slight difficulty we experienced, and it was very minor, was finding a suitable place to enjoy a cigar outside after dinner.

We loved the setting, the house itself is lovely and the spa being onsite is great, having a sauna, steam room, hot tub, hydro pool and a pool is great. It was very clean, welcoming and the breakfast was lovely. The bed was incredibly comfy too.

It would of been great if there was a way for those staying at the hotel to leave the spa in their robes and then go to their rooms to get showered etc. the changing rooms are small with others using them that aren’t staying and it felt like a disjointed part of the experience as we had to get out the spa, get dry and dressed, then go to the room to get undressed and shower/bath in our room rather than in the changing rooms.

Lovely hotel, the personnel was very kind and helpful, the room beautiful, I asked for a room accessible with elevator due to my mobility issue and they gave me a room on the side with elevator. The swimming pool with blue light is wonderful, they have also a jacuzzi and small sauna. We had dinner at the restaurant: the food is delicious and the service exceptional. There are many nice beautiful rooms where you can read a book or drink a tea, and the garden is beautiful.

Arriving at the hotel is bit challenging with public transport, there is a bus every hour. I reccomend going there by taxi or by car. I was there for a business conference. The conference room was lovely, I was only bit disappointed that water was not provided regularly during the meetings.

Room was lovely, clean and well appointed. Breakfast was exceptional and staff outstanding. Had treatment in spa and no complaints at all. Meals in restaurant very tasty and again excellent service. Staff all very friendly and happy to help. Spa and pool areas were great, showers all clean and plenty of products to use. Plenty of parking space, lovely outside areas to sit as well as lots of cosy, quiet areas in the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

If we’re being picky there were few scuffs on bedroom wall but not an issue as were minimal.

The hotel is an beautiful setting, with a spacious and nicely landscaped car park. The public spacious are very well appointed, and the room was large and comfortable, if a bit 'twee' for our taste. Excellent bathroom, towels and toiletries. Breakfast was very good: we particulary enjoyed the smoked haddock. On the whole the staff were helpful and friendly.

Some of the staff at breakfast were very off-hand. There were not enough staff to cope with check-in and check-out. I was very disappointed with the spa. I checked out of my room, and had quite a struggle to find my way in to the spa and to get my day pass. The ladies' changing room was packed, boiling hot, steamy and unpleasant There were no free lockers at all, and the other users were being quite pushy and selfish. I therefore had nowhere to put my belongings, and, assessing that the rest of the facilities would be doubly busy ( ie, this was only the ladies' changing room) I decided to give up and leave. I think the hotel is overpriced if one cannot use the spa facilities. I would not recommend it for a weekend mini-break if it is usually this busy.

This is our second visit for our wedding anniversary and it was absolutely perfect to celebrate. The staff made our room extra special to celebrate. The spar was just so beautiful and very relaxing and the staff in the spar area couldn't do enough for us. In 19 years me and my husband have never visited the same place twice but last year we had such a wonderful experience we new we had to book again for a long weekend and we are so pleased we did. Thank you for making our anniversary so special 💗 xxx

We would have liked to have new robes for the next day in the spar as our ones from the day before we're wet, but the staff did look for us but unfortunately couldn't get us some. However, not the end of the world, and we very much enjoyed our second day of the spar.

I stayed over prior to taking part in the yearly road bike event Chase the Sun, this meant a breakfast at 3am & checkout at 3.30am. The Hotel rang me months prior to the event to enquire whether I was taking part, and I can now see why. As soon as I arrived the receptionist new my reason for the stay and asked whether I needed secure storage for my bike. The Hotel also made sure that they laid on a limited breakfast, the night porter managed this early morning event exceptionally with a pre-pared takeaway breakfast bag. Thank you so much for going the extra mile to make myself & the other cyclists welcome it was exceptional service above and beyond what I had expected. Keep up the great work as this shows your attention to detail and commitment to individual customer service. I would highly recommend a stay at this great hotel and use again next year.

Form the moment we arrived we were met with a friendly face who booked us in and explained the layout upon directing us to our room. Our room was lovely and clean, the bathroom was very spacious. We got ready and went to the spa which was so nice and relaxing, the hot tub was amazing could have stayed in there all day. Later on we had dinner at the lakes restaurant, the food and service was phenomenal and worth every penny. We also had breakfast there the next morning which was included in our stay, small continental table but had everything you could need. We had a comfortable stay and would definitely visit again.

More chairs round the indoor pool/spa area, maybe have a cold water machine in there for guests to use as the little metal jugs supplied on the side were empty when we went. Outside pool needs to be maintained better as was loads of dead flies in there. Breakfast would be better if they had a toast machine, we wasn’t even offered toast with our breakfast , would expect a full English to come with toast.

Looking for a quick, fair priced spa getaway and this met our expectations. They've done well to maximise the space they have, with a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi all surrounding the pool. The sauna and steam room are very small but fine when you are the only ones in there! Booked a massage which was a good price and done very well. The staff were lovely and friendly throughout.

The air conditioning in the room didn't work, or didn't seem to when we tried to change it at 2am. Some bits of the pool were a little dirty. KIds being allowed in the spa running around and screaming did affect the atmosphere a little. Sometimes the service at dinner and breakfast was a little slow.

What is really special about this hotel is the staff, who were all (and I mean all) amazingly helpful, and really seemed to enjoy their work. They made our stay fabulous. The evening meal in the restaurant was superb, while the breakfasts were relaxing - it was so good to linger and not feel we were holding anyone up. The indoor pool was a treat, although it seemed a little crowded when more than two people were in it. But so nice to be able to get up and have a swim first thing.
