The Vine Hotel is located in the very centre of the Stafford Old Town. It is a lovely, historical building with a pub on the ground floor beautifully decorated in the old English style. The hotel's rooms are on the first and second floors. The room we had was tiny, but cute with lovely curtains in the window. It had all we needed: a comfortable double bed, electrical cattle, tea, coffee, a bathroom with hot water and a TV set. Breakfast was preapred by cheff. Parking is available for the hotel's guests free of charge. The hotel host Evette was very kind and helpful. The place has a vibe of old England. I love it and definitely would like to stay there again.

I would recommend for breakfast, an available fill-up option of tea, coffee, juice and water.

Received a very warm welcome from the staff at The Vine. The hotel is easy to find and only 10 minutes walk from the railway station. It's cosy, comfortable and old-fashioned in the best way. The room was a good size and had a proper bath! Despite being a pub-hotel, it wasn't loud in the late evening and, speaking as a lone female traveler, the whole place felt safe. I ate some meals in the pub - the food is straightforward, tasty and affordable. Decent free wifi and good TV reception.

Wasn't a difficulty for me, but there is no lift and my room was on the upper floor. There are wheelchair / flat-entry accessible areas for eating and drinking in the pub.

The inn as a whole is very quaint and traditional. The pub is a proper pub. The room was comfortable and had kettle, TV fan and a window you can actually open. The en suite was small but fit for purpose, the shower was low pressure but met my needs. I didn't wash my hair only got it wet but if I needed to rinse shampoo and/or conditioner then I feel like the water pressure might not be strong enough. The staff were friendly and explained everything I needed to know, including how to get in once the pub closes. Some people might feel that it is a bit dated but I think it adds to it's charm. There is something odd about a lovely old building that has shiny, new decor on the inside.

Water pressure was a bit weak in the shower but it was fine for my needs.

The property is listed as "Staffords' oldest inn". It certainly had character! The location was spot on and the parking was perfect for this stay. I wouldn't hesitate returning again if in the area. Staff were friendly and happy to oblige. Nice choice of draught beers in the bar. The evening meal was superb! Rare steak hand cooked to perfection by the resident (and happy/sociable) chef! It's a real treat these days to get food cooked correctly! They even had a gluten free menu.

The decor in the rooms is a bit shoddy - it's not bad - it's just "the final 5%" rough around the edges..... VERY squeeky floorboards in the room - poor guests in the room below - almost as squeeky as my knees climbing the stairs to the 2nd floor (steep and twisted....the stairs not my knees hahaha) but nothing that would stop me returning again!

From the moment I called to say can they give me directions from the train station as I couldn't get on with Google Maps as I have a sight impediment, I was stunned by the kindness and support offered. Yvette, the Assistant Manager, was exceptional and even came on her night off to meet me and escort me back to hotel. She made sure that I was looked after and was so helpful. The room was so comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. I was well and truly looked after and nothing was too much. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend to others.

Absolutely nothing. Perfect

Location is excellent breakfast very good value and the staff are incredibly helpful and very friendly.

The curtains in room 7 need rehanging and the bathroom is functional but very basic. The view overlooking the many bins wasn't particularly nice! Very noisy neighbours/street noise/ bin emptying and a smell of smoking was permanently along the corridor outside the room ..would prefer a room in the main building rather than the wing we were in but all this won't prevent us from returning.

location right in the centre of Stafford, a good selection of beers and spirits as well as food menu, we all enjoyed our evening meal there and a few games of pool later. Breakfast was lovely the next day too. The building is Grade II Listed and the rooms are a bit creaky and rustic due to this, but it was an enjoyable stay.

Only issue with Grade II listed buildings is the floors, we were on the ,middle level and it sounded like we had a baby elephant above us walking backwards and forwards in their room in the evening an early morning 😋

I took the train up from London. Easily walkable with my luggage. The bar staff was helpful while I waited to check in and food was good. The staffer at the desk was friendly and helpful. The bed was really comfy and was pretty quiet for location. The bartender and desk staff were extremely helpful both on arrival and at check out

Room and facility are a bit worn around the edge. Bathroom floor could maybe have used a bit deeper clean. I overheard one female staffer telling people not to bother her when she wasn't working. Might be better if she didn't hang around or perhaps had this conversation in a place where there were not guests/patrons. There was another young person wandering around talking to staff. Couldn't tell if they were employee or friend or what. Wearing headphones the whole time. A bit strange

Wonderful hotel in Stafford’s oldest Inn . Loads of character although it may be difficult if you are less mobile as there’s a few stairways to negotiate. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious . The room was small but adequate with a big, comfy bed so we slept well. The only thing that lets this stay down was the bathroom. It’s very small ,no bath just a shower but that’s okay , I can deal with that. What I couldn’t deal with was the black mould which hadn’t been cleaned from the shower door . It was all down the metal part of the door and around the glass part . I did ask for it to be cleaned but it wasn’t . I ended up using loo roll and soap and cleaning it off myself . What a shame as it spoiled the experience in this lovely property.

Staff were very friendly. It’s a very old inn and has lots of character. It was quiet when we stayed, but walls are thin, and it’s easy to hear any noise in the corridor. Not surprising given it’s age. We had a really delicious evening meal in the pub.

We knew about it before we stayed, but be aware that stairs to rooms are quite steep. Not sure if there are any ground floor rooms. Also note that there is no air conditioning. Not a problem when we stayed, but would be uncomfortable in summer.
