Spacious room

Very long walk to the room and TV was so far away from the bed no point trying ti watch it. The leasure facilities are small but perfectly useable. Be aware though the pool can be used by people outside of the hotel so can get busy.

The room was well decorated and contained a 4 poster bed and comfy chairs and lots of cushions. There was also a lovely view of the garden. It had all the facilities you would expect and the bathroom was bright and spotlessly clean and offered high quality shampoo, bath wash etc The bar was of a traditional decor and served good bar meals at a reasonable price. The restaurant was excellent. It overlooked the beautiful gardens and had an extensive choice of menus. Every course was stunning and again reasonably priced.

The swimming pool was quite small and narrow but I was too busy to try it so not really a criticism.

Very warm welcome as we were a little late checking in - Had dinner in the restaurant, again the service was very warm and accommodating. The food was very nice and although we were the only diners left we weren't hurried out of the place. The staff actually make the place what it is.

The only 2 gripes were the temperature in the bedroom and the landing outside was far too hot and uncomfortable, it had been a very warm day but very little ventilation. I actually thought the central heating was on. The other gripe was the quality of the pillows on the bed.

Nice friendly reception staff lovely, could not fault them and they answered some queries we had.

We booked the breakfast the night before at reception but when we got there to the restaurant next morning a young foreign lady on the desk said that we had not booked and made me feel a bit uncomfortable like I was making it up. I had a weetabix but the 'serve yourself' was very poor. The full English breakfast came and was not good the mushrooms were tiny scraps, the egg was hard and I complained very nicely to the same young lady and she said that it was how the mushrooms came and did not seem unduly bothered and seemed to want to get the table cleared up My daughter then mentioned it to the lady on reception who reimbursed me for the breakfast which I had mostly left, we were going to the funeral of a close relative so I was not really up to complaining

Location is great, i was roughy 20 minutes drive to Stoke and very quite location. The leisure facilities are free to guests and open late, so if you have busy day, there's still time to relax in the sauna or a dip in the pool, the gym is small but well equipped. Although, we didn't eat in the restaurant, the food looked amazing.

Although the rooms were well prepared and clean, bright and comfy. The bathroom needs a kean eye to finish to a great standard I.e. grouting needs a steam clean and the door frame cloud do with some attention. The leisure centre is a little dated and could do with a good sprucing up I.e grills need cleaning and changing room a bit tired..however these are minor issues.

Great receptionist ( Jessica) when we arrived, she was very efficient and helpful also very friendly. Lovely rooms and the evening meal was delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff

The toilets near the bar were out of action due to a leak, not happy that we all had to go back to our room if we needed to use the toilet. The waitress at breakfast needs more training, she got most of our order ( party of eight) incorrect and a few errors on what we ordered and what we got. Without any full apology, she tried but felt she had no empathy.

Stone House Hotel is a very attractive place. We were in the accessible twin room which has a wet room, plenty of safety rails, a shower chair but as always..nowhere to put your soap, shampoo etc! Comfy enough beds. The common areas are beautifully decorated and staff are very helpful. The lady at the pool, the reception and waiting staff are all to be commended. Hot tub and sauna are welcome additions.There is a small gym and pool too. Food is excellent! We chose the menu from Saffron and it was fabulous. You can mix and match menus. The Methi Lamb was particularly good! Word to the wise...Pay for breakfast at reception ..it's cheaper than walking in and good value for money. Looks like they have great deals over the festive period too.

The shower could do with some instructions to save getting a cold soaking from the rain shower! These days hotel rooms always seem a bit dark. Better ceiling lights please. The pool was a little cool for me and much smaller than the photos indicate. However got a good swim and the staff there couldn't be more helpful. All in all, would be nitpicking to find fault with this lovely place.

The hotel was clean, it had nice decor and the rooms were tastefully decorated. It was actually much better than I expected when I first pulled in. It is much nicer inside than the drive up to it. The reception is a little dated and the fish tank needed a clean, but everything else after this was really very good! There were good amenaties in the room and having a private garden was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful.

That they required a £50 security fee for the key. Whilst this wasn't a problem, there are days in the month when I wouldn't necessarily have £50 in my account. And not knowing about this fee requirement until checking in at 00:30am is absolutely terrifying. If I hadn't had £50 spare in my account, what would have happened!??

We came here for our first wedding anniversary and it was lovely, the rooms were really nice and clean and the bed was lovely and comfortable, staff had decorated our bed and left a lush little note, we also ordered room service and the food was amazing and very good priced. The leisure facilities were really nice as well Would definitely stay here again.

The people below us were very noisy and kept us awake till after midnight then woke us up again on the morning about 5.30 am apart from this I have absolutely no complaints about the hotel staff and facilities

Breakfast simple but lovely, best Indian food I have ever had in any restaurant also other menu's for evening meals A La Carte - lovely choice all around, bar snacks & sandwiches really nice, children's menu as well which looked very good value. Suite's are lovely very comfortable, spacious, bed is huge & bathroom. Great location for Stone & the surrounding Staffordshire area. Staff are very attentive & helpful, swimming pool was nice & the sauna, very quiet in the days, weekends tend to be more busy. All around I can see the owner & his team are really working hard consistently delivering nice standards for everyone to enjoy.
