The staff were amazing and seemed to treat everyone with a personal touch, wether they were there for coffee or a guest in the hotel. We felt spoiled (as did our dog) and had a great time!

Nothing, it was absolutely perfect!

restaurant service was good. Location in town centre was excellent and in easy reach of alternative restaurants (Chinese within 100m, very good). Room cleanliness and housekeeping brilliant. Reception very helpful.

WiFi didn't work in the room (had to go in main building to use). Bathroom far too small. Didn't need the coffee machine or radio which just took up space on the desk and were a nuisance when I wanted to use the desk. Windows part of the building character but in need of overhaul so they could be opened and closed easily. Room that we occupied is apparently being altered in next few weeks.

The room was lovely. Bed exceptionally clean. The bathroom could do better. The extras were amazing. Drinks and snacks ect. Dining room is lovely. Lovely young blonde girl serving was lovely. The food was nice. Just a shame my eggs royal had hard eggs and not runny! 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Over all it’s a lovely place to stay. If we came back to thirsk we would stay here again.

A couple of the older staff members (dining / bar) could be a little more diplomatic when dealing with customers. I appreciate it’s a stressful job but it’s a job of choice. We all know hospitality is hard at times but the customer is usually right. Sadly we had a strong smell of drains in room 7. I know that can’t always be helped but just a heads up.

I found the staff very friendly. The location in the town is good. Nice restaurant.

The bathroom was a bit tired and the annexe room hot, but thankfully there was a fan. Without it, we couldn't sleep. Very busy car park, so we had to pay for parking out the front until a space became available. I also found lots of little beasts in my fruit in the morning. The waitress said she'd check the other bowls and very quickly came back to say they were clear. I didn't find the insects until I'd lifted the bowl and removed the cling film, so must've disturbed them. So not convinced other bowls were clear.

A beautiful hotel in a central location with lots of restaurants & pubs nearby. Most of the staff were friendly & welcoming. Bedroom was comfortable with good mattress & pillows. We both found it very quite & had a good sleep. Bathroom had a bath & shower with lots of hot water. Breakfast had a good selection & what we had was lovely.

The only fault we found with the room was a dirty mirror. It looked like something had been sprayed on it. We had a warm welcome from most of the staff apart from our last morning where the man on the desk completely ignored us when he clearly saw us. At breakfast we had a dirty cup which had lipstick on it. I know these seem small faults but for a 4 star these things shouldn't happen.

The breakfast was delicious. Stayed three nights and had different dishes each day and all excellent. Catered very well for my partner who is gluten free and everything he wanted could be adapted.

Quite a few stairs to get to our room which they maybe should mention for those less fit. Also, our room was a little dusty across some of the lamps and things on the furniture. The toilet was within a vanity which was wooden and right next to the over bath shower. It was almost impossible to keep the vanity dry - they would be better to have a fixed screen to avoid this rather than the shower curtain.

Cosy & friendly, the food was pretty good overall but it was excellent on the first night could have been better on the second. Prices of the drinks were very good, the hotel was fab as it covered everything all under one roof. The bedding & towels were of an excellent quality & the serving staff deserve a mention they made us feel very welcome & even sang happy birthday to my husband at breakfast - very nice touch.

On arrival we were very disappointed that our luggage couldn’t be secured safely so that we could venture out into Thirsk, this has never happened to us before which made us very sad especially as we’d come to celebrate my husband’s birthday, so initially my husband had to go out on his own. This was resolved after a while and our room was ready earlier which enabled us to put our cases away.

Large hotel (old coaching inn but extended) in the centre of Thirsk with several pubs and restaurants close by. Hotel has good bar and restaurant, serving very good evening meals and breakfast. Car parking in hotel grounds at rear. Room located as one of a few in converted mews outbuildings, with very comfortable bed.

The room was small and the bathroom even smaller. With the door opening into the bathroom taking up space, almost impossible to move around there. Room itself had good facilities so lack of space was not such an issue there. Wet weather during stay so moving between hotel and mews building a wet trip but can't blame the hotel! Pity that the room location was not advised during the booking, though.

Breakfast was actually good BUT noone to greet us. Had to go find her. Buffett in a separate room which was ok but no sugar for the weetabix. Had to find the lady again. Was told it was on the table but wasnt so had to find the lady again. She had to get some. Then had a very dirty cup. Blamed this on the night porter. She then went round taking all the dirty cups from various tables !!!

Dirty cups. No staff to help you was in the bar. Only another couple in so wasnt watching the dining room or getting coffee's etc for other people. No sugar for cearal had to ask.

Due to staying in Thirsk we thought we would venture out for food. Although places looked good, nowhere looked as good as the hotel so we went back to eat and certainly didn't regret it. Food was excellent. Our dog was made a fuss of - thats always an easy way to leave a positive impression :-) Room was big and the bed was comfortable. We had breakfast in the morning, which again was great and again, Spud, was made a fuss of and even got a sausage for his breakfast!

We didn't have a window in our room and when we first arrived the room was a little hot so we had to open the door that goes out to the car park. Not a problem really but the only slight negative.
