The bed was very comfortable and the shower was really good. Lovely old building in beautiful location

The room was a long way from check in, through corridors to a lift that went 2 floors, we were on the 3rd. The air conditioning unit, or fans which we turned off as the room was too cold, was above us in the ceiling. It whirred loudly all night. It could not be turned off. I did not sleep well if at all. We had to wait a while to be seated for breakfast which was not hot at all, the tea tasted like coffee? We also couldn't use the pool outside of check in/out times, I didn't check in till 10.30pm as we were attending a wedding...so we spent £250 for 10 hours in a noisy room with a cold breakfast. I wouldn't reccomend. I brought this up at check out, and was told 'thanks for letting us know '

Perfect hotel for a family. The staff were very welcoming and kind with our children (5 and under). Great indoor pool, very clean and not too busy.

The pool changing rooms were out of order. When I asked the spa staff (receptionist) what we do she was very vague and looked as confused as I was!

Quiet location helpful smiling professional friendly staff. Large comfortable beds in rooms with good facilities.Excellent clean swimming pool, sauna and steam room plus a gym I didn't visit. Food of high standard, menu -fresh variety of well presented beautifully cooked food with attentive staff in restaurant and bar. Easy parking. Walk in the grounds (need suitable footwear) - many spectacular trees, everyone's fascinated by the many peacocks. Seasonal decorations. You can walk, drive or borrow a bike to see surrounding area including picturesque, Tring with church, park, cafes, bookshops and the amazing zoological museum. There is also a small theatre in the grounds and maybe outdoor plays in the summer although we didn't see the programme of events.

In rural location -we didn't have any information about the hotel or area in our room and nothing available in reception but could look on my mobile. A small paper map of hotel grounds footpaths and key roads would have been useful.and plays, places of interest or exhibitions to visit. There was a canal nearby but we could find it.

Loved the restaurant and food, was really nice. The room was very comfortable and clean

The shower in the room wasn't working great, the water did not come from all aspects so wasn't an enjoyable shower. Also, once we had paid we were told the swimming pool had been closed and wouldn't be available until the following day if chlorine levels were right. As we were only there for one night I was quite disappointed as this is something we wanted to do. It also wasn't ready I believe by the time we were checking out at 11am, The bar was lovely, but as it was so quiet they closed at 10.30pm instead of 11pm as normal.

The room looked as though it had been recently renovated and was beautifully decorated - room 273. The bed/mattress was quite soft, but very comfortable for us. Bathroom was newly renovated as well and plenty of hot water. Buffet breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold items. All the staff were very friendly.

We stayed in the main manor house on the second floor above the reception. There isn't a lift in the hotel so we had a lot of stairs (48!) up to our room. It you have limited mobility, I would request a room on the lower floors. Breaktfast was included in our room rate so was great. Although a fantastic selection available - £22 for breakfast is rather expensive. If you want to then have a special item - like eggs benedict - there is an additional charge of £6.50 - making it £28.50.

A beautiful old building, lovely grounds and very comfortable. The staff were always very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent and a very good breakfast.

We had a small issue when settling our restaurant bill but this was dealt with very quickly. I would suggest that when checking in, and being asked if we want to set up a tab, or pay as we go, that it is pointed out that it includes the dining room. We didn't set up a tab and found ourselves having to go back to our room to get cards to pay for dinner. You should still be able to charge the restaurant bill to the room, this current arrangement is very unusual and not very helpful.

The accessible room was very big and comfortable. It was nice to have three comfortable chairs to choose from to sit in the room. The bathroom was spotless and, again, very big. Shower was powerful. Staff were very, very helpful and so welcoming. Food was top notch. The swimming pool was lovely.

We were allocated an accessible room. The bed was very small - I have mobility problems and move a lot during the night - the bed was a standard double - it would have been more comfortable to have a larger bed. There were very few surfaces to put any personal toiletries in the bathroom. A larger shelf that wasn't directly over the sink would have been useful. The fridge in the room was not working when we arrived so I couldn't store my medicines appropriately. However this was quickly rectified. Housekeeping was not completed until late in the afternoon on both of the days we stayed - it would have been more convenient for me if this had been done earlier in the day so I could rest in the afternoons. Having said all this, we had a lovely break.

The whole stay was excellent. The facilites were in keeping with a Manor House in its own grounds. The staff were outstanding, so helpful and kind. Breakfast whilst being a buffet was extensive and well stocked. Evening meal was enjoyable but a shame there wasn't specials so the same menu both nights. The drink prices were sensible.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. Whilst the peacock flock around the hotel were lovely you do need to be careful where you step at times! I had an unfortunate encounter! Would have appreciated having access to a EV charger at the property.

Staff friendly and very welcoming. Peacocks didn't disappoint and were amazing to see. The Manor entrance hall is extra special. Grounds were lovely with some amazing trees. Hotel felt calm even with the big wedding taking place on the first night of our stay. Family room we stayed in was a great size. Swimming pool was a bit on the small side but clean.

Breakfast was a little disappointing compared to the hotel and grounds. Bread selection was basic but there was the range of expected hotel breakfast buffet items hot and cold. Just not anything that made it feel extra special to match the room it was being served in but kept well stocked until the end of service.

Very friendly and thoughtful staff, who were kind towards our toddler. They had even set up a got in case we needed one. Lovely seeing the peacocks and the gardens are well kept and pretty. The good was enjoyable and the rooms clean. The chocolates on arrival were nice.

The breakfast was primarily buffet and quite acceptable in that respect. There were menu options, but it wasn't clear on the menu that these were an additional cost. We wanted something from there but the dining room was busy and after waiting with a fractious toddler for 20 mins the order was not even being cooked. They did let us cancel it, but it was disappointing when my husband had been looking forward to it and we'd not eaten what we would have from the buffet. The beds were a bit firm for me.
