Having read some reviews that it was a little tired, my expectations weren't high, but I was really pleasantly surprised. My room decor didn't feel tired at all! The building is beautiful, really charming. And I really enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi and steam room. Loved hearing the water feature in the courtyard. I thought it would keep me awake, but it lulled me to sleep. The whole atmosphere of the hotel and grounds was tranquil and I can genuinely say I came away refreshed! (And that's despite it being a really busy weekend with a wedding party etc.) I loved my stay, and I will definitely go back again. Thank you.

The bathroom vents were quite noisy - I wonder if there was some echo coming from other guests bathrooms? It would be nice to have lotion in the rooms. Also maybe a box of facial tissues?

I loved the grounds and the history of the building. It is so lovely. It is going through a renovation, so the room we stayed in was pleasant and tidy but had to remind ourselves it's an old building. The staff were absolutely wonderful. Nothing was ever a bother. So friendly and accommodating. We were so lucky with the weather. There was a wedding happening at the same time as our first night, so we were worried about noise, but it didn't bother us at all. Loved the cats who also live on the grounds. We will definitely be back.

When the rooms are redecorated this hotel will definitely jump up from being a 3star.

Plenty of free parking available which was good. The gym and spa facilities were great! The room was fairly spacious and bed was clean. Hot breakfast buffet was decent. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Overall, good value. I would recommend for short stays.

The room was quite dark. Better lighting would have been nicer. The shower in our bathroom was slightly faulty - the water temperature was fine, but we had some problems with the left tap not turning off properly. Also, the water kept splashing everywhere despite using the shower curtain. The rooms are not soundproof meaning you can hear what neighbouring rooms are doing.

Absolutely lovely staff in all areas of the hotel and spa. Some of the facilities are in need of renovation/refresh (eg. shower curtains, walls) but given the price point, this is 10/10. The breakfast was a buffet with nice options and fresh fruit. I heard another guest asking for different eggs and the staff were happy to make them specially for him. The grounds are really pretty, the beds comfy and it was lovely and quiet in our room 41. The swimming pool area was done in Grecian style which was really atmospheric and the jacuzzi was very warm and bubbly, just what you want! Lots of parking too.

The facilities, food and staff are brilliant. It’s also a quiet place to stay beautiful sorroundings. Breakfast was good and food in the bar was delicious😋😋.

The bedroom🫤it is sad to see that they just let the bedroom not renovated. Something small touch could do a better change the wall paper need doing cos the room we occupied wall paper started to come off if in every wall. The toilet tap was loose. Which is easy to be repaired and cleaning needs to be done properly. Cos cobweebs in the lampshade and behind the chair there’s a biscuit wrapper.

The unique situation in such stunning countryside. The friendly helpful staff. The spa & pool.. Breakfast was good, but a hotel in this class should be able to manage kippers or smoked haddock?

Having stayed here several times before, it was sad to see how decay & decline had been allowed. There are too many things to mention that need urgent attention. Some of these are a safety & or security risk. Please find the finance and means to do the upgrade needed as I would love to return.

breakfast was good , the location was beautiful, the swimming pool was lush.

a lot of very young staff members , who at times lacked common sense for minor things , although all of them was very polite. I found them irritating, because they lacked confidence which made me uncomfortable , also the bathroom door in our room would not lock and they never fixed it after complaining to them for the 2 days i was there, at one point i was also locked out of the bathroom and could not get in , something maintenence could have repaired quickly if they had applied themselves.

It was such a beautiful place, the grounds was so pretty and loved how big the area was, great car park, has a spa and swimming pool which we didn't manage to use. The bed rooms was big.. Staff was friendly

The bed rooms was lovely and big but very dated... Bathroom i would definitely say needed updated at toilets wasn't the best as didn't flush very well, breakfast wasn't worth it. As we walked to our room the stairs has a must smell but thankfully every where else was fine no smell. They had a lovely bar but it felt cold as in empty, no one there its like it needed something. Mattress was very uncomfortable.

The setting was beautiful. So picturesque. The food was stunning and breakfast was amazing with 10/10 for choice. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was very warm and relaxing.

Need to be informed that pool facilities are also used by public. We were turned away twice and asked to go back as pool was full. This was not expected and did leave us feeling frustrated. The bar is advertised as being open all day yet i stood by the bar waiting for a staff member to appear for more then 15 minutes. No one was around. This was about 4.30pm. The furniture in the room needed an update, Very worn and scratched. Room just needed an update.

Location is perfect for me - close to family and beautiful countryside, not far off m4. The setting is really beautiful including the gardens of the hotel- streams, wildlife- lovely ! Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom had great shower. Very peaceful. Swimming pool is a great bonus - nice and warm! Overall great value

some areas a bit tired and in need of a bit of maintenance- rotting window frames in bedroom,m Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Cheap sliced bread. Definitely more potential in this beautiful place but then I couldn’t afford it :)
