The value what You get for Your money is astronomical. A decent room, free parking space, free access to the gym & their lovely water facilities (pool, sauna and steam room), plus a generous and delicious breakfast every morning. On top of these 15% discount from the massages. And their room prices are VERY COMPETITIVE. The location is also perfect, 30 minutes by car from Cardiff, pretty much an hour or an hour and a half from many fascinating hiking attractions in the nearby National Park. The food is also remarkable, the only downside is sometimes the portions are not biggest in the restaurant.

The hotel was the perfect little getaway close enough to visit family. The facilities within hotel were great as the grounds were vast and had everything you needed such swimming on site and a lovely patio area for sitting out. Me, my partner and our baby stayed in the economy room and there was plenty of space for us and her travel cot (which is a fair size). The location is also perfect as Cwbran, Monmouth and Newport are all less than 30 mins away. So very easy if you drive. Food wise the menu is limited but the options leave something for everyone. With the continental options on the table. Will definitely be returning whenever we go down to visit family.

Larger than expected rooms with very comfortable, spacious beds. Amazing grounds - vast and absolutely beautiful. Wonderful swimming pool with murals, lovely relaxing dimmed lighting and a jacuzzi. All very atmospheric and possibly the best swimming pool I have been to for relaxation. Some reviewers had said that the hotel was in need of renovation, but we didn't experience this. It is not a new building, but it was perfectly clean, did not smell damp or musty, was not in need of redecoration as far as we could see, and everything worked as it should. It was also pleasantly quiet.

There were no printed instructions in the room. Instead we were asked to look online using a bar code. Not good for oldies like us. The breakfast options (on a help yourself basis) were quite limited compared to many large hotels I have stayed at. No Marmite! I can't remember if there was porridge or muesli, but I don't think so. I can't remember much fruit either.

We had an economy room which was excellent value. Spacious room and bathroom which exceeded what we expected. It was in the annexe which was quiet and we could park outside. Only small problem was a dip in the floor in front of the toilet which your ankle could go down. New flooring so wonder why it wasn't filled underneath then. Breakfast was lovely, anything you wanted you only had to ask. The staff were dressed smartly and were all helpful and friendly without exception. The pool was lovely and was great that they had children's swimming time which you could avoid if you so wished. Jacuzzi was good with option for turning on bubbles or not. We didn't use the sauna or spa facilities but would on another occasion. We initially booked for 2 nights as reviews were not brilliant and then as we were so happy we booked a further 2 nights at reception. Yes, you had to walk outside in the rain to get to breakfast and pool but if you take an umbrella with you then not a problem! We didn't have dinner there. We will return soon.

This was my second week at this hotel and i was in the main building this time. The room was a lot more suitable for one person, still a good size but not as large as the room i had in the grey cottage. Breakfast was good apart from the one morning there was a hot buffet as opposed to cook to order. The dinners were not as good as the previous week which makes me think it was a different chef I have to say that the lady on reception in the evenings was very very lovely. Possibly one of the nicest receptionists i have had the pleasure to meet

The buffet breakfast was not great. The lighting in the room is a little odd, Lamps, and although the one ceiling light had 2 switches you could only turn it on or off from the same switch so if i turned it on by the door, i could not turn it off from the bed. The doors were very heavy and room 20 does not self close, so i spent one night with the door not fully shut.

Very large room, almost too large for a single person. Pool facilities good, gym looked good but i did not use it. The grounds are lovely. The food and service were excellent, small but interesting menu, and very good size portions.

I was in one of the cottages and the heating was playing up, however the hotel overly compensated me for my discomfort, which I thought was very decent of them. The rooms are nice, but my very large room did have a few cobwebs. My two biggest complaints are very minor, not very bright lighting in the main room, so i had to move lamps around so that i could work at the desk. No shelf in the shower for items to go on, so they have to sit on the floor of the shower which is inconvenient, one small shelf in the bathroom which was not enough space to put all my bits n bobs on especially as i had to do my make up in there as the lighting in the bedroom was so poor, but these are

When my partner and I checked in we were told we had been upgraded, which was a lovely surprise. The food was great and fair prices too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back as we fell I'm love with the place. We have 5 children between us, it was our 1st break away together in almost 3 years and it was so relaxing. The pool and more was lush and relaxing too. We loved it that much we want to go back again. Thank you to all the staff for giving us a pleasant staycation.

Spa was good, but a pool did not work.

A swimming pool has not worked. My meal in a restaurant ( curry) was nothing ( not tasty), it was very bad communication with the hotel reception while booking ( they do not want to answer questions and when they would answer at last it was not the answer for the question....

Location and grounds are beautiful. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam Room was amazing. Very well decorated if you want to relax. Reception team facilitated a move to a super room which was vastly better than the original room.

First room was placed in, aerial socket that was no longer used was hanging off the wall. There was holes and missing paintwork in the room. The bathrobe was given had a stain on it. Room was next to a fire exit which other people used to smoke and filled the hallway with the smell of smoke. I am a smoker myself but still would have the decency to smoke away from the building. On the plus side, staff facilitated a move.

The hotel was lovely and the spa and pool were great. I would say that the decor in our room was a little shabby and could do with updating. The furniture was also quite old, apart from the bed, which was very comfy. Also the TV was at an awkward angle to the bed which made viewing a little uncomfortable.
