We had a very nice, comfortable and spacious room with patio area and table and chairs in the garden. A bottle of water and some lovely welsh cakes were included as well as the usual tea and coffee. There was a lovely walk in shower with a non slip base which we appreciated as my husband has mobility difficulties Food in the restaurant was also very good. We'll stay again the next time we are in the area.

I don't suppose there is much that can be done without major strucural alterations but the floor above creaked and it sounded as if the people in the room above were giants.

Everything was immaculately clean, beds were comfortable, there was everything for our needs i.e. hand and shower soap, water in room together with tea, coffee, biscuits and welsh cakes. Plenty of storage space, but we were only staying for one night, and a TV that actually worked for the news etc. The restaurant and bar areas are well furnished and the food is excellent.

There was nothing that we didn't like. We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times, together with their sister hotel in the centre of Usk. Whilst initially apprehensive about road noise st The Greyhound, it was not an issue, just a rumble which did not bother us. The rooms are well sound-proofed.

The location of the property was too far away from Usk itself to walk into Usk would have been over an hour & an hour to walk back to the accommodation couldn’t get a taxi & was informed by staff taxi service was very poor in that area the food was superb a little pricey but we had no choice but to eat there as there wasn’t anywhere else to eat within walking distance the breakfast was superb with plenty of choice & cooked fresh to order & was plentiful

The food was pricey & the cost of drinks was pricey & the accommodation was too far away from Usk & local attractions had to be reached by car as it wouldn’t have been accessible on foot

Lovely stay at the Greyhound Inn & Hotel. It is a little out of the way (Newport is around a 25 minute drive which has a direct train to Cardiff that takes around 15 minutes). Lots of parking at the Inn. Great pub and lots of people who were not guests were at the pub late afternoon when we arrived. Staff are very friendly. The accommodation is in a lovely historic building that is separate to the pub/restaurant. The room was basic but with plenty of storage, a big dresser and a couple of chairs. Nice to have teas, bottled water and biscuits provided. Nice clean linen and towels. Multiple choices at breakfast with fresh coffee and juices. We only stayed one night but would have been happy to stay on for longer - thank you for having us!

Bathroom sink and shower could have been cleaned a little better but that's just being fussy, the room itself was fresh and clean.

We had a wonderful welcome from Kelly who attended to our every need with warmth, care and cheer. All the staff were lovely, helpful, friendly and polite and they all went above and beyond to make our stay very happy and comfortable. The food was delicious, the drinks were kept and served just right and our accommodation was superb. The gardens, too were beautiful and so well kept. We loved all the little special touches which made The Greyhound unique and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much, Kelly and team

Having to say goodbye.

Lovely traditional pub restaurant and hotel near Usk. It is very dog friendly and well maintained. We stayed at a ground floor room with access to the garden. The room itself was spacious with everything you need including dog blanket, bowl and biscuits. It also had a clean bathroom with a nice shower. We were impressed by the breakfast choices in the morning and that includes our dog which was allowed in and had a complementary dog sausage.

The only thing that stops me from giving a full 10 score is that there a busy and noisy main road near by. It calms down in the evening through so it does not affect the sleep.

Lovely country pub with accommodation in a separate building. Lovely big room with a modern bathroom (room 6). We had dinner in the restaurant on our first evening. There was plenty of choice, and the food was well presented and very tasty. Both mornings, we had breakfast. The full English and vegetarian were fabulous. The fruit & yoghurt was a nice change for me on the second morning. The staff....well. Can't really say enough good comments! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. They are a credit to you 😃. We will definitely be back when the hockey resumes next season, and we will be bringing our friends too. 🖤💛

TV could be a bit bigger in room 6. We struggled a little 😄

Our second lovely stay here - well equipped comfortable room and patio space with table and chairs . Perfect accommodation if you are travelling with a dog - easy access outside and dog bed and treats provided. (Also human treats - lovely Welsh cakes!) The dog paddock is wonderful and the doggy sausage at breakfast was very much appreciated. Also perfect if you are travelling without a dog! Really good facilities, comfortable large bed and the food at the Greyhound Inn is very good. We will be back.

There is nothing we didn't like

Everything was wonderful. We held a wedding party there after getting married at Usk registry office (24 people) and the team couldn't have done more. It was a really fun party and everyone had a great time. It was relaxed, fun and the food was outstanding (Great steaks beautifully cooked and brilliant choice for Vegetarians) so exactly what we wanted. We had a room to ourselves and it was a wonderful day. We stayed for a couple of nights in the rooms and they have really comfy beds and all the facilities you need. Loved the Welsh cakes. All our guests were really happy. My Dad's dog was well catered for and welcomed with open arms as well rather than just being allowed to stay/tolerated as he often is in other places. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. We've also been here for other meals and it's a absolute Gem of a place with brilliant staff and owners. We live about 40 mins away but I wish we lived closer so we could make it our local!

Nothing to not like

A proper country pub, made to feel very welcome excellent food and beer. Very handy for fishing on the River Usk. Comfortable accommodation and plenty of parking. Happened to be there when there was live music. Kelly and her team (sporting dungarees and caps) are really on the ball.

Some road noise from the A449 but I had the secondary glazed windows open because the weather was so beautiful so hard to complain.
