Location was perfect. Great choice of items for breakfast and perfectly cooked. Staff were pleasant. Room itself was clean, tidy and clutter free. Heating was easy to use. Clean towels everyday and room refreshments (tea and coffee) replenished daily.

Toilet in ensuite was dirty on arrival. Window was draughty. Extractor fan didn't work in the ensuite, neither did the shaver socket. Shower door could have done with a seal on the bottom to prevent water escaping onto the floor. No complimentary biscuits to go with the tea and coffee.

It was more luxurious than I needed, really. Friendly personnel, clean bathroom, good bed, breakfast was good but could use a few more items. Walking distance to railway stations (10 minutes to Westgate, 15 to Kirkgate).

In the weekend, you need to reserve a time slot for breakfast, and they asked this at check-in time; it would have been nice if this had been communicated in advance since I arrived late and was tired, but now had to look up and calculate my schedule for the next day on the spot (instead of doing that leisurely in my room). Luckily, they were quite flexible about this. Some minor things: on the second day, the room was not cleaned up; maybe this was supposed to happen but I didn't know. The walking space between the chairs in the breakfast room was very small.

From walking in the door to leaving, the staff were very friendly and very helpful to suit our needs, breakfast was great, lots to choose from and I noticed that they had a paper bag, so if you wanted to, you could grab something to eat later.

The only thing I would say is the double bed does make you roll into the middle, I have a queen sized bed at home, and my husband and I have different postcodes when in our bed!!! So to be laying on each other, could be a good thing or as I'm like a hot water bottle we were very hot! It's not a complaint it's just something we're not used too. Also the sat nav from the actual website took us to a building one road before the holiday inn, so we did have to drive around to find hotel, and we did have 3 different sat navs going and they all said the same!

The hotel is centrally located in Wakefield so walking distance from the train station and the city centre. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and have everything you need for your stay. Tea and coffee provided in the room. The breakfast had a nice selection of food. The main highlight was the staff, they went above and beyond to answer any questions and help us out. And they were very friendly, they made the stay fantastic, so thank you to all the staff.

Nothing really jumped out as being bad, its a basic hotel but that's not a negative, its what we paid for, had a lovely stay.

Room and bathroom were a good size and there was a fridge. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was substantial and location was a few mins walk from the main shopping area. We managed to get the last space in the car park but if it had been full the multi storey car park is literally across the road. Although our room was close to the lift and over the main entrance, it was quiet

We booked a standard room and specified a twin, on Booking.com. We were given a double and were told that you are only guaranteed a twin when you book through the Holiday Inn group. We were lucky because they moved us to a room with a double bed and a sofa bed. The space to hang your clothes was awkward to utilise but that is minor inconvenience and a design fault. Lighting in bedroom was a bit too dim.

Staff are always welcoming and friendly, had a nice room with a great view over the city. Breakfast was lovely, self serve continental and hot breakfast available. Coffee was also quite nice, considering it was a machine.

Only issue I had was with other guests, one person was either smoking on my floor or had just gone for a cigarette but it stank. Also a guest had opened their bedroom door and was allowing their toddler to run up and down the hallway at 7am. Not the hotels fault but it did impact the quality of my stay.

Really comfortable bed in a spacious room - I had a great night sleep. Great bathroom with a clean and modern finish. The shower was also very roomy and easy to use. Really liked the hair, hand and body wash dispensers too. The thermostat was easy to use and I found that the room retained it's heat well. The included breakfast may be a basic but it was all hot and there was plenty of it.

There was a bit of an unpleasant smell coming from the shower drain and rubbish bin area. Only got a whiff when in the immediate vicinity of them though so wasn't too offensive. An oversight on my part but I didn't realise parking spaces were so limited, especially on a weekend, so make sure you have a backup option. Thankfully I was allowed to park in a staff parking spot this time.

Very helpful, professional and informative staff on reception. Room was as expected and does the job very well. Bed was large, clean and comfy. Bathroom was large, clean, very functional and I liked the quality of the provided soaps/shampoos. Climate control was very useful, but could do with a guide or set of instructions. Breakfast is a buffet with a large variety of options and was delicious!

There seems to be only 1 small lift, might be an issue during peak times or for larger groups. Room had some unclean areas e.g. dusty, fluff, stains and debris in some areas, but the bed and bathroom were spotless. Room was a little small/narrow in some areas e.g. near the front of the bed.

Room was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. Breakfast was nice with options of cereal, croissants and "build your own bap" items such as bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, hash browns etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'd forgotten my toothbrush and they kindly gave me a dental kit.

Location is central Wakefield and there was some disruption to my sleep around 4am by a drunken individual outside shouting but this is outside the hotel's control. They do offer earplugs.

Room was great with a good view, very clean and well presented. The bed was clean and very comfortable. The staff were fab; Mohamed on the front desk especially. Breakfast was very good; great range and choice; staff attentive. The location was great; right in the centre of town and within easy reach of everything.

The only down point was the evening meal; the soup starter was half a tin of Heinz tomato soup with some over grilled garlic bread and the only choice of desert was a small tub of ice cream. But overall, I was very happy with everything else.
