Arrived a couple of hours early, so expected to have to get a coffee and wait til 3pm in the bar. However, the lovely lady on reception checked with housekeeping and I was able to check in straight away. The room was lovely. Spotlessly clean and very spacious. It was incredibly warm aswell, so much so, I had to turn the heating down. The bathroom was well equipped with lovely toiletries and a large shower area. The bed was comfy with a choice of pillows on the bed. I was worried I would hear the M1 traffic but it was surprisingly quiet. Breakfast was buffet style and "eat as much as you want". It was very tasty indeed and cooked to perfection. Its not much to look at from the outside to be honest, but inside, its really very nice. All the staff were lovely and friendly and I really enjoyed my stay.

I thought the mirror area opposite the wardrobe was the best place to do hair/make up as the lighting was great there. But there was no where to put items like brushes, make up cases...so everything just went on the bed and I was worried about getting marks on the bedding. Maybe a fold down shelf would be an idea so things could put on there whilst using it then folded up when not.

Food on the first night was poor, and couldn’t be eaten - most disappointing. However, the staff were really understanding and frankly lovely. Risked the food on my second night, which was perfectly fine, as was my meal on the final night. I’m convinced that what happened food-wise on my first night was not the norm - we all have a bad day from time to time. My real take-away from my visit here was the warmth and genuineness of the staff I encountered. I will happily recommend staying here and look forward to my next visit.

Our room was very good and the general bar/lounge/restaurant areas are now bright and spacious following extensive refurbishment since our last visit. The 3-course dinner was excellent as was breakfast. The dinner, bed and breakfast package which we took offered fantastic value for money.

We had a minor problem with our room which was quickly resolved by Reception and it would have been better if the bar had stocked a better range of zero alcohol beers including a draft 0% lager offering. You can only drink so much Pepsi Max!

Absolutely amazing all the staff are brilliant ,they all make you feel like royalty,the food is simple but cooked to perfection ,I’m in catering and to be totally honest couldn’t in anyway do any better I’m just in ore how they can produce this excellent quality on a daily basis,well done and you certainly put the rest of us to shame can’t thank you enough and hope everything able to see you for Christmas

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. The location was very convenient and very close to major motorways (M1 and M62). Overall I think this hotel is great value for money.

The breakfast was OK but a bit dry. It tasted like it had been standing under warming lights for a couple of hours probably because the time of breakfast was too early (6.30-9,30 am).

All the receptionist were very polite and professional especially Rachael, They presented a atmosphere that nothing was too much trouble, The Housekeepers were very polite and very officiant Evening meal was very good and fairly priced. Breakfast staff were outstanding 10/10 for the Chef's Breakfast was one of the best we have had from hotels we have stayed in. could not fault anything. Bed so comfortable, Shower was hot and powerful all toiletries supplied a bonus, TV plenty of channels, nice size Tv for the room. Tea coffee supplied. Room well thought.

The only thing was there was a wedding reception and all we could here was the loud base but come 9pm all stopped so this was not a negative after all. and went on to enjoy the chill night we had planned, and we hope the married couple all the best.

As seasoned travellers who do overnight stays very often we are generally a bit disappointed with lack lustre performance by most hotels. However we were made welcome by all staff, the room was excellent and breakfast the next morning was excellent too. All staff were happy to help and are a credit to the organisation. This Holiday Inn should set the standard for all other Holiday Inns and hotels generally. A very well done to everyone 👏

Location was convenient. Lots of parking. Dog friendly.

No rear entrance from the car park, no pavement to the entrance. Function room was in full swing, floor was vibrating. The guests from the function has their buffet in another room causing them to block the corridor. So loud in the function suite that the guests filled the bar area to be able to talk. No link from dining area till too reception so the food was not on the bill. Breakfast was separate and expensive for what it was. It was also quite poor quality and limited options. Evening meal was expensive. One member of staff covering restaurant and bar so service was quite slow (not her fault). She has no idea what an Irish coffee was - lacking Training.

Great location, very helpful staff and a very pleasant environment. Lovely bar / dining area and our room was very spacious. Had air conditioning which we could control ourselves and, as it was a particularly hot few days, was a big plus.

Nothing. A small fridge in the room would have been a bonus but that’s just being picky.

Everything was better than we expected. Lovely inviting decor, rooms, and the best breakfast we've had at a holiday Inn.

The only thing that spoilt it , was my partner had to wait around 25 minutes to get served at the bar . It was a Saturday night , but no one else was waiting . It seemed the staff had disappeared,weather on a break it still was left unmanned.. Also , the drinks were pricey, I know this is more expected from a hotel, but £3.60 for half of magners cider. ?
