Windermere Manor Hotel is such a beautiful building to look at, and the surrounding gardens are very nice to sit in and read a book. I forst noticed how peaceful the place is, just listening to the sounds of nature. The hotel restaurant is split into 4 sections, a bar area, lounge, conservatory, and chapel, food was very nice, and reasonably priced, and staff very friendly. Hotel is located close to Bowness and Windermere Village, if you like going for walks there's local hiking trails, and Orrest Head view point is 30 mins away by walking. Swimming pool was a bonus, was expecting it to be busy however had the pool all to myself on my first morning. Would definitely stay again.
Shower pressure wasn't at its best, and hot water sometimes took awhile to heat up.

Dog friendly and lovely gardens and easy to get to the ferry to visit Beatrice potters House at Hill top .The hotel also had a swimming pool .The food was nice as we're the staff.A beautifull building also .
Room 11 and 14 water pressure is known to be poor due to being furthest away from the hot water pump .Unfortunatly we were in room 14 and the hot water was almost none existing so had to let it run for a very long time before anything came through .We were woken up at 2.45 am with noisy people in the corridor outside our door coughing and what sounded like them being sick so they must have been out drinking to much .

The hotel was lovely, set in a lovely grounds not far from the Lake. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was a good size for a family. The food in the restaurant was really nice and good value for money. The pool was also a nice bonus and a nice clean area.
The cleanliness in the room was not great, particularly the bathroom, there were a lot of stray hairs knocking around which was a bit off putting. WiFi in the room was also not great. Also we had audio subtitles in our tv which we could not turn off, staff were also unable to help, so this was a bit annoying as we couldn’t watch tv.

Set in a great location 15 minute walk to the high Street with great pubs and shops and 5 minute drive to bowness , great views of lake windemere from the hotel grounds. staff were exceptional very helpful and welcoming.especially one young lady but unfortunately can not remember her name rooms very clean with tea coffee and a kettle,. Ironing board, iron, hairdryer t.v. there is a little enclosed pen at the back for your pet to roam free. And very pet friendly Rooms a decent size with shower over the bath. some people say the hotel is outdated I like to think of it as authentic as I like the manor vibe if you don't like victorian style decor your best going to stay in a Premier Inn. breakfast is help yourself between 8-10am with sausage bacon eggs beans hash browns toast there is a selection of cereals and pastries and tea coffee fresh juice I would definitely stay here again

The staff were friendly and professional at all times. The breakfast buffet was excellent and always topped up so I never had to ask for anything. I had dinner the 1st and 2nd night and both meals were great, homemade fish pie on my 1st night was fantastic and the steak pie on the 2nd night was fantastic too. I used to until a few years ago work in the hospitality industry and have worked at many different hotels in Restaurant management ,Bar management and as a Duty manager. What I'm trying to say is I couldn't fault any of the staff or how the hotel is run and I will definitely come back and stay here in the future.
The only thing I had a grumble with was on the Saturday and Sunday morning there was no coffee beans in the machine so had to settle for instant coffee but having worked in the industry I know sometimes there are supplie issues.

The staff were friendly and polite, the hotel sits in it's own grounds which are looked after by the gardeners, the breakfasts are amazing and plenty of it. The building has history and been used for various companies over the years. Plenty of free parking and CCTV monitored. The night staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble, selection of drinks at the bar, the swimming pool is half size but clean and warm with lots of clean towels available. We were in room 19 which was very hot (possibly above the kitchen) a fan was provided. Beds are clean and comfortable and room service was daily. Ensuite was clean but looking a bit dated. Tea, coffee, milk and kettle provided plus hair dryer and ironing board.
The inconsiderate dog owners. Dogs are allowed in all areas but not the carpeted dining room or swimming pool. However some customers thought they were exempt and allowed their dogs to be fed the sausages and bacon from the breakfast bar while drooling and barking. Off putting to say the least trying to eat while a large dogs backside is staring back at you and mouth drooling. Also book direct, we paid the extra £30 cancellation fee which has a large exceptions lists, waste of money.

All of the staff were wonderful, you could tell they all cared. The hotel is a beautiful old house with beautiful gardens and a great view of the nearby hills! I loved all the Christmas decorations! Our room was huge, plenty space for the kids to run off some steam and they loved the bunkbeds. The bathroom was modern with a great shower and a handy mirror light. It was easy to make the room warm too. The breakfast was delicious! They have a fancy coffee machine and lots of tea options. The pastries were fresh and the cooked breakfast options were yummy. We had dinner in the evening, the kids loved their chicken tenders.
The meal took quite a while to come out, but it was early so we didn’t mind. The actual burger patty could have been better, but the meal was fine.

Beautiful manor house, we were upgraded on arrival which was a lovely surprise as we were celebrating our silver anniversary. The rooms were very spacious just slightly dirty on the bathroom sink (hairs from a shave) and on the window sill however this never spoiled a thing as easily cleaned. Very comfortable beds, huge bathroom bath and shower and little extras too such as chocolates and robes. There's also a nice size pool which was a nice surprise to boot. The breakfast was the best we tasted, the food was beautiful and nicely priced including the beers. The staff are amazing only a few on shift (2 girls and kitchen staff) yet they managed and never missed a beat. The view is to die for and back to the olden days proper village life and a few minutes down the road are the lakes with their breathtaking views.
Nothing, this was the most special event for my husband and I and I'm glad we spent it at the manor.

Lovely building in a good position, staff helpful. Breakfast everything you would expect, dining a bit limited and around £35/£40 for 2 including a drink. Ambleside and Bowness overcrowded to the point of being uncomfortable in peak (1st week in August) with full car parks and long queues in and out attempted to visit both for some minor shopping but regretted going. On reflection the 34 minute walk to Bowness would have been easier and more efficient than the "5 minute" drive which we did and because of no parking spent the same time coming back without actually stopping.
We were in the middle of a heatwave with extreme heat over night and no way of cooling at the top of the hotel and rear facing the windows were open the whole time and a low hum from the what sounded like the pump room for the pool woke us up every morning around six.

This is a beautiful hotel and staff were attentive and friendly. It was a luxury to have a clean, well kept small pool to dip in after a long journey. I had felt anxious about getting parked on site but that worked out okay for me, thank goodness. I was also able to get a healthy, tasty plant based meal after 8 pm and it was reassuring to know some items were available 24/7, as I'd been unsure when I would arrive. This is an older manor, meaning steps and such low pressure in the shower that if I raised the shower hear to just about 5 ft 2 (I am a shorter guest!), the water flow completely stopped. Taller folk might struggle with that, at least in the room I was given. I'd booked a single but got a nice, quiet double room, so I've no complaints One member of staff 'prowled' a bit, which I did find a little off-putting over dinner and breakfast, but to be fair they were so helpful, including to a visually impaired man who arrived, that I decided we 'got on' okay! The hotel allows dogs, so I had breakfast stuck between such wonderful cuteness - a great start to the day. On-site parking limitations might make me think twice but apart from that, I'd love to stay there again and I thought it was good value for money. I enjoyed my stay.
Parking limitations caused me to worry about getting parked on-site before I arrived, though I did get parked. The shower only ran if the shower head was low - shoulder level on me (5 ft 2)
