Cooked breakfast Ability to park Bright bathroom despite no window & ability to turn off the fan for nighttime use Large twin room - high ceiling & full size single beds Views over the crag Within easy walking distance of town Garage (with newspapers) close by Good location from which to visit NT Wray, NT Sizergh, NT Hill Top (Beatrix Potter),Grasmere & Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage.

Sometimes a little tricky to be understood (language) Hard parking sideways on a slope (but super grateful for parking to be avail) Bedroom lights not the best light intensity for reading by - especially when working at the desk.

Our stay at the townhouse was absolutely delightful! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The charming room was impeccably clean and comfortable, with cozy furnishings and thoughtful touches, with an outstanding view of Ambleside and the mountains. The breakfast was simply outstanding, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a variety of delicious options. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. We can't wait to return

In the room we had the sink was in the room not the bathroom which was a tad awkward especially if you're using the bathroom in the early hours but this was minor when the room offered so much with a the view to make up for it

Very smart, modern and clean, with a good sized, comfortable room. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and provided a very efficient service. I loved all of the options for breakfast - the food was delicious too! The location was excellent, with plenty of places to visit in the surrounding areas. Very handy to have a place to park too, as free public parking was a struggle to find. Would definitely like to return!

It would have been great to get a room on the upper floor as requested, but I’m guessing there weren’t any available at the time we booked. We were near the reception, so could quite often hear people going up and down the stairs and talking in the hallway.

The location is fabulous. A two minute walk from the centre of Ambleside making access to shops, pubs and restaurants very easy. Private, free car parking on site so if you're on a walking break you never need to touch the car. The surrounding fells are all within walking distance. All the staff are exceptionally friendly and professional, the rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable and breakfast is beautiful with plenty to choose from.

There's nothing to dislike.

Pam was lovely at breakfast. The breakfast was super. The night guy was great and let us in when we had left our room key. Location was perfect. It was very clean.

We were in room 14 and thought the room and bathroom were on the small side considering it was a deluxe. The main door into this side building was right by our room so heard everyone coming and going. There was no bathmat provided for the shower. Bathroom could have done with some extra space for toiletry bags. Bed could have been bigger.

Central, clean & comfortable in traditional Lake District slate property. Stunning views - we had room 1 with windows on 3 sides. Plenty of hot water & good quality bedding on beds. Slept well - quiet room. Friendly staff. U book a breakfast time & menu option, so no waiting around for a table. Handy to have free parking as Ambleside car parks are expensive & busy.

Parking is on a very steep slope at an angle with stone walls either side, so a bit difficult to manoeuvre. If your car is long there are 3 or 4 spaces on flat area at bottom which are bigger, but someone had parked a mini there.

Good location, lovely cozy interior that brings a sense of ease and good size rooms.

The location of our room was too near the main entrance and breakfast area meaning that from early on we were woken up by loud banging of the door resulting in us having poor quality of sleep despite the beds being very comfy. A part from that everything else was superb!

It was clean. Excellent breakfast and staff catered to our needs. Good instruction to change towels if needed and towels were changed when we followed the instructions daily.

The parking is very tight and limited. It was cold in the night as there were no heating in night time during out stay. The bathroom was spacious but not 100% clean. We even had a ‘clean’ towel with a strand of red hair (no red hair in our family).

Very friendly staff and nicely presented hotel with lots of original features. The view from the bedroom was great, with elevated views of the town to the fells beyond, enjoyed from the chairs in front of the bay window. Bed was comfortable and the room was warm. Good choice of breakfast, cooked to order. Nice fresh coffee and self service pantries and toast.

Bathroom was a bit tight for space, as was the car park, but these are very minor gripes against the overall enjoyable experience of the property.

Lovely, spacious rooms with really tasteful furnishings. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great view from our window. Breakfast was also delicious, with a decent selection to choose from. Overall, a really nice stay and would definitely recommend.

Bathroom a bit small but expected for a property of that age. The coffee at breakfast was weak, however these are all minor gripes.
