We loved our time here. The hotel is well positioned with stunning hill views and short walk from the lake and the restaurants. The staff is incredibly helpful and nice and made our stay extra special. The restaurant and lounge areas have beautiful views and calm atmosphere, so you can slow down and really enjoy your time. The breakfast had plenty of options and the servers were polite and accommodating. The hotel is well maintained, clean and a good mix od modern and traditional. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with lovely personal touches. It is well worth spending a bit more and upgrading to the occasion rooms and rooms with a view as those are simply stunning and make the experience extra special. Absolutely worth it!

Everything was fantastic!

Interior decor very beautiful and tasteful, staff rather nice, views are amazing, very clean hotel and bedrooms have decorated to high standard, comfortable well equipped with spacious, modern en-suites shower bathroom. Most of all I loved the lobby and breakfast areas, where they serve a good quality, made to order breakfast. Swimming pool was clean but not warm enough, sauna was ok. Sitting by the the lobby windows and real log fires was my favourite part.

Swimming pool was too cold. Hotel could do with beauty and massage treatments and ideally if steam sauna is fixed too. Dry Sauna could have been warmer.

The hotel was in the middle of all the locations we wanted to visit, it was beside and walking distance from the busy Bowness for boat trips, boat hire, restaurants to suit everyone and on the doorstep of the most popular walking tours and routes to other beautiful villages Its proximity to everything . The warmth of our welcome, the comfortable well appointed rooms, serviced daily, the restaurant offered a varied and very tasty menu but above all this the gem of this hotel is its staff. Firstly Louise and claire were extremely busy but never failed to smile , be courteous,and professional in the delivery of their service. Must be recognised for this. The team as a whole were amazing. I cannot praise them all enough and hope to return another time

Only one thing annoyed us and that was the lack of signage at the entry, possibly a council requirement?, but it’s difficult if not used to it. We drove past the entrance several times expecting to see a billboard as the norm

The hotel was very cosy and had a really relaxing vibe, and the log fire was lovely! The restaurant service was very good, and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were very helpful, and the location was not very far from the town centre. The rooms were very spacious and the beds were like sleeping on clouds. The facilities were kept very clean and we loved the sauna and taking a dip in the pool.

The service was amazing they were very attentive. At times, some staff were running around and were rushed which rubbed off on our experience. We understand that serving is fast paced but it made us a little uncomfortable, we don't mind waiting for food or drinks it's all a part of the experience.

Booked this last minute and we were pleasantly surprised with the deal we got. Our room was standard, quite small but we paid for the standard option and it had all the amenities we needed. Towels provided for the pool too. Location was wonderful due to its wonderful views even in a rainy day. The seating rooms were inviting with a light space and tastefully decorated. Breakfast had a good selection and tasted delicious. The staff at dining were very courteous and hardworking. Most importantly, Laurette in reception was such a lovely women, welcoming, polite, conscientious, informative. She communicated well, was very responsive and would go out of her way to help with bookings and ensure we had a wonderful stay. Thankyou!

The slight downrating was the location of our room being opposite a public toilet and I think a storage cupboard for cleaners as we were woken up early both days due to this and could very easily hear passers by to the front and back of our room. Also, unfortunately the steam room was out for us that weekend. It would be more relaxing if either the parking was blocked in front of the swimming area or there was some screening on the windows. 2 loungers could also benefit the pool area.

One of the party's room was upgraded and proved to be invaluable for the elderly member of the party. She be able to sit comfortably in the privacy of the room. The original cosy room on the ground floor was tiny and the bed was a little uncomfortable. We had requested the ground floor room for this elderly person and it would have met most of her needs but she could not have stayed in the room to read. The sitting rooms were amazing with views and other materials like games and books. The staff were so attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent.

the cosy room was too small, no where to really sit. The mattress made you roll to the edge on what was an already smaller bed.

The hotel is beautifully positioned and the views are spectacular. The décor is a mix of traditional and modern style and spotless. The hotel is only a twenty minute walk away from Bowness. Five minute walk to the bus stop which takes you to Windermere or again around twenty minute walk. The staff were lovely from restaurant staff, to the receptionists and everyone in between. I have to make a special mention to Jackie and Lauretta (reception) they were lovely, welcoming and gave the hotel a family atmosphere. They went out of there way to answer any questions or queries that we might have had. (Thankyou)

The property was great , but last night had dinner at the restaurant and our experience was quite mixed. The main course was great and met our expectations. However, the starter was a major disappointment. The bread was not only unchewable but also soggy. We reported this issue, but the staff did not apologize and still charged us for the starter that we couldn’t eat. This morning, we ordered scrambled eggs for breakfast . Unfortunately, my wife found egg shells in her food, which scratched her gums. We chose not to report this issue due to the previous night’s experience, where they seemed unreceptive to any feedback.

Went to stay over for a night as I had gone to attend a conference. The location is beautiful, although it's not adjacent to the lakes (the prices would also be accordingly then) but the lake is visible from a distance outside the hotel. I would love to have gone for a walk had it not been for the conference. The room and washroom was very clean and tidy. They had provided desk fan, hair dryer, iron, iron board, complimentary tea/coffee/milk. The internet wifi was free for the residents. The bed and pillows were very comfy. I had booked my 8 am slot for breakfast where I was greeted by very hospitable staff who took my order and served a very delicious hot breakfast. I would love to stay over with my family one day (very soon). It also has free onsite parking.
