Wonderful luxurious hotel with an extraordinary garden and spectacular views onto Lake Windermere. Great staff, very friendly and always helpful. Your holiday begins at the first minute after arrival, a very relaxing atmosphere, the garden is an attraction on its own with beautiful spots for sitting to enjoy the view or relax at a little tarn. A lot of wonderful birdsong and animals to be watched. The bar and conversatory is phantastic, stylish and bright with great drinks. Our luxurious room was quite spacy with very comfy beds and a big window to the garden. Other rooms do have small windows only. The bath room was very clean, but not spotless. EV charging is run by the hotel and very convenient and easy, moderated by competent staff. The best we have ever seen at a hotel. Great location: A golf course or outdoor dining is just minutes away.
The breakfast was great, but the Sunday roast at the Henrock restaurant was a bit of an disappointment. The roast wasn't as tender as expected and also the flavours of the high quality food weren't as exquisite as you would expect for a restaurant with Michelin star chef in its name. The warm food was also not as hot as expected. If the breakfast or the bar is crowded, you can wait a very long time for your food. Try to use less busy times for that. The staff is running and doing a great job, but the kitchen seems to be understaffed for these occasions. We were quite lucky with our neighbours, but you can tell that noise travels easy in that old building.

The setting, the grounds, the art works and the team.
Total lack of drawer space in the bedroom…had to live out of the suitcase. The dinner in the Conservatory was very good. The dinner in Henrock was good in parts !!

The location was almost flawless. Like being in a novel the selection of art on the walls inside and the fairy tail statuary outside blended with the views over the lake. Afternoon tea in the conservatory provided happy emotions. And my adventures in the town nearby and long walks around the neighboring hills were very memorable. The dinning experience at Henrock was excellent as the chef and the trained staff are world class.
The room was slightly on the small side. This was more evident in the bathroom and shower accessibility as well as the size of the wardrobe. However the large bed provided the best sleep I had in the last 10 days traveling in the UK.

The location and particularly the garden are superb. The conservatory/bar are beautiful places to sit and relax The breakfast (both food and the relaxing atmosphere are a really nice way to start a day
Our room was pretty small. I don’t understand why, when you want a coffee in the afternoon that they do not serve any form of biscuit or cakes. Unless you have booked for afternoon tea - a bit weird really and a little off putting . The hotel is also a bit strange in their booking systems. All very formal - as a guest you would think you could just sit and have coffee or a light lunch - have you booked sir ?

The Linthwaite House Hotel experience is a must have at least once in a life time. The hotel’s location is superb, the cleanliness level is beyond words, the staff are SUPER HELPFUL and friendly. Jasmine was the cherry on top, the solution oriented and who would never fail to put a smile on your face. Marco saved us by sending hotel’s car to pick us when we got trapped in heavy rain in windermere and were not finding any taxi. Linthwaite, I really hope I can visit again and meet same staff and enjoy paradise on earth.
Nothing can be disliked. It is too good to be true!

The location is fantastic with great views to the Lakeland hills and lake Windermere. The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and the public areas are great with fantastic views. The accommodation, at least our room was small and the bed was also small but the fit out was good and the whole property is very clean.
The big weakness of the hotel is the food and beverage. The main restaurant is outsourced to an independent restaurant but the food in the bar and the wine list are terrible. Bad pub food at expensive hotel rates and the wine list is incredibly weak predominantly expensive S African wines, no French or Italian Reds at all. The breakfast took 90 mins to deliver. This was toast, yogurt and fry up. The coffee took 30 mins to arrive. The staff are not trained and there was clearly an issue on the Sunday am as the staff were rushing to get people out of the restaurant to hand over the restaurant to the Hemrock, the external supplier. I would stop again but I would not book the classic room, too small, and I would plan to eat out.

This was my 4th trip to Linthwaite House. Every single time has been as amazing as the last. The hotel is more than worth the price. Absolutely everything about this hotel is perfect. The staff, the bar, the food, the grounds, the tarn and the resident ducks, the location. Literally everything! I stayed in the suite with hot tub and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The room is exceptional and breathtaking even after 4 stays there. I felt like I was coming home. All of the staff remembered me and asked about my daughter (who has been with me on all previous trips). The room was as perfect as always. The other hotel guests were all friendly and just there for their own relaxation. Staff cannot do enough for you. It may sound daft but it feels, even after just 4 trips, like you're going home and the staff are kind of an extended family.

The quality and the appearance first impression. Then the parking was perfect for a car enthusiast. Very inviting, great gardens and views.
Only one observation, rooms around the kitchen and rear area do suffer from a lot of noise later in the evening and early morning, sounded like bins being moved around by the colleagues in the kitchens, and both mornings and evenings, so we would request other rooms away from that. Maybe additional glazing in those rooms, or a restriction on equipment movement and colleagues chatting as the echo is likely the enhancing factor.
