We have stayed here before and loved it. The building is beautiful and quaint, the staff are lovely and the breakfast is great. So handy for Blenheim Palace, the location in Woodstock is gorgeous, with amenities all around. I've also never had trouble finding parking.
We stayed in room 4 before, and all was well and comfortable. This time, we were in room 5, and the bed was appallingly uncomfortable. It was broken underneath, the headboard leaned forwards and wobbled, and the mattress sagged on either side, with a lump in the middle. My back was in agony after the first night, which affected me walking around the next day - spoiling our day out. It was the same story after the second night and made worse by the fact that we were again sightseeing before I drove 2 hours home. A real shame.

Included breakfast options was decent and staff were flexible to provide something between the Full English Breakfast and the loaded omelet that were included with stay. Anita the lead of the cleaning staff was exceptional....she was friendly and freely helped provide tips to our many daily destinations. The restaurant staff were kind and accommodating. All local services, restaurants, pubs, stores and local bus transit were all less than 5 minute walk from each other. The Blenheim Palace gate was less than 5 minutes away as well. Bus transit (Stage Coach app) was easy to use and had frequent convenient schedule to other communities and as well a route with a drop off to the train station. The bus service was only $2lbs per person one way per bus route.
No AC but that is very common for area and not usually required but was upto 29C while we were visiting.

Perfect location. Parking is obviously a problem, the room was beautifully presented, and the bed was very comfortable. There were a couple of issues though. There was no coffee available and there was only one small bottle of water. Ideally, there should have been a bottle of water each, plus water for the kettle, The bathroom door handle was loose and was a bit fiddly to close and there wasn't a lock on it. The breakfast, which was included, was a generous portion and very tasty. Taking all of this into account, we would choose to stay here again.
The only negative thing was the parking. But we understand there is nothing you can do about that.

This was a value for money budget stay. The surrounding restaurants were very good and the bedroom was comfortable. There was not an excessive breakfast choice but it was adequate. We would stay here again.
We stayed in room 5. We thought the bed was comfortable however was broken/not been assembled correctly so it creaked a lot. The cleanliness of the the room was ok. It could do with a proper deep clean, behind the bed was filthy. Our room was also not made up during our stay which was disappointing, we had to ask for supplies to be restocked. The guests in the room above were really noisy, which kept us awake. Not all staff were friendly/welcoming. We received a lovely welcome when we arrived but were not asked how our stay had been when we left. Breakfast was adequate but could have done with some extra choices. Selection of cereals, yogurt etc.

We were in Room 1, Superior twin, which was spacious and clean and tidy with plenty of space for clothes. Good selection of teas and coffee. We both slept very well as the beds were very comfortable. Nice handwash and lotion in the bathroom. We didnt have to wait long for our well cooked breakfast to be served and it was delicious and we asked for more toast. All of the staff very polite and helpful from check in to check out.
The only issues was in the bathroom. There must have been a radiator or hot towel rail on the wall which had been removed and there were two pipes protruding from the wall and other pipes at the bottom of the wall. It would have been nice for the work to have been completed not just left. It was all safe in the bathroom ,it just didnt look nice.

The room was clean and comfortable and serviced daily. The breakfast was very good. The location was excellent for the restaurants in the centre of Woodstock and for exploring Blenheim Palace which was only a 10 minute walk away. Buses into Oxford ran every half hour, cost £2, the journey took 40 minutes and the bus stop was a 5 minute walk away.
Car Parking was restricted to permit holders or short stay throughout Woodstock between 8.00am and 6.00pm every day. There was a free car park near the fire station (about 10 minutes walk from the property) but that had a maximum stay of 12 hours in any 24 hour period. A 24 hour Council car parking permit could be purchased from the property for £10 per day which would then allow you to park on the street outside the property. We would have found parking difficult without this purchase from the owner of the accomodation. There was occasional late night or early morning noise from people in the street outside our room, but this only happened a couple of times during the week we stayed.

The staff at the Blenheim Butttery were very helpful and gave us the rooms we had booked. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices.
No complaints about the hotel, just Booking.com who cancelled one of the two rooms I had booked months in advance and sold our room to someone else without asking me and only two days before we were due to stay, luckily the hotel staff phoned me directly to check and as the only room they had left was totally unsuitable for us I was very unhappy with the situation, I had some American friends visiting and obviously wanted to show them the best of England, the staff at the buttery were understanding, so we were still able to have the rooms I had booked.

The whole cost was very good value with excellent location and terrific room.
Breakfast. We accept the whole package was very good and the breakfast didn't ruin the stop over one bit , however, Cheap supermarket bread - mushrooms were bitter and cold and weird sausage just tainted a brilliant stay. Waiter chap was clearly not a morning person, 'need more smiles and welcoming spirit'. Not moaning, just giving some feedback - This would not put me/us staying again. I will be highly likely working at the palace later in the year - I would be very happy to have a long stay account.

We were in room 6 which was lovely and quaint. Our room was clean and comfortable, we had plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space for all of our clothes. The bathroom was nice and clean, with plenty of fresh towels. We had a good selection of tea and coffee, I asked for more still water as we only had sparkling water and was given two bottles. We had the fire exit door open and sat out on the small balcony/fire escape as the weather was warm. All staff were very helpful as we arrived early and left our overnight bags to walk around the village. Breakfast was very tasty and was served quickly.

The room was a good size and the breakfast was lovely with speedy and friendly service.
The only slightly negative thing was on arrival they could not find out booking. The lady was very nice but kept having to speak to someone on the phone. It went on for quite a long time and I kept being asked to show my booking. At one point whilst we were waiting g I was pretty worried and started looking up other hotels in Oxford as I was pretty sure they were not going to let us stay. But eventually they sorted it out and we could get in our room.
