Carmel Fireplace Inn was simply beautiful. I love the sound of water, our room faced their water feature. We kept our window open to hear the fountain…..awesome. Just wish the fountain would have stayed on much longer!

Carmel is a beautiful city, we have always liked spending time here. My only complaint is….there is never enough parking. It was difficult finding a parking place close to where we were staying. It didn’t help that we were driving a Yukon, the streets of Carmel weren’t made for the big vehicles.

Beautiful property with a spacious room including a working fireplace. Lovely bathroom and plenty of towels. Parking worked really well although on first come first serve basis so we just got lucky. Great location for bars, restaurants, beach and shops.

It was very close to town and we really enjoyed that it was an indepentently owned hotel. The room was spacious and there was a little cute courtyard with a table (it seemed it was primarily for use for the rooms directly off the courtyard, but we sat there anyway!). The fireplace warmed the place right up. It also made a big difference traveling as a family to have 1.5 bathrooms in our room. The hotel itself is a great value for the Carmel area. We would stay there again.

Parking can be tricky, but we managed to get a spot on the property after dinner. I would say that the only neutral/negative was the receptionist. He was not very enthusiastic to see us upon arrival and much as I tried we never got a smile out of him. He was pleasant enough, but spent the entire check-in process on the phone trying to get a maid replacement while checking me in. When I asked about a good coffee shop his answer was vague and not really an endorsement for a good one. I completely understand the importance of having the workers you need to run your business, it just felt disappointing after a long drive to not feel authentically welcomed.

I love the fireplace inn cottages. For the past 5 years, I've rented them every year for my family trips to Carmel, and I absolutely love them. They feel like home, and their a block away from all the shopping centers/restaurants. It's also an 8 to 10-minute walk to the beach. Just perfect.

I was very disappointed with the front desk lady she was very rude and didn't try to accommodate me with any of my requirements. I also asked if I could use their restroom as check-in time was a couple hours later, and I had just drove 3 hours to get there she was rude and said their was no bathroom in that lobby, which I new was a lie because every year I go the front desk receptionist has let me use it. Instead, she showed me a map of public restrooms that were 5 to 10min drive from there.

The location is good- within walking distance of all Carmel has to offer. The room was clean and made up daily.

There was a storm which cut the electricity supply.This had been warned of in the press and media for several days. We had no electricity from early evening to our leaving the following day. Other establishments had ensured a generator in case of power difficulties. Not one staff member came to check on our well being, there was no offer of battery lighting nor a hot thermos of water nor updates on the situation. Very poor customer service.

This hotel is in a great location. Right down town and walkable to everything. We have stayed in a few hotels in the area and they can be very expensive. The price was good for Carmel and the hotel room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The lady named Inge, at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is a little rundown with older furnishings, if that matters to you. The bathroom is small and lacks good lighting for makeup. Only a street view from our room, but I could see others may have a peek at the ocean view.

The room # 38 was lovely, clean, spacious, with a wonderful gas fireplace that added ambience.

Was there ever food provided? I noticed a microwave in the lobby. That would have been a nice addition. The first check in staff person was not very friendly, just perfunctory and not very welcoming. The second person was much friendlier in the evening and told us where to get ice cream. I know it is Carmel, but the price ($240 including tax) is steep for just a simple room, and this is your cheaper rate.

Very cozy little room with fireplace, it has a cottage feeling so who is looking for this then look no further. The surroundings are generally very beautiful, the staff was also great and helpful.

The parking is first come first serve basis, we always had a spot but even if it is full you shouldn’t have a problem most likely. What was missing was either a breakfast (at least something small) or some smaller kitchen in the rooms - local restaurants are quite expensive even for breakfasts. But this is quite minor, apart from that everything was great.

I like this small quaint little "weird" room. it reminded me of my old room back at Mom's house... I also like how the little fridge has two doors in front of it. it is small and tight which I kind of like, small bathroom. The shower is a little challenging but I still like how small it is. Not for a Big person..they would hate it.

The bed seemed a little higher at the foot which is not good for me. or is it that the room is slanted. There was some loud construction going on across the street, not your fault. One nice addition would be to give us a couple of bottles of water in the room or in the fridge for later

The property was nice and the room was nice but $300 worth per night? I don't know about that.

For $300/night, I would have expected a guarantee parking space as well as a continental breakfast of something of the like. If they couldn't do that, maybe provide each guest with complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates upon arrival. It was just a little pricier than I had hoped and I get it, with COVID, a lot of places are struggling but so are consumers.
